Best Ps Poems
6 years ago, I wrote limericks about 5 PS poets. Today, I've posted
about another 5 and will continue to add more... before 6 years.
I tickled funny bones of five Souper men
So, I gave thought to trying it once again
In the order they replied
My sarcasm was applied
As I gently heckled them with ink and pen
First, Tom Cunningham, who "liked my collection"
To femme limericks he had no objection
But now it's his turn
Tom, forgive the burn
I heard you're headed for a house of correction
Jerry T Curtis said to "keep them coming"
But I think that lately he's been slumming
He's all aflutter
And starts to stutter
When his lady friend starts his heart strumming
Then there is the poet of romance, Tim Smith
His sweet words of seduction are not a myth
I know it to be truth
Don't ask me. It's uncouth
I don't kiss and tell so I'm pleading the fifth
John Gondolf said my limericks made him "chuckle"
His comments are always filled with honeysuckle
But if he wants a date
I'll have to castigate
I have a black belt in the use of my knuckles
"I needed smiles and giggles," said Greg Barden
His poems are flowers blooming in a garden
But some words are couture
Fertilized with manure
Now I guess I'll have to beg for Greg's pardon
The new additions...
Like a brother he comes to my defense
This man wears no guise and has no pretense
Mark Koplin, misunderstood
A modern-day Robin Hood
To me he shines with rays of effulgence
There's a man who took me under his wing
Says what he thinks. Doesn't hold back a thing
Danny Turner, my friend
A helping hand he'll lend
For offering kind words, he's a wellspring
David Kavanagh, true friend from the start
Encouraging advice, he does impart
Throws Monoku lines like spears
I raise a glass to him ~ cheers!
Loyal, his word. A man with a good heart
Canadian, Vaso, we don't see oft
Art doesn't come across as being soft
But has a tender heart
For countries torn apart
His poetic words should never be scoffed
His funny thoughts overflow in a Flood
Terry writes humor that's never a dud
Risque, and sometimes not
His stories have a plot
Rumor has it that he's known as 'The Stud'
Gentlemen, I ask forgiveness for this spoof
My humorous parodies should be the proof
That I like all of you
And don't mind if ya do
Get even in your own limericks of reproof

PS - IT’S POETRY
Not merely words laid on a line
by blotting pens, by pencils fine
nor forms in perpetuity
teased with ambiguity.
It’s more, or less, depending on
the time of day, sunset or dawn
forever of the present mind
seeking what it cannot find.
For beauty is an “ugly” thing
a constant poets rarely bring
to broken lines of unfreed verse
to garbled words both sweet and terse
and yet it finds a way to bloom
across a page, throughout a room
crisp roses that will never wilt
petaled words - poetic quilt.
So write, erase, delete, reform
the present now become the norm
and you, the poet, must be free
‘cuz after all…. IT’S POETRY!

My life as a grade school teacher
Is like a life-long student and schooler
Always working with colors, pens and papers
While taking care of kids as their second mother.
Still, I oftentimes sleep quite late at night
Check exams, plan learner’s lessons that delight
In the morning, I need to wake up early
To be at school before our flag ceremony.
As I impart my knowledge and skills
I learn a lot of things, head down to my heels
I learn to be more patient and understanding
More hardworking, very kind and loving.
I learn by experience, seminars and discovery
Embracing new teaching techniques and technology
Continue enhancing all my talents and creativity
In many areas, to teach my learners efficiently.
I’ve got so many other exciting multiple roles
Classroom maintenance, nurse, guidance counsellor
Dancer, singer, artist, director, actress or actor
A lot more, to mold and shape learner’s life and future.
I also play with my learners like a big kid
To promote relationship, inculcate values, I also read
Despite our emotional farewell on every graduation
They’ll always come, visit me in my school-roles repetition.
I believe, teacher has a schooler’s life that'll last
Only after a long journey loaded in a carabao's drawn cart
Grand graduation will come with unimaginable fulfillment
And achievement felt in the heart only on age of retirement.

Was it a sheer accident that I became a poet?
Poetry, I didn’t pursue, rather it cropped up
As a late-night guest, quite unexpected.
A teacher’s career, I have been bent upon
And prefer to be known more as a teacher than a poet.
In my eyes, teachers are a venerable sort,
Happy that I could belong to that ‘special’ lot,
Instilling in young ones - newer insights gleaned,
Enriching their lives - with atoms of knowledge pooled,
Brightening their paths - with millions of lanterns lit,
Rowing them away - from the perilous shoals of life,
And leading them to be anchored on safer shores!
A teacher sure stands taller above,
Every other mortal who serves!!
Numerous are the guise a teacher has to put on,
And cleverer the tricks she has to play,
To tackle the wards in her all-out care,
And launch them out into a world to fare.
I have played all at once myriad roles,
More of a mentor and not just a tutor,
A physician who heals, a nurse who tends,
A parent who cares or a pal who shares,
A patron who supports or a lawyer who argues,
A scholar who learns and a master who trains.
As Christ taught his disciples - with parables many,
As Socrates instructed the youth - through endless queries,
As Sullivan led Keller - to the new dawn of light,
As Aesop enlightened kids - with countless tales,
I strove to be a TEACHER.
An erudite soul with a mission!
A sculptor who sees an angel, veiled within a rock!
An architect building an edifice to last a lifetime!
A warrior uncompromising in war,
On Ignorance – the most ignoble foe!
I don’t know where I presently stand,
Nor do I know how my students would rate me,
Though often floundered or failed to act,
In the manner I ever so longed to do,
I would rather be a TEACHER all my life,
A ‘guru’ out and out, from hilt to heel.
And I would wear that mantle with pride!

Music comforts the soul, cures that restless spirit.
Some songs will make you crank up the volume so everyone can hear it....
Music can alter moods, and talk to you.
Some songs have the remedy for what you're going through....
Music is good medicine for a broken heart,
and yet some songs can turn around and tear it apart....Music has brought people all
around the world together;
And some melodies will keep playing on forever....
Music adds to the intensity of making love.
Fuels that fire, you can't seem to get enough of....
Music makes me sad, glad, happy and mad.
Some songs make me pick up a pen and pad....
Music makes me wanna pull a woman close, kiss her nose, remove her clothes,
suck her toes,
And with Janet Jackson still singing "That's the Way Love Goes;"
Me and her make our own music video until her sweet nectar overflows!!!!!
Note: To my fav. soupers, I don't know your preferred genre of music and sometimes age
plays a huge role in a persons tastes in music. Since I don't know everyone's age, I'm going
by gut feeling and the personalities I read on my comments and my soupmail. If you guys
download music; I've written one song for the following people. A song from me to you, so
to speak. Be open minded and listen to the whole song. Enjoy. #1 Marty "Devil Woman" by

Peace and war
Often lived here over the years
Even though initiated by the few
Tears were created between many
Relaxation and growth was the PS purpose
Yet they in themselves had to be fought for
Still, with time, peace would prevail
Offences are still doled and taken
Until all are free of mistakes so it will be
Perfection is not what brought us here, poetry is
PSing since '06 ;)

Light Verse
There are a few gentlemen I admire
Whose lovely poems set my heart afire
Though we live far apart
They all captured my heart
Their romantic verses make me perspire.
I dare not expose each poet by name
Cuz I'm afraid that would make them fair game
To the women of soup
Who would make a swift swoop
To put flirty moves on each manly flame.
I'd best keep their IDs close to my vest
And imagine their heads upon my breast
While I pretend their lines
Are for me... valentines
And my breasts only used as a headrest.
Jenna
I dreamt I was lying on her soft breast
As cushions go they were simply the best
Then there was a loud beep
And I woke from my sleep
But I'll never forget her treasure chest...
Tom C.
One's lucky to pass the gravity test
With breasts able to use as a headrest
When they start to swing low
Reaching to your elbow
Those fantasy men will not be impressed.
Belle B.
Some soup poetesses leave me cold
Others make me feel lusty and bold
Then one I met
But to my regret
She just craved my bulging--billfold!

Jan and Darren joined the poetry soup site
Worked on our own poems in our own right
Started to collaborate on works together
Hope this happy union lasts forever and ever
When we joined soup they put out the 'welcome mat'
Lovely comments from PD, Anne Lise and also SKAT
Encouraging new writers is their wonderful gift
Joining poetry soup gives our hearts a lift
Being on the site we have found a lot of fun
In our poems together I’ve just become a mum
Darren is a perfect ‘husband’ and is a doting dad
He always makes me smile but his jokes are often bad
Friendship has blossomed, we've shared laughter and tears
Talked of what the future may hold and our worries and fears
We've discussed our youth and the things we did back then
So little we would change if we could live our lives again
Jan is very happily married, her lovely son is grown
Darren is deliriously happy building a life of his own
The beauty of soup is the welcome they give
Encouraging friendships that last as long as we live.
When we joined soup they put out the welcome mat
Lovely comments from PD, Anne Lise and SKAT
Encouraging new writers is their wonderful gift
Joining poetry soup has given our hearts a lift
Writing with others adds a new and rare poem quality
My collaboration with Jan means the whole world to me
We have intuition, though that may sound absurd
Sometimes I know what she'll say before she's written a word .
We have our page on which we write but love writing as a team
Creating something that might make us giggle or share a sweet dream
You'll find us on Jadazzle out there hoping to make friends
Writing poems we hope you find easy to comprehend .
When we joined soup they put out the welcome mat
Lovely comments from PD, Anne Lise and SKAT
Encouraging new writers is their wonderful gift
Joining poetry soup has given our hearts a lift

Lyric
To all who see the good in me
All that is lovely, sweet and fair
To all who will not see the thorns
Who nourish me with love and care
To dear ones who have loved my rhymes
Who with their words have spread the cheer
To all those who have seen and loved
This poetess consumed by fear
To all those who have cared to write
About me in their poetry
Who’ve dedicated words to me
And filled my heart with ecstasy
To all those whom my heart holds dear
Who are my sweet and precious friends
I send this message out to you
In it my love with yours now blends
This Christmas time I thank my God
That in my world you play a part
You bring me sunshine after rain
With joy you help my day to start
You must know this and thus be sure
Each one of you, I do adore
My life would not as wholesome feel
Had you not drenched its very core
You move me and you make me see
A wonder that's beyond compare
What would I do without your gifts?
I’d surely sink in dark despair
Each one of you, a sparkling light
Upon my heart’s dear Christmas tree
You light my days and shine at night
By giving of yourself to me
And so, tonight my gift to you
Is simple lines wrapped in my love
A very merry Christmas all
I plead from heaven up above
Healing and health and happiness
And wishes that your dreams come true
This place to me, my second home
And it’s because of folks like you.

Silent One,
he is a shivering summer soul
his inspiration, while garden stroll,
exposure of nature readily available
to his pen on a canvas painting.
Sunshine Smile,
her spun yarn snow covered paths
an inspiration of her warm soul,
of brilliant colors that become her lines;
sipping sweet nectar from budding roses.
Victor Buhagiar,
he is the poet of love and restless thoughts,
a mind of love and lost love, and so very much to give.
Words of dreams full of imagery, and feelings.
He steals your soul to engage and meandering around beside him.
