Premium Member I Am Willing,, a Miracle

To win is the trying..!' gainst despairs blank stare, a wounded earth still
rolls on..! Midst the throes of territorial vying..

Shows our shattered crystal the counsel of despair
As the pales; of circumvention, invade earth's free sod and air,

Oh.! such power we covet To maintain..! what is "right?" what is yours..
can be theirs" or is it ours..? should we fight..?

Yes it tears through our city's this division reprised,
To the call of soulless ambition, destruction quickens in stride,

And! yet not new its existence..) "for know ye satan he is a liar"
Though hidden deep in shadow; was to emerge its sly desire.

 Yet how ask us "innocent's" & why should this be?
Whilst we gaze upon its sickness and water the seeds..!

So we stand without reason, or we lay down condemned,
Yet open hearts to salvation; on Jesus depend,

Call his name now in season) let the fetters free fall,
The Miracle is "willing" none should perish is all..!

ALONE AT THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM

rose early in the morning,
indulged in a lovely quiche lorraine,
ventured out

                        alone.

silence has a sound of its own.

yes, there was the film, my first exposure -

Kristallnacht – the night of broken glass

          T
                  E

                                        S

the sterile space…

alone, i enter the “gas chamber” -
no one’s there, no screaming naked bodies.
the only fear is in my mind – i
must get out, feeling claustrophobic.

exiting and to my right, a setup -
a dummy behind a machine gun
my pulse quickens, throat is dry.

then to my left: hair cuttings, glasses, teeth, clothing -

my eyes hurt as i read – many children were thrown
                                                  into the ovens A L I V E.

the horror constricts my brain. horrible to imagine
one crazed serial murderer and this was an entire country.

cruelty has sharp claws, hidden behind breath and flesh
gifted by God. monsters have lovely hair, straight teeth,
families preparing dinner, friends cheering with

CLINKING CRYSTAL.

going home, they smile, swing loved ones around,
kiss their merry cheeks,

and they R E E K with death.

Premium Member The Magic Hourglass

April's come and gone. Now May is here; the grains in the hourglass
have already started sifting down. Dew is on the roses.
Days of linking daisies will soon begin.
Transparent skies of night will show
constellations when the
  fire-breathing dragon
comes to freckle
school-sprung
children, who
baring skin,
will run
with
glee
through
 sprinklers.
Soon enough
the kids will be
tumbling in leaves
fallen from the trees of
their back yards, and then
following bright autumn's demise,
the filtering of seasons' sand quickens till
every grain has drifted like snow, burying another year.
May is on her way; again the hourglass, like magic, is turned over.

Time is boundless when you're young.
You want school days to fly
so in summer you'll be sprung
loose upon the world. Touch sky,
Butterfly! Vitality is yours; songs unsung
will surely come by and by.

One day you go away,
leave home, friends; finally. . . Youth.
Some tread steadily; others stray
from convention's pathway, and truth
unfolds to you its grey.

Life quickens its pace.
You'll stumble or run
or walk with grace
beneath a waning sun.

Midway a rut
confronts you. . . Worse,
an unexpected cut.

Those surviving
keep arriving

spent.

This is one PD will never have seen for her contest. It is a form that requires six parts, and the form is not listed at Soup. Stanza one uses six lines with six words per line (not syllables, but words). STanza 2 is a five-line stanza with five words per line. You continue in this way decreasing lines and number of words in the lines until you arrive at a single one-word line in the bottom stanza! Maybe I will try this form one day in a contest!! (I rhymed this, but it does not have to be rhymed)

Premium Member Where Faeries Play

Mist in the distance, heart quickens to gooseflesh
Whisky Jacks perch silent, they've seen me before
Brother Wolf has been by, his scat is still fresh
Ancient eyes follow me, née jinn shapes of lore
Small clearing before me, my own private crèche
Hidden falls dance and play, their ions restore
Spray glitters like diamonds, the Sun leads the band
As time disappears, my soul breathes a free land

Reaching Deepest Oceans ,Revised

My cherished one How far will I love you
As far as where moons dissolve in deep seas
Beyond the edge of a tide's crimson hue
where your breath quickens sails with fevered breeze
Alone I 'll embark to our promised land
across long borders of unending pain
under still stars and above drifting sand
through anchored shadows of persistent rain.
Oh those foreign eyes yet not so distant
Your arms safe harbor of a warm embrace
Two hearts entwine against odds resistant
'Neath plum fog sky my lips outline your face
Water rises 'tween silent hope and time
But water falls and I will make you mine

Premium Member Despicable

Pigtails loosen yet messed,
twisted by pliant fingertips
of evening’s devilry…
tracing her budding breasts,
embers gleam from a lamplight, dim…
his jerked breathing quickens to rake
this young, tender flesh---
from pink , blood red, to pale yellow... despicable!

Invading her territory,
the blister of muffled silence
grates adolescent wails,yet…
crazed feasting of desire remains.
She quivers under a toppled quilt
brushed in wounded cotton...despicable!
And while darkness slides on metal frame,
he riles, riles with abandon,
grinning under a sinister moon
arsenic as the sweat of male hunger
to ravage a girlish body... trembling, trembling
while her cupped mouth stutters,
‘Please step-dad, no!’
‘Hush…dear baby, I am your angel,
guarding you from evil wolves..despicable!

Quietly, he pins the knob of conquest
until the frail child's porcelain doll
splatters on the floor, and then…

Premium Member Rain

Rain ©

I walk on slick shine streets
in the night with my lover.

Freshly out of bed and ravenous
for other food, he pauses and
licks the tears and rain drops
from my face.

Rain in its many moods
quickens to sweep the earth and
skies clean.

Settles on the skin like a damp
kiss. Cold, warm, sweet, clean,
sharp, rain.

Is designer bottled water
merely rain drops from afar?

The dog romps through the rain,
in his perfect raincoat, oblivious
to the wet.
Blinking owlishly when a drop
should fall into his eye.

Mysterious primates of the forest
sit forlornly, beneath the
umbrella leaf.
Forever patient as the skies
rupture with a torrential deluge.
Human-tender eyes reflect their
disgust and sadness at the wet,
messy coats they must wear.

The equine turn their haunches
to the storm to show their scorn
for nature’s tantrum.

Cats run for cover, sit
majestically removing the
wet rain from their person with a
wet tongue.

Wild fowl dance across the circle
patterns of the pond’s face,
beating their wings and singing.

They frolic and dive celebrating
the sublime circumstance of
being wet.

Man spends energy and money
to keep himself dry and safe
from the rain, darting from
doorway to doorway.

What does he fear? He won’t
melt if he gets soaked, he won’t
become ill or grow fins, and he
just might get clean.

Snow is rain in its wedding attire;
no two brides alike.

The rain drop falls into a rivulet
of other rain drops atop the
mountain.
The rivulet runs into the creek,
the creek into a stream.
The stream rushes to the river
and the river falls into the sea.

The rain drops turn to salty tears
as the journey ends.

It is said that chickens, if left out
in the rain, will lift their heads up
to the sky and watch the rain
until they drown.

Premium Member Hearts Queen Takes Stage Loving You

Silver shines back one picture of a goddess reflection
centre stage before the eyes enters soul to soul realm
standing purely hot blue flames ignite every gasp
breathing on a bed of roses sleeps beauty

The breath stops breathless apex splendour
within you precious jewels striking darkly haunting

Warmly upon the throne sitting queen
dancing with shadows crowning moonbeams
cradle of love is where I capture your space
reserved only in my dreams of you

to embrace the altar of a soul's other half destiny sings
captured in space the greatest mystery of life
invades when you sit upon these knees

Purely joy angelic smiles looking into your eyes sparkles of starlight
on a blazing trail of magic dust always there I find thee

Premium Member Rapture In Raindrops

These eyes watch the fierce rain
passing through
as earth moves, vibrating once more
my being shakes again
sensing you
somehow, yes- stronger than before

This heart, the beat quickens
with each sound
breath is taken, and so deeply
air presses, it thickens
I have found
raindrops bring you so close to me

These emotions, my heart
a quick glance
as the wild wind twists in my hair
striving to pull apart
just the chance
of me feeling you, everywhere

Premium Member Serendipitous Passion

Written: April 29, 2024

                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a riddle our love was!
we embarked on an ariose trip
with balmy stride, we undertook
Elysian and Empyreal it was
a blissful encounter
an idyllic peace is meant to be,
a serendipitous path
crystal levels of azure size,
our spirits entwined
before we ever knew
we're infatuated now,
It rings with truth.
One's pulse quickens
In every kismet,
I never expected to feel this way
I have proof of that now,
In your grip, my soul resides,
and I will hold on forever
my love is growing stronger,
you are aware of the flow of time.
Our love is euphoric,
every day, I express my felicity,
for love unforeseen,
I was bestowed with a gift,
you unexpectedly invaded my life,
It spun my world around,
wreaking pandemonium
While we were together.
In awe, my heart soars, spellbound.
love is unexpected and divine.
everything came to fruition
you delight me and warm my heart,
our hearts beat in sync.
In Existence
i feel the fear
drip from worried brows
as i close my eyes
to dreams
memories haunt
like unsettled souls
trying to find their way
somewhere
beneath the shadows
of darkness
footsteps carry
down the sidewalks
with impulse
my pulse quickens
as i watch the fog lift
like smoke from barrels
once pressed tight
against this temple
of mind
somewhere inside
this steel force
lies the existence
of death
laughing
as i escape
its grasp
with life
again
i hear its whispers
fade against time
reminding me
it will be back
Premium Member Obsessed With Flat
It's funny
How did a computer
A silly computer
A flat screened computer
Become my obsession?
I wake up
There it is
Waiting
Begging
Inticing
"Turn me on"
"play with my buttons"
I look at the bright screen
Remembering the Poltergeist warning
"Don't go into the light"
But it's so pretty!
I'm sure I'll be alright
Eyes see
Pupils dilate
Pulse quickens
As my fingers tap feverishly on keys
Traveling to different places with ease
Wondering
Who else sees
Images like these
Hers and hims and other me..s
Infected by their computer disease
Friends I connect with
Around the clock
Ticking while I'm talking
And wrestling with a sock
Late for work again
What a shock
A cup of coffee
on the keyboard spilled
My glowing obsession
is sadly killed
Emotional me
With remorse I'm filled
Then I pause until I'm chilled
I reach for my smart phone
Thankfuly I'm OK
I can keep in touch anyway
Here in my pocket
I have a way to play
A portable flat screened obsession
I can access night and day!
Premium Member The Raven of Baptism River
Far as my eyes can see, 'till lake touches sky,
Earth beats as one; Poplar, Jack Pine & Birch all
Sing with the White Throated Sparrow, our Planet's
Love songs.
Sloping (5'canopy) an ancient Deer trail along the
Baptism River (flowing into Lake Superior) I startle a
Buck during his midday Nap. Soundlessly lifting up,
He elegantly bounces away.
From above, a dark object swoops in, Brother
Raven is curious, (always a sentinel for Hawks
And Bald Eagles).  I stand motionless,  willing my
Neo-Cortex to flood my aura with peace; as I
Extend my arm and gently imitate the Raven's
Welcome call, a double-beat "Caw caw"...I am
Here Raven, I am me". My heart quickens as
He alights on my arm, talons gripping my
Forearm gently, but firmly. Cocking my head,
I look deeply into his obsidian eyes to his
Soul...he imitates me, tilting his head in unison,
letting my gaze enter. Images from high race
Thru my mind...the rushing river...undulating
Tree tops...in an instant, we have become
Brothers of the wild, as I softly shake my arm
To set him free.
"I am me, Brother Raven, I am me"
