SPELLING TEST (there are over 30 words contained within this poem that are often
misspelt by the common man)
We all do on occasion temporarily misspell.
Amateur or connoisseur of language, who can tell?
Conscientiously piece together, peculiar bits of rhyme.
Manoeuvre letters gorgeously for others to refine.
Discipline and experience, all apparent to you and me.
Pronunciation not enough to spell linguistically.
Skilful realignment of the letters needs addressed.
Paralytic implications quintessentially expressed.
A ricochet of rhythm, sabotaged in a queue of verse.
Cacophony of tone with their spellings unrehearsed.
Is your spelling kamikaze,a haemorrhaging of ink.
A karaoke nightmare, communication on the brink.
So literary geniuses,i am all apologetic.
If my utterance is rabbled and my spelling is pathetic.
You see, many words i utilize in this poem i create.
Have been misspelt for centuries, the most common is
separate

The Long Count Calendar, Cycle One Ends
December twenty-first, two thousand and twelve –
The Mayan long count calendar sets sights on that year.
Are there ecological and cosmic questions to delve?
Is it time for modern man to panic and fear?
The reckoning at hand, according to Mayans,
Began with the creation of the world.
Then, the sky still lay on the primordial sea, black
And the long count calendar began time’s whirl.
Man has traveled a long way on life’s stage.
Throughout time to beyond the information age,
Amazing discoveries have and will come to man
Since before and after the scientific method began.
End of the world theories run rampant these days.
Promulgated by televisions entertaining ways.
History Channel’s “Decoding the Past”
Brought on many doomsday sequels…and fast.
Did the galactic alignment of nineteen, ninety, eight
Begin the wake of a super-massive black hole fate?
Or will a geomagnetic reversal mark earth’s end?
Can we know when the apocalypse will begin?
The Holy Bible says no one knows when.
Upon that premise, hope over fear may win.
Have faith and see what NASA has to say
About that previously predicted calendar day.
Polarity change takes thousands of years.
And it doesn’t affect planetary alignments
There is no huge planet heading for earth.
So, predictions need realignment.
Be faithful; and with Christ live a thousand years.
Even if the apocalypse does start, put fears on shelve.
What will really happen in two thousand and twelve?
Cycle two of the Mayan long count calendar will begin.

Catastrophes,natural disasters and torrential rains
what causes these thing to happen, on whom do you place the blame?
mankind has misused and abused this planet on which we live
Mother Nature must make adjustments, the forces of nature then give
we have built too many buildings, taken over too much land
an earthquake may be a realignment to the acts and plans of man
aerosol cans, rain forest diminishing, the erosion of the soil and ground
when the rain eventually falls the lack of trees causes the mud to slide down
God gave us some power, many have called it free-will
mankind can use it for good or he can use it for ill-will
yet when many lives are lost and so many souls depart
why does anyone think to ask, was it an act of God?
air pollution, water pollution, the whole industrial age
has ravaged our planet and brought about Mother Nature's rage
we act before we think, we destroyed things that can't be replaced
maybe Mother Nature is trying to tell us to do an about face
tsunamis, monsoons and all types of major tidal waves
may be a wake-up call to how we have behaved
we need to come together and start making some major plans
stop raping our natural resources and start preserving God's land
so if anyone ever asks you, was it an act of God the Lord Christ?
just ask them for this planet, what has mankind sacrificed?
we are selfish in our deeds, self-absorbed in our needs
eventually we must bear the blame and we all will pay the price
just don't be so quick to place the burden of guilt on God the Lord Christ

Narrative
Letters, words, and phrases
Once piled, filed in my brain
Dumped went all the drawers
Words went all askew
Files, unsorted, scattered
Mixed messages now astrew
To this scene I now awaken
Into this dreadful dream
Perplexed and puzzled
Tears now stream
Reasonable realignment
Unfeasible, Unworkable,
Words washed away
Impossible to reach
Imprisoned within
Words from others
Echo in my ears
“Sufferered stroke,” “healing hospital”
Only fuel fears.
Familiar faces
Names don’t know
Smiles and tears
Both do flow
Days now pass
I try to speak
It’s hard to find
The words I seek.
I find only
a
massive
mountain of
tangled terms from
which to pick and choose.
I strain to say the sounds and work the words.
Those around me puzzled, don’t quite understand.
I know ‘things’ and ‘objects,’ on much more
I can’t expand.
Frustrated, Unfulfilled
Feeling strained and stumped
Searching for simple syllables
In massive mounds where they were dumped.
[My husband suffered a stroke on November 15, 2012. His therapist tried to explain to me what aphasia was. As frustrating as it is for the victim to make himself understood, it can be equally frustrating for the caregiver who wants to understand. This poem is my effort to have others understand.]

Journeys
There are many journeys...
There are journeys in which we as travelers observe
the world from conventional windows of body and mind.
There is another journey which involves a recognition
that I Am much more than my old belief that my limited
body and mind is who I am. Also.. to discover that my
belief in limitation is the root of my suffering and
longing. The new journey belongs to the experience of
Non-Duality, in which are found to be two legs: the
inward, and the outward. The inward leg results in the
discovery of our Unlimited nature, and the outward leg
is a "return" to the world..beginning a life-long
realignment in our lives based on a joyful new
Understanding...

A realignment,
Mindset, posture, change in view,
Live, light heartedly.
I will do my best to not get stressed over what I cannot control, learn to breathe, I will ultimately succeed, and finally just let go.

It's like a spiritual ascent
to the life of perfection.
Like a shimmering veil,
described as emerging realignment -
between the lines of faith and action.
It's like a deep well
where the source of life depends.
On growing interest to set on a journey,
lies a strong force and the soul to be true.
It's like a foretaste of heaven
to dwell on it with happiness.
Like many pieces of literature,
they unfold realities of human struggles.
It's like poetry of the bible
that draws verses of praise, love and affliction.
Described as life's interpretation,
in today's world of culture and ambition.
It's like a thread of hidden union
that runs through contemplation.
Deep within speaks such yearning
for someone that one's heart loves more.
Over against the barriers of all sorts,
the spiritual allegory of God's Word and human action.
Behold! the pattern set for integration;
conveys harmony and love's union with our Creator.

As the sweltering heat finally simmer's down to it's most modest degree. I notice some
one resting right beside me, someone who once had a home and family, now we're
both are homeless-both are distraught. Upon the rise of the sun we are off to a jour-
ney-whereas disparity is all around us and it has us caught. Caught in the Ville, other-
wise Jacksonville, and on this journey, "all of these journey's", the homeless face
that irractical fact, that there is a epidemic that is so real. Yes, real in the Ville.
Yeah! hard to realized, harder to concieve, drugs and alcohol have laid down be-
side us. Sad, this great nation has made cost to cry & fuss. Not all have made bad
choice's and many do get up. But the tear's of a lonily man-three tears that fall on the
ground. "Homeless in the Ville", asking for help no-one is around. Homeliness is every-
where, and please don't dare think you-you and whomever, may never face this mess.
"Three tear's of a lonily Man", may one day finally see success. Then if ever one get
himself back into the realignment of the grace of God as he is called. These tears,
those fears is replaced by the assurence of the groundwork of endurence!!. For yes
they feed us, give clothe's too. Believing thing's do get better, to overcome your de-
mise, those tear's of they that need no longer cry will find shelter before the darkness
kisses the rise.

Quintain (English)
When I rose from ashes to rebuild;
Vulnerability, and Strength, came together
as the odd everlasting couple.
I was humble, and brave, and birthed Hope, and Passion
like any other navigating and narrating parent.
They’re all a part of me, and I would guard these qualities
with determination, with c o m p a s s i o n, with authenticity.
While failing and trying again,
Anxiety and fear moved in
[I allowed them to be only temporary]
While showing up,
I met doubt
[Learned to choose my friends carefully]
And while succeeding,
I learned to dance, to laugh, to feel free
so that I may remember that
I’m OK
I’m Good Enough
I’m Worth it
... even while losing.
See?
I learned the need to breathe, and rest,
at the standstill’s.
I learned to Flow, be aware, be alive.
I found Passion - the fundamental puzzle piece of the game.
And I b e c a m e
Hope.
Dreams sow seeds, and through the realignment of opportunities;
passion and hope nourished it all to come together;
to have my road rise up to meet me.
I harvested what I sowed,
remembering that any seed can root,
and any seed can grow,
which was why Mindfulness, and Kindness, were essential techniques,
while tending to my crops,
but also while tending to myself.
And Love?
Love was, is, and will always be, the Tree of Light
the guidance,
the very Force of my Nature
while I'm Becoming a part of it.

How tormented the child
who's blinded to see
a true reflection
of their unlimited capacity
To achieve to the highest
all they could reach
not to continually hear
the damage others teach
To look outside the bars
of fearful confinement
and soar towards
their own accepting realignment
To find peace inside
for honest esteem to rise
realise their stunted potential
is built on abuser's lies
To break the belief
of voices within
who continually punish
for a did not do sin
To finally see hope
unchain the true mind
break from the victim's cocoon
and achieve their 'greatest find'
'Love of themselves!'

Dramatic Verse
Stirred up mocus adrenaline bubble,
Piling sandbags against this rising tide.
Give me focus, else mouth will find trouble,
Prozac, Ritalin, or yet, a hard ride?
The shrinks call it demon anxiety,
But this mind sees another assignment.
This sacred outpouring of energy,
Pedal smashing Chakra realignment.
Jittery feet to pedals: Clip, clip, roll.
More push/strain/burn, faster the scenery.
Wind howl numbs the ears, wolf howl wakes the soul,
Knots within melt, exultant liberty.
Burst dam, torrid current has flowed away.
Glowing soul raiment for another day.

The Beautiful Changes
Wilbur
Each morning sunlight scrolls down peaks
to the flat valley floor.
Just as each instant light climbing down´s
what wasn´t there before--a rubble of rock
becoming a smooth escarpment--
So each day´s recanting. What yesterday was
a blackened ravine, this morning´s
a green gorge, glintings of a stream far below.
Under sunlight´s realignment a small dent pocked
in shadow becomes a park filled with fern
and their only just-this-day´s latticing of shade, until
Cultivated valley light tracks
the ordered rows of apple trees and plotted wheat,
the coaxed-green march of corn,
where day will resolve itself finite and complete.

The movement of madness,
The selfishness of desire,
Who is higher ? Who is fire ?
Broken ascents,
Non-existent dividends,
Where is laughter ? Where is water ?
Deformed misinformation,
Dematerialized ambition,
What is sin ? What is wind ?
Transcendental realignment,
An ages long assignment,
Which is worth ? Which is earth ?
