Am I dreaming
or have I dreamt myself awake
I can’t seem to discern
between real and fake
What’s right
What’s wrong
which direction
should I take
Am I reasonably responsible
for the many mistakes I might make

Backward bouncy walking
Crazy ticketed talking
Following the run
in a pretty girls stocking
Unafraid of anything
Willing to do what’s shocking
Sarcastically mocking
Listening to head voices
My brain has lost it’s sane
my body’s rocking

My mind skipping
from Idea to Idea
You weren’t there a second ago go
but now I see you
Wait a second
I can see right through you
Black isn’t white
Yellow is now blue
Bending over
To take a boulder
out of my shoe
They were old yesterday
and now they’re new
But instead of one pair
I’m wearing out two

The room is shaking
Momma’s in the kitchen
Half baked
Pieces of everything
Tender flaked
The tiles under my feet
vibrate to the beat
Hey momma
“Trick or Treat?
Give me something good to eat”
Suddenly I’m covered by a sheet
on a cold stainless table
being processed like meat
sliding on a rail
Door closed
Fire burning
someone turning up the heat
Bell ringing, ringing, ringing
WAKE UP, Wake up Rick
If only I could
That would be a cool trick!
I feel like I’m being beat with a stick
Shake, shake, shake
“wake up Rick its Eight,
you’re going to be late.”
Get out of bed you fool.
It’s time for school.”

Eyes open, “I‘m up, I’m up!”
But wait
You can’t hear me talk
Because I’m an unwound
broken old clock
no longer able to tick or tock
I only have hands
so I can’t even walk.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Things that make me go hmm. The second hand of clock or watch is actually the third hand. ;0)

The Bird Is the Word

I don’t know what I’m complaining about,
it’s not like I’ve been cuffed,
All I have to do is show up for dinner.
After all it’s the bird that got stuffed.

It’s not like they’re asking a lot from me
they won’t work me till I’ve croaked,
All I have to do is show up and eat.
After all it’s the bird that got smoked.

I can’t tell you that they’ll torture me
and it seems to be reasonably priced,
All I have to do is visit for a while.
After all it’s the bird that got sliced.

I could tell them things to make them laugh
until their gravy becomes splattered,
All I’d have to do is tell a joke to them.
After all it’s the bird that got plattered.

I think that it smells good enough that I’ll eat
until they claim my leg’s been hollowed,
All I have to do is not complain about things.
After all it’s the bird that got swallowed.

I’ve never given it much thought before
but a bird’s life is really kind of murky
I guess I’d rather be the Thanksgiving guest today
than be the Thanksgiving Turkey.

There you go you have been identified
### - ## - ####
You have been marked
Branded, tracked, and electronically lo-jacked
Forever part of the system
### - ## - ####
Cataloged, tethered, and bound by a digital rope
0's and 1's
Forever lost digitally
And reasonably beyond hope
A sequence of numbers
To be put in a human catalogue
### - ## - ####
To be accessed, reviewed, and assessed
Through the cyber fog
You are a number, not a name
You are part of the inventory
Of the cold hearted insane
### - ## - ####
Welcome to the warehouse we call earth
We want your presence, we crave your birth
Another soul to feed the beast
Another set of digits to add to the feast
### - ## - ####
No need to worry because you are free
Just never be late when you pay me
### - ## - ####
9 little numbers to keep you straight
9 little ways to control your fate
Think of this when you obey
Live with this day by day

It is the freedom
For which you pay
Log in, sign on, and punch the clock
My obedient tax paying flock
For the masses and your little number
You have been introduced
To the greed driven financial slumber
Welcome !

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Black Marmalade

Slicing the instinct
The arcane was torn, curses spit
Teardrop bated as the breath hunts
Wound wide open, the heart cries

The ripple of pain unable to stem
The cimmerian sigh loud and stay
Body falls along with the bridge of hope
Toying life unwillingly to be blamed

The chain of fate convoluted by mistakes
Incised by the foredoom of another story
Shouted a shout inevitable said
Reverses direction and unpredictably impaled

Breath blows the true bitterness
Jaded in each lamentation
Tired of every abnormalities which frequently ensue
Longing for the things which reasonably flows as it should

Life is about to choose
Though destiny had its own script
We have awarded a red carpet, but
Sorry if we still have to walk on the imperfections of life

Premium Member A Rhyme Less Reason

Without reason rhyme would not be sublime.
Un-metered runs of tale-tossed words, un-timed
would reasonably scatter like broken chimes,
petering-out upon the parchment page of springtime.

Without season time could not unwind
in measured meter with unearthly reason kind,
scattering broken bits like brittle finds
across the fragrant fields of summer time.

Without lessons man would not advance lifetimes,
measuring his earthly mettle in the after time
treasuring the gifts of life with autumn’s wine,
His reason is not ours to know, though it seems kind.

Without rhyme or reason, we search for the Prime,
the holy gift of love and peace exsisting before time.
Now, as we enjoy the gifts of winter most pristine,
we praise all that’s holy for the gift of life's time.

Prophecy's Peril

Armageddon approaches as
Bombastic
Charismatic characters'
Daring-do
Enlarges evil's
Fissure
Grown too
Huge horror of
Islamic
Jewish and Christian
Knockout
Linking
Menacing multiple
Nukes
Onto an ancient
Prophecy as
Quieter heads
Reasonably
Seeking solutions are
Turned
Upon by
Vituperate voices
Wailing war who wait
Xpectantly for
Young
Zealots to enflame the world.

Premium Member The Sleep of Reason Breeds Monsters

The demon spawns temptation in the minds of mortal men
Exposed is their dark desires, lifted from the pits of hell
Evil breeds in the fiery depths of Satan’s beastly lair
Seeds planted to grow in shadowed corners of a heart

Abysmal minds of the frail are openly inclined to accept
blasphemous words angrily spit from irreverent lips
His rancid breath lights a wick that bursts into flame;
a dastardly exploit, a wicked game orchestrated by Bael,
infernal king with power to devour the weak, the frail

The fallen one leaches on mankind’s thirst for lust
Inside a mind he creeps, contorting visions in dreams
A soulless corpse lies where a man reasonably slumbered
encumbered by vile creatures at the Devil's command

Taken by Satan's hand, a life fuels death’s appetite
His Craft forged in the hotbeds of his dwelling place
A two-faced fiend, slayer of men, father of the lie
Skillfully he plies his trade with false promises he's made
His dirty deeds spring from need and jealous greed

No sleep comes to the one trapped in eternal torment
Screams are cries of fear the devil craves to hear
He accepts no alibis; no second chance does he give
There's no escape from the clutch of his sharpened claws
He'll hold you eternally, without resurrection from the grave

Darkness falls from his shadow, across every land
Scoring souls of modern man from depths of their despair.
He seeks the lost and wicked who'll do his sinful bidding.
Fair warning: be mindful when weary and in need of rest
for the Dark One is a bird catcher, waiting to pounce
and capture those he knows he can lead astray

Achievement can be attained by taking one step at a time
Each tread advances towards courage and will power

                                   Acquire a level self esteem
                                      Touch a star above you
                                           You can do this
                                               If you will

Premium Member Unfit and Ill-Equipped

Holy verse, subject to human
interpretation, holds only shards
of insight into divine wisdom
leaving us ill-equipped, in our
imperfection, to truly
know the mind of God.

And in our imperfect state we
have been granted the use of
only a small percentage of our
miraculous minds because we
are wisely given only that
which we can reasonably handle.

So how is it we lack humility,
claiming infallible knowledge
of sovereign will and law?

And why is faith confused
with fact when there is no
evidence to support it?

Still, self-righteous zealots
peddle pre-packaged religion
complete with divine amnesty
if you 'act now'
and warning labels
for those who refuse to buy.

We are all unqualified
to say who is right
and who is wrong.
And not one of us
is fit to know who
lacks divine approval.

To disagree is not a sin.

But to condemn another
is to usurp the throne of God.

Just once.
Just one single sublime moment of love
Is all I ever desired.
All I ever reasonably wanted in life!
Was I not a man with a river of passion
Raging through me, raging with rushing torrents
Rushing madly through the deepest gorges
Of my manly soul?
Was I not a human being with gazing probing eyes
Cursed with blinding sight,
Cursed with confounding appetites for flesh
And incredible intimacies in the dark,
Intimacies even the gods of Olympus had access to
Tons of minutes ago?
And so I ask: What good is a windmill without the wind?
What good is a man’s tongue without words to utter
Words of deep intense longings
To the faces of patient pulchritude?
What good are a man’s prayers to a dead god
In an empty universe?
Now I’m here in Clark Cemetery,
Still thirsting for one woman’s touch,
One woman’s thrilling embrace!
Instead, I am tasting the kisses of a thousand worms
Here in the sheets of my bed of death.
Amen to lost love!

i love ice cream in the summertime while sitting on the edge of the lake with my feet wading in the water then catch a breeze so gentle and sweet - I pray another one just like it will pass through.i love a beautiful thought going through my head that is so sweet that it makes no difference that it's not real - because I get the same sensation;Only there is no price to be paid, no one to praise... but goodness for goodness sake. i love just feeling good and being grateful. for being reasonably

healthy after all i have done to defile my temple, and laffing for no other reason but for at that moment nothing is making me sad.i love being in a place where i can be caught up in my thoughts, knowing that i still have friends to share them with and that when i come down from this ivory tower of joyous thoughts. i can dry my feet off - turn on fake air and be ready to analyze some important issues, like which one of my grand kids, has which one of my traits oh well that's it for now...I wrote this all because i read this poster. Yeah i like breaking rules too, so i enjoyed writing this with no punctuation and little i's instead of capitol I's...https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/t1.0-9/1504073_732390496818098_5832240819954108140_n.jpg

The Coffee Shop

I found a coffee shop where we can meet.
It’s within walking distance from your house
So you can’t complain nobody is there to drive you.

I found a coffee shop where we can meet.
It’s small and secluded, away from public eyes
So you won’t have to worry of paparazzi swarming.

I found a coffee shop where we can meet.
Its coffee and hot chocolate are reasonably priced
So don’t you tell me you can’t afford them.

I found a coffee shop where we can meet.
It does have a power socket, so you can bring
Your laptop if your work is really that urgent.

I found a coffee shop where we can meet.
(And don’t play dumb for I know that you know
Where to find it.)

So don’t make me sit here alone forever, honey:
Watching the sky weeps—for the warmth of coffee
Will never be enough to keep me company.

Premium Member Five Guys

For the greatest hamburgers, hot dogs, and fresh-cut fries,
we must only know one location, and that’s “Five Guys”.
The stores are found in thirteen states along the east coast.
Food is fresh and never frozen, quality’s the most!
Their burgers cooked to order from the best cuts of beef,
and freshly cut potatoes taste great beyond belief!
Fifteen delicious toppings are available there.
Any other fast food restaurant fails to compare.
Freshly roasted peanuts are served complimentary.
Free refills with drinks and they are priced reasonably.
So go to your nearest Five Guys if you want a treat.
You will learn their food quality can never be beat.

Doctors Moe, Larry and Curly Fight Ebola

By Elton Camp

Of Ebola, sensible persons are scared
There was time in the US to be prepared

For decades the virus has been known
How to control has clearly been shown

Working in a crude Liberian tent
Doctors are found reasonably content

When, to safety, strict attention is paid
Ebola virus disease is rarely conveyed

Growing numbers in Africa dead
Showed Ebola continued to spread

Nobody could sensibly think anymore
The virus wouldn’t reach the US shore

The threat the CDC should understand
See that needed supplies were on hand

Issue guidelines unmistakably clear
Make certain that all hospitals hear

Then, before it was too late
Training sessions mandate

Be certain nurses knew what to do
A virus, to them, deadly and new

Rather, in the manner of stooges three
Their ineptitude all could plainly see

An apology is far from enough
For failing in such basic stuff

Please, you have put my progress on pause and caused me prolonged poverty-Put the keys to my persona back on the dresser, need my personality back- You have put my purpose on pause, and caused me to get pulled into your pool of problems, I do not want to swim in gossip and drama. You have Pitched me another curve ball of your pastimes.. Waiting for me to catch your worthless, purpose of profound pity - This is my ditty on your pretty agenda based, passive, pretentious piety. Unreal humility, has programmed your potential, which produces phony plastic products that are non essential. Pardon me if I have come to certain conclusions; Since I've allowed your inclusion into my own illusions. I now protest what I detest,of what I thought I saw in you ..As my mind has been reasonably restored, I reserve the right to say who belongs in my life. So I am closing pages on peons who have put my purpose on pause. New perspectives on my prerogative... Peace!
