Wind and sea and waves and sun sand in toes as day is done Seagulls glide, sandpipers run young dad splashes with his son Breakers rise, translucent teal lifeguards poised as youngsters squeal Seniors search for shells - they feel twelve again as sun rays heal Sky on fire towards the west clouds in lustrous fashion dressed Cosmic artistry - I'm blessed songs of peace swirl through my chest Violins waft quietly over swelling timpani Saxophone soars soulfully bidding hearts to be set free Blushing scarlet, clouds advance smell of salty foam enchants Palm trees sway as in a trance recalls young love's first slow dance Couples stroll, fingers entwined share a kiss if so inclined Rising moon smiles as designed: gives the anxious peace of mind Waves still warm from midday blaze surfers dance in sea-mist haze Sailboats flee from stress-filled days springtime struts; summer sashays written 23 June 2023

Lovely seaside scene, so full of exuberance and beauty. Young and old enjoy their own lives. Seagulls and sandpipers hover around. Sail boats set to sail, rising breakers and salty foam, palm trees swaying their fronds ! What melange of sights. Lovely poem. Congratulations on your POTW

A beautiful song sung in a most loving perspective of a day at the beach. You've fashioned clouds and sashayed summer-using your cosmic artist technique to bring your serenade to life. Congratulations on another great POTW John Watt!

John, as the summer sun serenades in a sultry, yet satisfying way; those cool waves are a wonderful welcome, indeed. The images you paint are like a gentle whisper in the wind, a soft touch upon the skin. I love this line, especially: "Clouds in lustrous fashion dressed, songs of peace swirl through my chest." A feeling of happiness washes over me. :) Be sure to stay cool and hydrated, when lingering in the sun, my dear friend. Congratulations on Poem of the Week. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

My friend, your poetic words speak deeply to this old poet's heart and soul. So descriptive and enticing. Reminds me so cheerfully of beachside vacations I once had in my youth. A fine fav, a jewel and a truly great read! God bless.

having lived on various types of Lidos, I say you have well captured the ambiance...a picture-perfect painting well executed in these lines and if artists truly understood poets this would grace the walls of the Lourve...and we all know why artists believe a picture is worth a thousand words...they cannot read...loved it John...made me relive those moments

Hi John, this is without a doubt one of THE BEST ocean/seaside poems I've ever read. I speak with honesty having grown up on beaches in the Tampa Bay area (sadly, no longer living there) but thanks to you just traveled there in my mind. This one's mystically marvelous. Cheerios, Terell
