The Voice of Abiding Gratitude I Shall Ever Raise

Grace and mercy
I shall ever implore
as my soul
yields to boundless passions
crosses lines
and in dire straits
found lost.
The Hand of God
I shall ever beseech
to touch my heart
turn hate into compassion
envy into contentment
vanish vanity into modesty
and to raise me up
as I fall.
The blessings of His Holiness
I shall ever pray for
a voice of truth
a valiant spirit
wearing the night to meet the dark
a beauty
oozing from deep within
seeping into souls' hearts.
The voice of abiding gratitude
I shall ever raise
an unbending power
though heavy the pain
endurance is God's reward
His guidance, a divine award
the gifts bestowed upon me, I adore
greedy I am to ask for more!
Poetry,
a gift how I wish for!
I shall ever sip its lore
as I aspire
the greatness of its core
my worries would swallow
and in its bounties
my words would wallow.

***

My gratitude to God for the many blessings one of which walking along with dear fellow poets and friends a wonderful path of Poetry and sharing its light and beauty..
Happy New Year to every beautiful soul that has touched my heart and added a lot of depth and meaning..

My Parents Did Their Best To Raise Me

My Parents Did Their Best To Raise Me

As a child, my parents did their best to raise me.
Teaching me about God, because they loved me!

They taught me God’s ways,.
This was their intention.
They read the Bible,
with an undivided attention.

Each day I awoke. I was glad mom
and dad where there.
Especially when we gathered
around the table in prayer.

The many times we spent together I haven’t forgot.
I’m so thankful for the Christian values taught.

The values helped shape me into
 what I am today.
And have helped keep me on “the narrow way.”

I believe many of these values
are being discarded.
Even before many families are being started.

A respect for God’s word seems
to be a thing of the past.
It’s no wonder many relationships don’t last.

God’s principles must be our daily ambition.
His love must be our rock and a TRUE foundation!

We must seek his purpose
and divine way of living.
It’s HIS example that must be our way of giving!

Giving to others kindness and love
 that binds us as one.
Through the witness we have in Christ… His son!

May God bless our hearts and
homes in one accord.
As we give our attention
to Jesus Christ our Lord!

We Raise Them Up

Today we sing
great joy we bring
To those sweet souls
words long forgotten

For just a while we take them
to a peaceful magical place
          a place they knew
                 a place they loved
a place to put smiles on their face

Even those who do not speak whose memories faded long ago
They’ll sing along inside their heads the words they used to know
And as the music starts to play deep inside a memory stirs
As slowly they will rock and hum before the words begin to come
And by the time we reach page two they sing along with me and you

‘Blue Moon’ ~ we sing ~ oh how they swoon
   ‘Delilah’ ~ ‘Lean on Me’
‘Sweet Caroline' ~ they start to move it really gets them in the groove

We sing with gusto they smile with joy
As memories return when girl meets boy
Our last rendition our final song
Full of joie de vivre the choir and me

We start to sing ‘You Raise Me Up’
I start to cry ~ I don’t know why it always makes me cry…
We raise the roof our souls entwine they almost touch the sky
Our spirits smile with exultation to cheers ~ applause ~ a celebration

For today we really made their day and they have made ours too
Monies sent to Parkinson’s UK we pray a cure is found one day

We bid them farewell ~ We wave them goodbye
I'm so blessed to be part of this choir
It is food for my heart each time I take part
With lovely friends who like me have “P”

Singing together in our Parkinson’s choir
I feel truly alive ~ I feel almost on fire…

Written 12th February 2020

I wrote this today after a performance by our Parkinson’s Choir, where we entertained some delightful folk who are living out their final days within a care home. It was truly inspirational…

Premium Member Raise a Glass

Ever gently the moon did rise
Distant unmoved by her cries
Alone 'neath a weeping willow
Many, many long years ago

Dreaming love would come
Waited a long millennium
That's when bolted cupid's arrow
Many, many long years ago

Sunsets to soothe her soul
As ruthless time would take its toll
Her lover's soul a rodeo
Many, many long years ago

Empty loneliness pervaded
As each final moonray faded
To love raise a glass of Bordeaux
Many, many long years ago

Please, Raise High The Bar For Love's Gifts

Please, lets' welcome light's dear return
To water soul of those that hate spurn,
Evil calls of world 's constant greed,
Thus harken to help those in need.

Please, praise those that welcome the light
Those that in truth and love delight,
Whilst striving to help fellow man,
And thus seed the truth of God's plan.

Please, raise high the bar for love's gifts
For light and love truly uplifts,
The hope and joy in daily life,
Denies dark its sharp cutting knife.

Please, let God's light onto life shine
To water souls, both yours and mine,
Growing life's flowers and much more,
Lighting path to Heavenly shores.

Please, lets' welcome light's dear return
To water soul of those that hate spurn,
Evil calls of world 's constant greed,
Thus harken to help those in need.

In Life Do Raise Your Word

The flame ignites and burns
and for life the breath yearns
All the words cease to leak
what would deflate the mystique

The soul would seek sight
powers remain finite
Life would ever teach
the core of truths to reach

The path to take fits a choice
though against an inner voice
Mind and heart deeply descend
from ashes of pain wisely ascend

So much in Life we learn
the merit built we earn
Let the soul shine in beauty
as a bright crystal ruby

An admired butterfly
on wings of Hope would fly
Faith the root of content
leave no room for lament

Blessings take not for granted
gratitude for what is handed
Faith would quieten the pain
dwelling on what gone is vain

If caught by the light of flame
Would you be the one to blame
Or just the call of fate
Led you to take the bait

In Life do raise your word
and keep the flame in your world
Think not of any end
In now have a carving hand

Radiant golden daffodils sway in the breeze

In air pure and clear

Fluffy white cotton ball clouds watch over

A pastel coloured rainbow gradually appears

Distant melody of a trickling brook

A vibrant coloured butterfly flutters passed

Chirping birds happily converse

So to the splendour of nature ….please raise your glass!

Premium Member Raise 'Em Right and Watch 'Em Lead

So many ask
   What can we do?
The world's gone to pot
   Come completely unglued

Return to the Basics
   Commandments One (and Two)
The first is Be Fruitful - 'P'ru' *
   The second, Multiply - 'Ur'vu' *

Get married, have children
as many as you possibly can
Raise 'em up right, and watch ~
One day they'll rule the land

Not the Bidens or Trumps
nor the Obamas or Clintons ~
Our children won't prevaricate or lie
Our children will stare an enemy
                             straight in the eye

______________________________________
* 'P'ru' means 'Be fruitful' and 'Urvu' means
'Multiply' in the Hebrew language, the language
of Genesis and the Old Testament. Together
they actually constitute the first commandment
in the Bible: "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the
earth and subdue it."

Raise Our Consciousness and Sparks

Raise our consciousness and sparks
By Michelle Morris
19/05/2023

Open your heart
Let the light heal your wounds
All the cracks in-between
The tears and scar tissue

Let your heartache diminish
Let your soul take flight in awe
You are so magical and blessed
Capable of your love to open every door

Embrace your happiness and joy
Embrace your life each day
Embrace every opportunity
To share your light with the Universe

Open your heart to it all
Connect with the stars in the dark
Let everything shine together forever
And raise our consciousness and sparks

It Takes a Whole Village To Raise a Child: the Farmer

It Takes A Whole Village to Raise a Child: The Farmer

It has been said that it takes a whole village
To raise a child; How does a farmer help
Families raise the children?

Farmers live near the village; and together,
Everyone helps raise the children.
How do they help?

The farmers near the village grow food to sell.
They plant, tend, and harvest vegetable crops.
Veggies: lettuce, beets, cucumber, and tomatoes
Collard greens, cabbage, onions, and potatoes
Green beans, artichoke, peanuts, the list and work
Goes on and on and on—
Farmers hire many workers to harvest their many crops.
Products are then, sold and sent to many vendors.
Although there are still some independent farmers,
Some farmers, like those in olden days, grow on rural farms.
Families, men, women, and children working together,
Using hoes, beasts of burden and hand plows to work the soil.
Children helping along side watching adult examples—
However, these days, big agriculture businesses own farms.
They use huge machinery to operate their many acres.
Food producing farms: planting and harvesting to feed masses.
Their products, like smaller independent farmers’ products,
Are sent to markets in their homelands and abroad.
In the process of providing food and cotton for people,
Agriculture businesses and farmers alike set examples.
Good or bad, the children watch wide eyed
And ears perked!

Raise Your Voice

you are ambedkarite then raise your voice,
don’t give up your rights raise your voice,
that’s not your god who created,
your dalit destiny,
man is his own creator,
and master of his destiny,

do have a reality check
see your ardent buddhist mate
succeed far beyond the rest
whats dragging you behind,
is you and your own mind,
if one man can do it,
you too can do it,

don’t complain later,
come together follow dr. ambedkar,
arise, awake and gain buddhist sight,
to conquer the caste might,
to overcome your past atrocity,
see right into future possibility,
be educated, united and agitate,
nothing else could mitigate.
