Emotional Freedom

fear has caused suffering when it could have caused faith

more often we should give without demanding something in return

                                         without expectations

                               strengthen our words and deeds

allowing humility to replace our ego

joy is not just the absence of pain it is continual awakening

too often our kind words fall on deaf ears

the less we know the more we learn it's a humbling fact

                  what's done is done

we wish the past never was

we try to wish it all away

we keep struggling because we ae holding on to old ideas and the results are nil

there are times when fear suddenly tears us apart just when we experience happiness

the journey of life is a happy one as long as we are willing to accept change

our feelings come from inside not from outward circumstances

                                              overwhelming emotions erode our ego

if we allow others to the right to be wrong it reaps it's own benefits

we must no longer hide behind self rationalization

we live as though we are gonna die tomorrow

once we let go of our selfish attachments we will begin to heal

The Murder of the Mimes

With painted face and silent smiles they light the night so dim,
Oblivious to their stalker and his diabolic whim.
They'd come to sunny Florida to flee Maine's winter snow
And play their silent pantomimes on sidewalks as they go.

But the analyst has programs and experiments to run;
Methodic’ly he thus connects the silencer and gun.
Onlookers claim the analyst did murder them that night,
Then calmly pulled his pencil out, his test's results to write.

But as for wherefores and the whys, when asked of him a reason,
If these are not fair game, he cries, Why call this 'Tourist Season'?
His court appointed council does the best that he is able
To win the jury's pity for this client so unstable.

This man, his sobbing lawyer pleads, was brilliant as a child.
He never was a vicious lad, and next to most, quite mild.
Such things he pondered others wondered, if indeed they never spoke them,
As, to what hue those Smurfs, now blue, would turn, were one to choke them.

The lawyer then begins to quote behavior science stats
Of those who make their living pulling habits out of rats.
If in his heart a man resorts to rationalization
A wrong might seem a right when there's sufficient provocation.

As situations worsen and confusion grows with time;
Seems right, when with a silencer, one shoots a silent mime.
If innocent is how you find there's none 'twould you disparage,
For squelching this inquiring mind would be a grave miscarriage.

Those murders were experiments, not born of animosity;
Performed were they to satisfy a morbid curiosity.
Still the jury found him guilty and to ease his troubled brain,
Ordered soon a lethal potion be injected in his vein.

When asked before the gavel rapped for any final comment,
The killer scratched his head as if his muddled mind to foment.
Yes just one further question in this form of execution
do they disinfect the needle in a sterilized solution?

Premium Member Answer Me This

Americans have overcome many great trials,
But harbor too some persistent denials.
Stubbornly clutching long-held positions,
Over time have become national traditions.
Pride in the sanctity of individualism,
Elevates in stature, creating a schism.
Unresolved core beliefs, rationalization,
Test the thinking of this citizen nation.

Answer Me This:
Why do so many use the credo that "the ends justify the means"?

Knowing that this is not always true is not a revelation.
Similarly, two wrongs do not make a right.
Provisional right and wrong are practically necessary.
Short-term gain cannot be exchanged sacrificing long-term integrity.

Answer Me This:
Why can't we resolve gender, race, religious, age and sexual orientation biases and discrimination?

Most of the world understands, we lag behind.
Nearly 7 billion people think of us as one human family.
Much of America still does not agree.

Answer Me this:
Why can't we balance individual self interest and collective interest equitably?

When individual interest substantially effects the health and safety of the collective, it must give way.

Answer Me This:
Why does our foreign policy say "my enemy's enemy is my friend"?

This faulty logic does not allow that the enemy's enemy may be another enemy.
This can lead to dire diplomatic consequences.

All these basic questions are easy to dismiss,
Eventually representing an intellectual abyss.
Our people have shown courage under duress,
Demonstrating kindness to others and selflessness.
Our ability to think, innovate, create,
Is really no matter for international debate.
The world sees our achievements one must confess,
Over centuries no other rivals America's progress.
So why, after all, can't you answer me this,
These things that we do and continually miss?

Horrific evil captured world attention

Act of war ISIS terrorists

Long night of massacre and murder

Fear and realization of dreaded word

Hidden danger scariest

Tales of bravery slowly told

World mourned for senseless tragedy in France

Information on suspects utmost importance

Sailing

Teeter tottered between dock and boat
Boarded with a box of supplies
Security and radio check completed
Sounds of people chattering, horns beeping, and seagulls squawking
Sailboat untied
Drifted away from mooring
Engine engaged
Stern exchanged for bow and headed for horizon
Navigated through channel markers and out into open water
Engine killed and sail hoisted up mast
Sound of water lapping against boat
Sailboat bobbed and turned like a piece of driftwood on the ocean
Light reflected off of metallic objects on boat and turquoise water
Fully furled sails captured the wind
Boat lurched forward and sideways
White knuckle grip on silver plated wheel
Capsize averted by keel
Headed to skyline under captains command
White capping waves and powder-puff clouds seen to the limits of vision
Visibility clear for miles in every direction
Sounds of wind whipping sail and water rushing against boat
Loss of time
Distracted by enchantment
Coast line disappeared
Gripped with panic
Fear of the unknown
Swaying between civilization and solitude
Control regained with self-rationalization
Warmth of sun felt on face
Mesmerized by the sun painting on a canvas of light blue and aqua
Dropped sail and anchor on leeward side of a small island
Snow white sand and coconut trees swaying in the breeze
Dined with silence and serenity
Dolphins played at dusk
Moon rise with waves breaking reflection
Diamonds of heaven sparkling and some falling into the ocean
Gently rocked to sleep by calm dark water

Bronx Street Corner

she became a new york city
street corner fixture
acted like its the only place to be
acted like its the place for the persecutor to begin
after all all men are guilty
none are forgiven
so she painted false hearted judges
to prop up her proposition
to subvert the natural truth

she lied when it came down to the last hours
but i was unsurprised i had seen her coming
the deception was the rationalization
means to the end
just because you can lie means you should
integrity means so much more when
there is no shame in the game
so once again i ask
just because you can lie means you should
isn't it about change
or was that just part of the lie

i walked away
on a north bronx street corner never to return
no regrets
she had sold herself at every chance
for two bits silver
for a lies chance to shine
but i will not be there to suffer the consequences
just because you can lie means you should
isn't it about change
or was that just part of the lie

No One Else Like You

You took the last train to Liverpool
and left me in the rain. I fully deserve
it this time. “Too many times I have
hurt you, dear man.” Time after
time I replay our last conversation
in my head and I fall to the floor and
 weep…weep…weep…

-for no one else but you.

You wished to get as far away from me
as you could, considering the horrible
mistakes I have made. “I didn’t mean
to hit you, dear man”. There are never
any words that can be said to justify what
I have done to you. No rationalization
can be spoken for all the physical and verbal
abuse I did…

-to no one else but you

I ask myself, “why do I let my anger get
the best of me?” I do not know. I repent
to you and pray for your atonement.
But you are far away and what am I to do
to make this right. “I didn’t mean to
talk to you like that, dear man.” I grew
up with an abusive mother always hurting
my sweet father. I could never understand
it. I promised myself I would never be like
that monster. Now I am the monster.
Now I sit here trying to rationalize my
horrid actions…

-towards no one else but you.

I confess to you, dear man, “I promise,
it will never happen again.” You were
dying from fear and caution on the
inside. I played mind games and
broke your confidence as a man. You will
never love the same again…

-because of no one else like me.

BEING HUMAN

Brave she was and searched for light in blinding darkness
Encouraged by intense desire she illuminated odds and evens
Intuitively she knew how madness was insanely normal
Not straying from the path of love and kindness empathy she
Gallivanted meandered in everlasting human passion for the truth

Humble modest and embracing she cast comfort and compassion
Unsurpassed inquisitive kindness and belonging and she ventured
Manifold on many pathways star charts pedalled mutual attraction
At many crossroads halted listened reflected glistened followed heart’s emotion
Never ending moon spoons scooping longing souls embodied Universe

Bestowed upon with gravitation sense and sensual sensation he
Entered entertained a new realm of depth enlightenment and feeling
Intertwined his wings her roots their flights of fancy grounded elevation
Nurtured natured danced nubile naked dreamscapes fantastic fantasy
Gave rise with her together to birth to freedom liberation new beginnings

He liberated consciousness from iron cages of defence rationalization
Unwound some endless loops of gloomy thoughts and doom and
Mastered majestic miracles of letting go releasing gathering complete
And unbelievably mosaic canvass stretching poetry in motion tapestry
Near fairy tale community of clarity togetherness gratitude and joy

Being lost and found in each and other in each other in enterprise
Enchantment and the aura of unexpected unchartered magnitude
Intense illuminated rainbow spectrum’s crimson violet orange indigo
New found mindful mind and minds affection intellectual pheromones
Glowed panoramic mounts and para-mounts aphrodisiac amour took shine

“Human-amour’ being two in one and one in two human humane and beautiful
Untold stories history projections narration twine of lover’s union fashioned
Multiple layers dimensions soul mates and twinned and mingled twinkling eyes
And trusted in trusted holding hands and holding him and her and them and with
No other words expressing human being’s beauty than love and love and love

Acrostic Symbols

Lunar observation - vehement eclipse
Insolvable notions suffocate ideas. Dead ends.
Naked - onerous - torrent
Dilute obviate
Silent torment inside lost lacuna
Energize vexation - every rationalization
Yourself - odious - unquiet

End.

Poetry?

Piss for poetry;
just words splashed
on hard surfaces.
Tough heads
endeavoring to break
a writer’s code
back washed when questions asked,
seeking to unfold their deepest thoughts.
Some minds derive their own solution;
Minds blown to shreds
under pressure
of piecing a lunatic’s gig-saw.
Letters fling on paper
With a fool’s claim;
Abstract discard drenched
Searching minds to solve
a psycho’s thoughts.
The verbal rationalization?
A recognizable taste results,
Somewhat like beer,
But bitter.

This is a slam. I could not find this form.

Premium Member The Justification of Insanity

The lies you tell yourself,
As you look in the mirror.
All the times you alibi the,
Justification of things you did,
In the name of insanity.
We're the decisions a motive for,
Rationalization in your,
Mind for an excuse.
Such an excuse you tend to,
Overlook as you regret the,
Choices you had to make.
How do you look within yourself and,
Forgive those who have wronged you?
I look back and I know,
I am a good person,
I don't lie,
I never cheated,
Yet now I find myself asking, Why me?
What have I done to deserve all,
This evil being brought down on me?
Just a simple question,
To a very complex answer.
Just asking,
Not really expecting an answer.
I ponder as I look into the sunset, smiling.
I wonder with so much beauty,
How can there be so much,
Evil in the world.
One answer:. The scales must balance.
Good vs Evil will always be present.
It is our job to make sure,
Evil does not prevail.

Things That Goes Bump

I bumped my head
I spin in semi-conscious state
hours advance imperceptibly,
and weightily, like glaciers.
The ceeling-fan continued
with its endless litany
thunk, thunk, thunk...
A rationalization struck a chord in my mind...
Why am I here ?
In my jammies ?
When can I go home ?
how will I get there ?.
my home carer found me,
on my kitchen floor,
I was unconscious,
and taken to hospital.

NB: close wall-cupboard doors !
I could have died that night, had my carer not found me.

The Quiet Hypocrisy

A Rant – The Quiet Hypocrisy

it seeps in through gradual osmosis

and soon is ingrained in pliant minds

it mutates and thrives in tunnels of vision

and then is fused into the fiber of unreason

the quiet hypocrisy that drips of the tongues

spouting broken words of unfathomable callousness

the mutilated reeking carcass of cynicism

obscured by the veneer of polished discourse

stinks of inaction and of insipid rationalization

the probing and prodding and splintering of each thought

curdles the shallow layer of feeling

interring the basic simple and only humanity

that is gleefully ripped into isolated fragments

the quiet hypocrisy of battles fought and of causes embraced

is plain to see in the faces of the earnest

as they cling onto their bitter loathsome prejudices

whilst buying redemption under a placard of well-meaning

the quiet hypocrisy of these selective battles waged under the flimsy pretense of caring

stinks to the highest heaven promised in mantras and duas and prayers and chants

as the spectacle of the apartheid within the mind is worn on each tailored sleeve

the choosing of these battles in the name of faith and clung onto simply because of a common creed

is a pathetic spectacle of segregated thought

buried under the folds of righteous bluster

so before you jump on that bandwagon of indignation because 'your' people are in pain

take a look at the hidden fascism that simmers just below your holier-than-thou sudden spurt of heartfelt rage

for the quiet hypocrisy that is unknowingly imbibed

is apparent for all to behold

for when the 'other' endure the injustice carried out in 'your' peoples' name

you stand mute and silently complicit for your indignation simply melts away

as the quiet hypocrisy that is firmly rooted in you

exults in pious pretences while 'your' own continue to hate, rape, pillage and slay

it saddens me that so much vitriol drips off my pen in such effervescent times

but I cringe as each moment another quiet hypocrite rants about the despotism of the 'other'

while smiling complacently and smugly and soaking in the quiet hypocrisy of remaining mute about 'my' peoples' own crimes

Premium Member Love Loathes

Love loathes the poison in me when
I just let it grow in passion
Love takes the venom off my mind
Without a justification.

But,
In me loathe also loves the poison
With all its true strength and deception
Loathe detests love in my foolish compassion
Along with my superficial rationalization.

Yet,
Love loads me with peace, taking
Loathe forever
Once love loves
Those who loathe
Love.
