Best Punctuates Poems
in the frail blue dusk,
that comes as prelude to dark,
there's a fragile lapse,
one period so oblique,
it's called neither night or day.
this brief moment comes
as if designed to be our
period of adjustment,
before darkness wraps its arms
and the daylight lets us go
there is grace and ease,
that punctuates the twilight,
pausing long enough,
so that we are given chance
to embrace what we can't see.
when last,... it's my time...
to walk in frail blue dusk
one last time, I pray
to have the same exquisite
period of adjustment

From one poet to another
Your words in me are a thunder
That fills me soul with wonder
As my open heart you plunder
Though I cannot see your face...
Through my poetry covered lace
Your deep feelings I can trace
My heart beat quickens a pace
Your every line scintillates
My wayward heart subjugates
My inner thoughts punctuates
My very soul confiscates
Your heart’s rhythm and rhyme
Not bound to moments of time
Makes each encounter sublime
Holds me with imagery fine
Addiction is my sweet game
And your poetry is to blame
My life is no longer the same
My high begins with your name
Each word is just meant to please
Makes me fall down on my knees
My hunger I must appease
Oh, feed me now, if you please!
I travel the paths of your mind
Treasures of worth my great find
To all else I am now blind
Our twin souls have intertwined

Monorhyme
A clamorous stream of jar fly voices punctuates the dusky air,
their timbale orchestra madly vibrating raucous sound.
Hand brushing hand, we stand in the garden’s waning light,
where fall’s pungent, spicy extracts flick from curling dry-leaf tongues,
needling tears that veil your tender gaze.
We are burning the nightshade garden, clearing summer’s fading feast,
our fires lanterns on a hallowed meadow eve;
sharp scented, sinewy tomato plants pitched to hungry flames hiss like snakes,
the stray fruits sizzling, then exploding in bursts of juicy seed.
You lean toward me and shadowed silhouettes twine together like old vines.

It's mid-summer again with its mild and moist morning,
Soon whisked away by the mid-day sizzling breeze.
The gorgeous wildflower drinks of the sun's offering,
While butterflies sip of the lily blossom's wine on the lees.
Mid-summer is a time when love beads of rain cool the air;
The gentle beat of its falling seem a song of beneficence.
Then using the rainbow with his incomparable epic flair,
The Great Poet punctuates this grand verse with elegance.
As the birds are resting from their morning serenade,
They now allow the cricket its course at center stage.
The songbirds are cooling their throats in the shade,
Letting the hot sun with its prickling heat fiercely rage.
As the summer sun begins to appear as sweet red lips,
Like a dessert of refreshing sugared berries before me.
The evening breeze cools and my brow no longer drips,
As my eyes grow heavy and I dream of the new day to be.

Risen from the ashes of a time gone by...
Out of the 1900's and brought back into the present,
recreation of a simple, peaceful time of moments past.
The grand entrance with its pebble stone drive ways,
circular,
flower trimmed with springs and the newest guest arrivals.
Long walking porches out of New Orleans line each floor,
three high.
Soft strolling decking, leading to the stairs down to the lush lawns of rolling greens below,
darting in and out from behind each other,
in the defilade of the landscape.
People walking the trails around the property,
Bocce ball, lawn darts, kids running with kites.
Fire pits lit are at night,
burning red oak
Chocolate Smore's dripping over the open fire
mixing into a smoke tinged aphrodisiac as blankets are drinks are passed around like camp fire stories.
Natural springs lead to the pools of clear water,
mist punctuates the air,
the intake...
walking around this past, while here...Now....Present
What a gift it is...

the moon in full bloom
gilded beams dance on water...
gleaming tides rising.
Rolling waves of cobalt cascade ashore
subservient to time and nothing more.
And the boom of crashing breakers punctuates
the deafening silence.

Night steals the light like a brazen thief,
acting purely out of jealousy;

I tried to hold onto you but could not—
You slipped through my fingers as water will
When run through a sieve. And how like the plot
Of some dime-store pulp it all seems now -- shrill
Yet so furtive. I tried to be humble,
To seem nonchalant; but came off shallow,
Unfocused, both surprised when you’d grumble
And childishly petulant and callow,
I’m embarrassed to confess. Now you’ve left:
No chance now of reconciliation;
No excuses now, howsoever deft,
No third party’s neat adjudication
Can heal the rift between us anymore.
Nothing tastes so bitter as one’s own words,
Or punctuates quite like the slamming door,
No matter how tenaciously one girds
Oneself to bear the shock. Regret may well
Be futile, but it’s hard indeed to take--
Like some malignant fairy’s baleful spell
Which no consoling words can ever break.
NB: The word "not" in the first line is meant to be stressed.
