In Existence
i feel the fear
drip from worried brows
as i close my eyes
to dreams
memories haunt
like unsettled souls
trying to find their way
somewhere
beneath the shadows
of darkness
footsteps carry
down the sidewalks
with impulse
my pulse quickens
as i watch the fog lift
like smoke from barrels
once pressed tight
against this temple
of mind
somewhere inside
this steel force
lies the existence
of death
laughing
as i escape
its grasp
with life
again
i hear its whispers
fade against time
reminding me
it will be back
