How my heart longs for spring
with its warm light breezes.
To see the wonders of young buds
slowly unfurling bringing colour.
The promise of new birth all around,
baa of new born lambs as they skip
through the green lush pastures.
Chasing after each other gleefully.
The happy songs of birds gathering
up wool and twigs to refurbish nests
Some already sitting patiently on eggs
their mate bringing fat worms and goodies.
The longer lighter nights hold promise
of the hot summer that is soon to come.
Spring flowers adorn woods, fields and hedges
and gentle splash of pastel colour fills gardens.
Until Spring gently takes over from Winter
I will dream on wrapped up in woolly fleece.

Ode
For the presence of
Self-fulfilling wisdom
And the sake of all that
Which is Holy
The Dear Lord breaks bread
With His disciples'
Some the holy of the
Most holy
Some the highest of the
Most high
To refurbish the Covenant
Once again
Then so dispense
His conciliatory Wine
As a tribute
To reaffirm the faith
Of all Man

Pastoral
Ruminating over a golden era gone by and over possessiveness filled me with nostalgia
Ultimate luxury of vying for a car as well as owning a chauffeur driven one was
Sadly for the migrated rulers who ruled over another dynasty across oceans
The massive Ford drove into grandpa's driveway in the early forties
Exactly thirty years later it stood dark, forlorn, inviting rust under the banyan tree
Devoid of its master whose ashes were bestrewn within the old British Raj bungalow
Benign weather peeled off layers of its glossy makeup despite its bare upkeep; our
Undulating frustration as it drank too many gallons; moleskin upholstery on bucketed
Seats laid bare its withered ribs, spouting foul smell in rain and sun; the rolling
Tyres busted for the wheels didn't spin down the familiar roads along the hill; our
Eyes got sore at its lost lustre while we heaved deep sighs at its opulent maintenance
Divine providence intervened to refurbish the vintage for glorious view in the Museum

Our local Church is falling down; it’s in total disrepair,
Father Murphy is beside himself for no one seems to care.
The coffers are near empty so there’s need of volunteers
to refurbish what neglect has caused over many years.
But a call from Father Murphy didn’t quite have the effect
he believed would offer him support, the way he did expect,
for on the day that he proposed to have a working bee,
the promised helpers on his books had whittled down to me.
And I am not a carpenter; a sparky or a plumber.
If he’s looking for a tradesman, he won’t find no one dumber.
I listened to his explanation and his fears that our dear Church
without a huge influx of cash will leave us in the lurch.
Father Murphy stated fetes and card nights hardly even rate,
and lately there has been so little dropped into the plate.
And no amount of threats can intimidate his flock,
and then the room went quiet when we heard a knock.
Opening up the manse front door there standing face to face,
is Father Murphy with a well-dressed man who carries a briefcase.
But who he is, is still unclear … is he a spiritual debater?
One minute and clear as a bell … he’s a tax investigator.
And information that he’s seeking concerns one of the flock,
Ted Hourigan has made a claim that’s not as solid as a rock.
Father admitted he knew Ted, and in his flock he’s one,
but Father Murphy’s apprehensive about what Ted has done ...
... until the investigator nearly blew him off his perch …
“Did Ted Hourigan donate ten thousand dollars to your Church?”
Father Murphy’s prayers are answered; to tell the truth he’d be a dill;
so he looked this bloke fair in the eye - and said “Oh yes, he will.”

Every time I sleep; pains on my brain'
Abolishing my heart n soul lord escort my vein
From the bounded clouds of this mournful pain
I can't predict the weather nor the range of the rain
But hope for the station of this moving train
Thou death is sometimes rude & so insane
Life remains a distance between birth & death
That exists deep down in the palms of earth
Demise, demise, demise; roll your unmerciful dice
Flutter with our lives as we stare with horrified eyes
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, statue into dense ice
Nothing panels your path nor human's wealth
Wicked calamity that neither cares of people's health
Guilty & innocent souls shall rest on your misty throne
Plans & creatures will bow & obey to the sound of your tone
Yet no grave, on the roots of earth, shall hold my corpse down
I'll dwell with divine cherubs of warmth, & wear my sacred crown
Emulating implausible angels in the closed doors of heavens town
So wipe your worthless tears, & rinse my ashes with frosty plums
Blustering monumental trumpets, accompanied by mourning drums
While the faultless treasure chest slumps down the mastery ground
As I tumble in a dim cavernous ocean aiding my soul to rebound
Gushing tears won't refurbish dull coats munched in the idols grave
Bloated hearts shall be restored by comforting pals that are brave
The sprinkling gates of heaven will sanctify my bones with streams
Consigning my precious soul to a land filled with endless dreams
Confessing all my transgressions; as I knock on the heavens door
While my corpse respite calm on the arctic layers of my odd floor

A New Earl of Sandwich
In a former men’s bathroom on the old Boston Common
You can now get a burger or noodles by Ramen
It was built in the 20s as a “men’s comfort station”
Used for 50 years and then deactivation
For the next 40 years it was all locked up tight
Filled with urinals and toilets and other delights
But the Earl of Sandwich that of Florida base
Said we’ll buy and refurbish as a great sandwich place
So they took out the urinals, the toilets, the sinks
And cleaned up the place so it no longer stinks
The interior’s now just a kitchen and prep
And the former old restroom has lost its bad rep
The building now looks as if back in its day
This once former restroom has come a long way
Now the good folks of Boston can all rest assured
That this dingy old bathroom’s no longer a turd

The setting? Bean Town, known for allegory,
has city gardens guarded close by lawmen.
Make Way for Ducklings, long a famous story.
Adjacent playground near the well-known common
includes eight precious ducklings, bronzed with burnish
inviting kids to bring a weary mom in.
As Mommy-sized folk sit, these icons furnish
young fledglings brief recess from worn caregivers.
Moms will then offer swan rides to refurbish.
Such swans are boats that cruise along the rivers,
diversion's fun that Boston mass delivers.

In the days to come
Who will be my hero?
Come to fulfill my dream
Lift my mind with pleasing images
And sing my song throughout the journey
To carry me through the gate
And level the playing field for me
In the days to come
Who will nourish my unclouded vision?
And walk with me along streams of living waters
Carry me over with love
And listen to my charming stories;
Who will stand by me and say my name correctly
As mountains erode and crumble
Share my sadness
When darkness torment my soul
In the days to come
Who will rise above all?
To embrace my legacy
Refurbish my presence with perfection
And glide with me on the wings of the wind
To take me where the eagle built its nest
Offer me lasting security
And send joy in my household
With peace decorated hope

2
indeed, he was reckoned the wisest
as he laid a wisdom bag by his chest;
ah, mbe the tortoise, a full-bearded beast
as were the associates of his deep forest –
& he was proud to stand his head erect
such as made one like a governor-elect!
his dream of an appropriate mansion in mind
tho’ of limbs weary, smart was his aging mind
to discern that none in the province of beasts
made yet an invention in aid of the empire of beasts
old nwaoporocha chose unhurried life to lead
& to revamp a riverside haven his mustard seed!
“the forest made a great pasture for all” thot he
– yet his lazy limbs contrived the crafty tree
that summed up his four-score & seven years
nervous & gloomy was he for the naught of days
spent – yet, old mbe opted for a slow-smart life
wishing to refurbish his haven without strife!

misinterpreted colors
refurbish occurred development
it only takes a second
(sh*it is usually measured in irrelevant moments)
it's always a second
standing in front of a choice
engulf the crap or
stream it straight at that mirror
aiming my sapience with furnished bugs eyes
by ease they are pouring deluded circular reasoning
making the bathtub
where I can peacefully drown in
stating how you're entitled to life
the child has overtaken
a role of my backpack
(so I can drown easily)
your child
sitting on my shoulders
while that entitlement to life
is covering my lungs
and mucous curtains
are obscuring coughed words
but I can scrutinize how your brain
is not at the right place
like there’s too much space
and it is out of the ledge
bumping at the surfaces of your skull
still
can’t pacify your behavior
with tissue suppression
too many times
I have rolled over
like a dog
this time
I’ll just sit in a silence
and leave you
by the road

Free verse
To everyone who found himself,
Found himself by looking for the good in others.
The more you try to add value to others,
The more you add value to yourself.
The more I try to plant my SWAP in you,
The more my hectares of farm of SWAP enlarges
And the more I see more about myself
I never saw when I never started.
Saul enrolled for the Gulder Ultimate Search
To search for the lost donkey of his father
And then he found himself
As the first King of Israel.
David laid down his life to be the Fulani boy
Of his family, even though clearly neglected.
Yet, at his duty post he fell in love with God,
He wrote love-letters to God,
Expressing his psalms feelings to God
And also expressed his might
With lions and bears as specimens.
Also, Goliath as his great spring to greatness.
Whatever you can do to refurbish humanity,
Do it with all delight and someday
Your light will so shine before men
That they may see your good works
And glorify your Father which art in Heaven.

Love me where I am most ruined,
refurbish all of the cracked paint;
Turn my scraps into abstract art,
your design leaves me whole again;
Refurbish all of the cracked paint;
Within broken eyes see a vision,
scattered but still a masterpiece;
Turn my scraps into abstract art;
Resourceful little architect
use every detail like a block;
Your design leaves me whole again;
My past a piece of our future
etched in the lines of your blueprints.
