Best Pretties Poems
Twas the night before Christmas, when all thru the Soup bowl,
Not a poet was writing, not even the musing mole.
All their pens were hung by the chimney with bubble gum,
Hoping Winged Warrior would lose and let them win some.
The poetesses were nestled snuggled in their beds,
With visions of their makeup now surely spreads.
While Silent One was awake only took a silent nap,
Waking Bobby May, who finally took his crappy crap.
Noises from the lawn where SOS was making such a clatter,
He was speaking in Klingon about the Borg mad hatter.
I then slipped by the window and dropped my hash,
Tore open the cupboards to hide the stinky stash.
Brenda Chiri & Susan Ashley were making angels in the snow,
For they were locked out from the bowl and had no place to go.
Lin Lane & Jan Allison got up early to make some grub,
Then left extra early to go to the local pub.
Brandy Nicole and Anne-Lise were looking at the moon,
While the Bard and John Hamilton were playing a chilly tune.
In the morn, Heidi Sands & Connie Wong were ready to write,
Dreaming of winning a contest all through the night.
Charles Messina & Chris Green having an eggnog beer,
As St Victor Buhagiar feeds the lazy reindeer.
A knock at the door and all started to stare,
Why its newbies Midnight Aurora and Hello There.
Now Gershon! now, Andrea! Now, Besma and Regina!
On, Sandra! On, Kimmy! On Caren & down under Maria!
Next time bring deodorant for it smells like a horses stall,
I need some fresh air, fly my pretties fly away all.
...sorry, if I left anyone out...will get you next time!...
~~~Happy! Holidays! Everyone!~~~
I’ve been missing you
Especially today
It’s your birthday
I’m going to our favorite place
Down by the lake
I bought a balloon for you
Of course it’s red
Your favorite color
Because you somehow believed it’s the pretties color
So here I am laying in the grass amongst flowering shrubs down by the lake
Holding your red balloon
Lost in thoughts of brokenness
Unaware of tears trickling down my face
I wanna scream your name
It hurts too deep
Darling hear me please
Although I don’t know how far heaven is
I’m sending up your red balloon
I’m sorry it’s smeared with blue tears
But it is filled with my love and our memories
So be ready to catch it darling
Your red balloon
She had the utmost prettiest of pretty things
Ruby bracelets, broaches of garnets, diamond rings
Some looked up to her because of her fancy clothes.
Who these thinkers were providence only knows.
I waited for her to make her move, not yet impressed.
She was all of that, beautiful, and gorgeously dressed.
I suspected she would be vile, selfish, insanely mean.
But instead she had kindness such as I had never seen.
I miss you momma
Hi, momma
I'm your little baby girl
Momma
I’m here keeping a loving watchful
Eye on you momma
We don't want you to worry
I
Wish I could have been there
But now since I’m a full pledge
Angel
My duties are to love the mortal
Baby Angels
Momma I have my wings I want
You to know
Do you miss me momma?
Momma I kiss you last night while
You slept
You were crying in your sleep
Don’t worry momma
Please don't worry
Your babies are ok
I’m doing fine
I get to play with other angels like
Me
Just babies you see
We fly
We laugh
We go to one field of happiness
To another
Just been happy children momma
So don’t cry momma
Oh yes there is a lot of us here
Momma
I have many many friends
I have my wings momma
Did I tell you that?
Momma I seen my brother yesterday
He said he love and miss you too
But no need to be so sad momma
He’s ok
He worries for you a lot
He hate to see you cry
You know momma he visit you a
Lot
He sprinkles little roses fragrances
Around your room while you sleep
He said it makes you rest better and
I think it do
My brother and I was bouncing on a
Cloud momma
We look down and we seen you kneeling
Down by the brook
He cried because you were
Crying and he talked with God about you
So he knows you are ok
He said he don’t want you to worry
Momma
Momma you will be ok
Momma I love you momma me and my
Brother we do
So momma don’t cry
We picked you the pretties rose in heaven
Momma
We laid it on your pillow
So don’t cry momma
Mother’s day will be happy for you
We planned it out momma
We want you to have a happy mother
Day
We'll be there by your side momma
We are never to far from you momma
Beauty is
We moved to a new house
I carefully removed the uglies
And left the pretties in the small garden plots
Under the windows
Mom came over for a visit
And asked why I had such well-tended
Weeds out front
Who knew?
Queen Anne’s Lace was once
Prized
And brought over to the New World
Still pretty,
I guess she’s now considered
A pest
Who knew?
Same goes for rabbits in Australia
Puritans in the Americas
People on this planet
Who knew?
Somebody somewhere
Must have thought it was a good idea
At the time
The humble dank, dark hall of death
Was quiet, peaceful and stocked.
With corpses bandaged, naked and cold
And not even close to rottening.
Leather faced pretties and fly-blown chaps
Beneath the sheets snow white.
They soon will rise from sudden sleep
And roam this earth once more.
Behold these brown flesh dregs demised
And smell their morbid fragrance.
That topical scent that's sprayed and meant
To end all toxic gases.
When the frigid earth has brokened, the dirt still dry
So soon the dead will bloom.
From crumbling dirt and even worse
They'll struggle free from tombs.
Scartching cloths from decades past
Within their caskets torn
With dirty filthy finger nails in need of manicures.
As mourners moon comes drawing near
Before the grim owls call.
They'll toil the earth in search of him
Who mocked the dead and cold.
You'll cringe and scream and tears will stream
On the Herbringer of your end.
You'll never again lay a cold bologna sandwhich
On the chest of the dead again.
Gather 'round the campfire me pretties,
Let me tell ye a tale,
One not of shining knights or flying fairies,
But of a menace more vile than minotaurs or spooky skellies,
I speak of the bane of banter,
The marrer of masterpieces,
The incinerator of inspiration,
The enemy of enlightenment,
The ruiner of romanticism,
The scourge of Socraticism,
The nemesis of narratives,
The devastator of dictation,
And just an all around bad guy,
So be wary my pretties,
Just when you're about to reveal the punchline,
The order's been swapped,
I tell you in hushed whispers my friends,
Of the dreaded Tyops!
Halloween Night
Before the night is done;
Out before the setting sun,
Children good and mean, one by one
In Halloween costumes run
Through the neighborhood
Yelling, Trick or Treat. Feeling good,
Gleaning as much candy and fruit cache;
Laying out their mischief play
Before the night begun to grey.
With a spell curtains close and lights banish,
Children and grown-ups vanish,
Under nights cloak of slumber,
And the spell of Halloween does encumber.
Death rattles the bones
Under their headstones,
Moans of unknown beckon
With every growling second.
In the darkness the ferocious winds howl
Echoing voices of lost souls, moods so foul.
Trees tremble, creak, and shudder
Losing their limbs as leaves flutter.
Shadows run and hide into the depth of nowhere,
As Frankenstein and his bride round the square.
Werewolf painful howls of transformation he cannot bear.
Cackling witches and their feline
On flying broomsticks, above the tree line.
Bats and ghost fly in front of the laughing moon
Fly, fly my pretties, fly! and non to soon
Before the excitement of sins.
Till at last the day begins.
As I stared despairingly at the transom,
my daughter declared, as she gave a smile winsome:
“I wouldn’t stand for such a name, if I were Janell!
It’d be okay of course, if Janell refers to the vessel…”
Captain disdain abounds in fields chock-full of chauvinism
A female pursuing a career within must be into masochism!
Put on a brave face girl, and grit your teeth shut
The ponytail pretties better go or you ‘are’ the promoted ****
As seriousness cannot be equated with feminineness,
it is best you strut like you’re swinging two pe!!ses…
Now it’s nice to see more of the younger generation,
accept it’s work and education, not gender identification!
Blooming in the open fields,
pretties fertile mother earth yields,
swaying with a gentle breeze,
a symphony on which my heart feeds,
A tender, loving view for all,
sweet scents you purchase at the mall,
fed with the fullness of the skies,
that drift up high before our eyes,
They feast on the light from up above,
and drink from waters swirling deep below,
Their lushness breathes life to earthy greenery,
Flowers are for you and me.
When I look at him,
It's like the warmest of summer days
with the harshness of winter.
He's plastic, it seems.
He's like an immortal,
free of all mortal blemish
behind his gleaming screen
or the camera lens.
I wish to be closer, I feel it in my bones,
But the sea parts us
Unmercifully.
The damned natural barrier.
But when he sees me, he sees the gorgeous picture,
Oh, blasted lucky picture that graces my image.
The photo that looks nothing like me.
The charming picture.
I look thin and beautiful.
The typical man's idea of beauty.
The one that shows me with daring rebellion,
But portrays what I see as vulnerability.
So if he sees me, he won't know me.
I'll just be a passing body in the crowd.
Another sillhouette
in the sea of Pretties.
When you came into my life, you gave it all to me
You promised love and said it all could be
You stood on the edge, girl you say, you can come or you can stay
But if you let me go my dear, this will never be as clear
Your body was like no other
So pure, So White, So very delicate at night
Your burn was deep and sharp
I felt the pain and knew just then, I would die for you again and again
My soul I threw away to you
My stranger inside me grew stronger
I felt my knees buckle under
You said your recipe is real and undeniable
Try me once baby, its like your on fire
We lived the life
I chose the night
Just you and me running through it all
We slid, We cried, We walked, We lied
We gave it all away to them
No more pretties to call our own
Oh lover, my whitelover where are you now
Did you crawl deep into another
Or have you to fallen for the lover
I tried that once to bring you back
Addiction threw your body down in lust
All you have to say is, Im sorry little blue eyes but do I know you?
Much beauty under teal skies
Mass unaffected pretties
drenched in poise sunshine and charm.
Light a flame, America and keep it burning bright.
Let your voices be a chorus that echoes in the night.
For too long we have lived in shameful ignorance,
lining like sheep whenever government takes a stance.
Well, I’m an old hippy, marched with Dr. King,
took hope in our stand and the song we had to sing.
Politicians lie, my pretties, lie and cheat and steal,
leaving wounds upon this nation that will never heal.
Educate yourself, go the voting booth with a plan.
Don’t vote for someone unless you know the man.
We stand on the brink of a global holocaust. . .
can’t even begin to calculate the death and cost.
War is a toy politicians play with till it wears out.
We have to stop it and give peace a joyful shout.
Another election creeps closer every day, every way.
If we want a decent president, learn how to pray.
Learn what your rights are and what you believe.
Do your part - before a nation is called to grieve.
