Best Running Away Poems

Running Away

dealing with too much worry
never any good news
I'm thinking of running away
running back to you

I need someone to hold me
a different point of view
I'm thinking of running away
running back to you

I need a tower of strength
from these times that leave me blue
I'm thinking of running away
running back to you

I need your love and passion
a heart to fall into
I'm thinking of running away
running back to you

I want to feel your shelter
a smile the sun shines through
I'll be there tomorrow
I'm running back to you

Running Away

Packing bags and leaving home

Running into the darkness of
night like a criminal

No destination

Just an escape into freedom
from the nightmare

Just feeling the sunlight’s breath
on my cheek freely

A winds whisper touching my
ears

Running away from dreams and
wishes

Setting an adventure of a
lifetime

Running away from the past
where horror lies

Running away from lullabies and
thunder

Forgetting everything for awhile

And sit down and breathe in and
out for awhile

Smelling the freshness of life
that will no longer exist

Running Away

The blood in my veins freeze,
the breath in my chest comes to a rapid halt,
the atmosphere changes,
I am made of stone - and I run.

I run as fast as I possibly can;
away from the possibilities he lies out before me.
Away from the fears that echo like a song in my mind,
over and over and over and over and over
until I think I'm going to go insane.

I run from the dangers that come with trusting another being,
from the chance that I could be wrong,
from everything twisting and turning and forming in my mind.
And for a moment I am Titanium.

Premium Member running away

we ran away
each riding on our tricycle....
switched all the way home

privet hedge limbs
have so many uses....
red streaks on my legs

the ride back home
took so much longer....
crying and pedaling

Running Away

Tendencies intensify
To end a life that's full of lies
Without a thought was forced to hide
Sick and tired to win the prize

Burdens weighed down
Patience submerged
Determination disappears
Given up the war inside
Thinking its the end of the line

A place to survive is not what we see
Its in the arms of a Healer where we can confide and be free
As we conform to the world salvation sets apart
Resolutions forced us to run away and pull the gun

Make up the mind and understand
His perfect love cast out all fears inside
If love is clear and heart is open
No need to run away and die

Running Away

Running through this field
Fly away from everything
Away from all pain

I’m running away
to unearth consolation.
My knees - my bindle,
carried to the ground.

To unearth consolation,
I’ve traveled so far, so near.
Carried to the ground -
all my trepidation and loss.

I’ve traveled, so far, so near
to the presence of Christ.
All my trepidation and loss
laid down at the foot of the cross.

To the presence of Christ -
my knees. My bindle
laid down at the foot of the cross.
Yes! I'm running away.

Running Away For Love

This could change my life.
He knows all i want is to be his wife.
I'm so ready to be gone,
I'm so sick of feeling alone
Should i stay or should i go?
I ask my best friend and she says "hell no"
Its not like I'll be gone forever
Only one more year and we'll be back together.
Its a fresh new start,
With someone i love with my whole heart.
So many thoughts in my head
as i lay on this cold stiff bed.
I just want to be in your arms,
Just so scared of who this all harms.
My hand shakes as i write about this decision,
Like a new doctor making his first incision.
In my heart its a 100% yes
But in my head I'm thinking 'is this the best?'
All the thoughts of this goin right
Out wieghs the thoughts saying 'this isnt so bright'
Finally out of the madness
No more having so much stress.
No more screaming in my face
Finally ill be in the right place
Just hoping they accept me into their home
Because God knows i cant do this alone.
This isnt a maybe
are you ready baby?

Tired of Running Away

You were born to run,
so you ran
You were raised not to get close,
so you kept your distance
Love was an emotion of little value to you,
discarded easily like yesterday news
You were so good at reading those soft hearts,
where to go for the most vulnerable parts
Feeding on their loneliness,
then leaving them with empty memories
of passionate nights
And broken promises come morning light
But I knew going in,
my eyes were wide open
The shallow man you were didn't faze me,
you just needed someone to teach you
how to love properly
You were born to run,
so you ran
This I fully understand
But I also knew that time was on the turn,
and you were gonna get tired of running away one day
Today is that day,
today you got tired of running away
The shallow man you were didn't concern me,
you just needed someone to teach you
how to love deeply
Now that you're tired of running away,
come rest my love ...
Now that you've gotten so tired from running away,
I welcome you into my heart to stay
forever always

Premium Member Running Away In Her Dreams

Do you ever think of getting into your RV and heading west and never looking back? I ask my friend.
Her life is a series of woes, and misbegottens, have-tos, and never-wases. Drama, at full tilt.
Every time I see her she has a flat tire, her mother is in the hospital, and someone in her family just died.
Yesterday her car broke down, and none of her free-loading relatives would bring her to work.
Which was okay as she had smallpox anyway.
This morning she showed me that she is missing her face, and her hair fell off.
High drama indeed for 7 a.m.
Do you ever think of getting into your RV and heading west? I ask her.
She smiled.
Every day, she said, and I would leave my phone here.

Running Away From Mariposa

Standing in the meadow
Looking up at old Half Dome
Watching deer meandering
Across the front porch of their home.

So many years ago
When the Indians still were there
And the great Winona redwood
Could be driven through if you dare

The times were so much simpler
And the living was so free
When the life of a little boy
Was all that it could be.

Seems I've spent a lifetime
Looking for a better way to be
When Mariposa was just waiting
For me to come back and be me.

Indeed I've spent most of my life,
A lifetime running away
Trying to be what I wasn't,
A mask and a part to play.

Trying to be this one and that one
Running away from seeds that were sown
Breaking deals and breaking hearts
Even at last my own.

So I offer this advice
To those whose heart is achin',
Go right on and just be yourself,
Everyone else is taken.

I'M Not Running Away

If you have those doubts
Then let me take it away
If you have those fears
Let me hold you tight
I’m not running away…
I’m not running away…

My heart does always tell
We are meant for each other
Don’t want to go somewhere
Without you at my side
I’m not running away…
I’m not running away…

If you have those doubts
Please throw it away
Don’t let your fears
Grip you to death
I’m not running away…
I’m not running away…

My heart dictates
We belong together
Promise I won’t leave
Without you at my side
I’m not running away…
I’m not running away…

Indecisive Running Away Man I Am

Indecisive Running Away Man I Am!

Always running away to and from
anything and everything
anyone and everyone in which I
indecisively not knowing what to do or even where ever to go in order
to find solace and acceptance by others and especially myself
adapting to but still struggling with having only solace in solitude for now
never actually solving my problems
instead keeping my mind occupied on other things
running away and restarting my life every two to three years is my only solution
in hopes of finding finding sustainability and balance in everything and especially myself
It's a vicious endless circular cycle
working a decent paying job
then getting fed up with it
quitting and running away again
my life has been and still is a never-ending running away from everything and anything
that I disagree with or get fed up with every since I joined and left the United States of America's Navy!

Running Away

I missed you when you disapeared
i didnt know where to go or what to do

I wanted to see your face, but all i saw was fog.
I wanted to hold you tight but i didnt know where you were

I looked to the east, I looked to the west
But no sign of you anywhere
I hunted and cried
And occasionally screamed.
But i still didnt know where you were
and wondered if you would still visit me

If you still thought about me and cared
If you saw how much i was hurting and wanted to talk to you
But I couldnt see you or hear you so i continued running.

I ran and ran, from all i new
from all i was and all i am
I felt alone and afraid
and new you were crying
I new i had hurt you and you were broken
but i didnt know what to do so i just ran

Hoping that things would work out themselves
but freaking out that il never see your face again
and i would never feel that way again.

I spoke those three words
and apologised
but you starting running away from me too
you understood me and loved me for who I am
but it hurt you too much so you took a step back.

I walked out of your life and you walked out of mine
Please, promise from now on you'l stay by my side
Because when i left you
I lost it all

Running Away

Running away

Running away
They couldn’t make her stay
Further and further into the woods
Why didn’t she stop like she should
Time went by fast
She stopped at last
She was scared
She was in the middle of no where
She realized that day
Never run away from fear
