'Sell out your country' is what they said,
As water kept dripping on his head.
Two days had passed since he went to bed.
'Sell out your country' is what they said.
Three days passed since he had been fed.
Denial of his Rights had not been read.
'Sell out your country' is what they said,
As water kept dripping on his head.

POLITICS

Propriety demands - we do not speak
Of others, either strong – or weak
Lest in the foray of the quest
Insiders, fall from grace, of safety’s nest
Take residence alongside taloned beast
Intent on making you the winner’s feast
Cloned puppets denying there are strings
Surrendering their truth to cell phone rings.

I’m confused
At times bemused
By the turn society’s taking,
Sexuality so complex
Gender needing further context
All my preconceptions breaking.

Are cows good
On this we brood
Carbon footprint the new quandary,
Should we fly
Or cycling try
A simpler world I recall fondly.

Left or Right
The current fight
Politicians all grandstanding,
Little caring
Overbearing
Of our hearts and minds demanding.

To take part
Is quite an art
Every word now needing measure,
Opinions rue
So fast to sue
No surprise the past I treasure.

The Congress it seems had no bathrooms.
They just held it or country was doomed.
They passed regulations
for eliminations
then out of both their chambers they zoomed.

Quis, Ego

Quis? Ego
~ on the anointing of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

So what if it was just a drunken dare
Quis? Ego! Made at Eton long ago
I dub thee Boris of the Golden Hair
Servus, servum, servi, servo, servo
So what if afterwards they went to town
and ordered tiny sparrows stuffed inside
six rare exotic birds and chased it down
with virgins' tears in mouths so open wide
one could believe designed to fit the poor
in at such times there are no partridges
Amo! Amas! Deus! Deum! and more
Dom Perignon! To Boris! Boris is
The Chosen One! So long ago, the dare
At Eton, or more probably, elsewhere

Republicans? Immoral! Lord, that's all there is to that!
Like in the song, "Their heads are full of cotton, hay, and rags,"
Though Democrats (not better) hate to stoop so low to win,
They feel Christ's death, seek brotherhood, at times admit to sin.

Republicans are arrogant, love "trickle down largess,"
To get rich, they'd leave others bare, stark naked, not a stitch,
The way to know Republicans? They idolize control,
While Democrat's may lust, they sometimes think about their soul!

Republicans say Dems enable poor to stay a mess,
No doubt of that! We think, at least, we ought to offer chance,
Good school for kids, a right to vote, and tools for basic health,
A job that pays a decent wage, slaves owned aren't proof of wealth.

Republicans, some Harvard trained, smoke existential snow,
Think they are free, there is no sin, the mind is only art,
God loves the rich; there’s just one hitch, their virtue’s just a mask,
Their s--t stinks too, their Waterloo, salvation from a cask.

The Democrats parse life with guilt, long for utopia,
In saving others save themselves, they won’t let justice be,
They think that they can honor God by pinning truth to mat,
It’s vanity when man attempts to woo Jehoshaphat.

Though ‘Right’ thinks Rich means they own God, I know God loves them still,
The ‘Left’s’ self-serving brand of justice proves they have no cure,
Both Left and Right think they must fight to prove the other wrong,
The love of others all day long is Heaven’s only song.

Politics and Corona

Corona is becoming a field
              For cultivating politics,
Political crop may be ripened
             Putting risk to the public.

Hindu-Muslim deadly virus
             Is dangerous than corona,
It is time for global piece
Not to do ‘Baba’ or ‘maulana’.

Man may be mortal
             But humanity remains alive,
Where humanity got raped
            Human chain can’t survive.

I adore innovative politics
            That strengthen our race,
We should leave that game
           That blackening our face.

Please don’t try to cut
           The branch where you sit,
Once arrow left from bow
            You lost control on it.

You may rule like ‘Hitler’
            Putting the nation in danger.
When nation will be ravaged
            It will become your killer.

Polio and small pox got killed
               Starvation taken long rest,
Please believe both God & science
                They will sure give best.

Don’t try to catch the fish
              Putting poison in water,
Once whole water will be poisoned
You will be no more forever.

Premium Member A Cheap Pleonasm: Make America Great Again

America has been GREAT, great for the last two centuries.
All right, America has been the greatest among all countries,
For a long time. MAGA is a cheap pleonasm, which just
Won the most contentious election in American history.
The problem, as widely reported, Trump is corrupt, unjust,
Sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, vociferous, and nasty.
This is the first time that we have such a hyperactive loose cannon,
Who is despised by his own political party. He is an orchestra
Of unusual lyrics and melodies. The man is like an untamed lion.
As a reminder, money, strength and power are not everything.
Humility, wisdom, decency, and common sense, in America,
Are extremely crucial and important, to make the dogs sing.
A president should be a role model, a beacon for children;
A fighter, a problem solver, a savior for the entire electorate;
A leader, a giant not a bully, a diplomat for the world to emulate.
The jury will be deliberating; America does not need to be 'great again';
We need an improved economy, mutual respect, controlling the flow
Of immigration, money, illicit drugs, and put our ducks in a row,
To be a haven for all, regardless of race, color, gender and ethnicity.
America is the greatest, I am not lying; simply ask the Statue of Liberty.

They Sold Your Soul

There’s a place that exists
between Hell and Hell
We’re doing the balancing act
on the wobbly center rail
trying hard to keep our sanity

America, I’d pledge allegiance
if I only knew which country owns us
I’ve asked the questions
never get the straight answers
The answers they give only
turn out to be more questions

My father told me there would be
a light at the end of the tunnel
But it’s only the street lamp
on the corner of Lies and Mistrust
When did life get so God damned hard
that it’s easier to believe them
than it is to search for the truth

There are times when I can feel
the sun shining on my back
But it all too quickly
fades back to hate and blame

Meanwhile they all run around
screaming silence at each other
Each one wanting to know why
the other can’t understand the lie
when it’s as plain as the pimple
in the ass crack of their insanity

It itches, but they won't scratch it
for fear we’ll smell
the crap on their hands

So, somebody please tell me
where did the innocent children go
I know they were just here
I heard them laughing and playing
out on the back lawn
But when I turned back to look
they were suddenly gone

They’re in the bathroom
with a razor slash across their wrists

Because they know that
the big white house
on top of the hill
is just a meeting place
where the world’s auctioneers
give what is for sale
to the ones in line
who have the most cash

Yearning To Breathe

We are the workers of this nation,
making less than it takes to survive.
We are the farmer in the cornfield,
the cowboy out on a cattle drive.

Factory drones at minimum wage,
the waitress that’s making even less.
We are all looking for that ladder,
to help us out of this stinking mess.

We are the colors of the spectrum,
We’re more than just white, black, red, or brown.
We are all that has been tossed aside,
and everyone that has been knocked down.

We’re the fooled, hoodwinked, and bamboozled,
We believe in the American way.
Westill think that we can get ahead,
as long as we work hard and we pray.

We’re one of millions yearning to breathe,
there’s no greater want to be desired.
There is no refuse more wretched than,
we, the poor, homeless, hungry, and tired.

I understand why you are angry,
because I am angry as hell too.
With the information they give me,
it’s hard to tell what’s lies or what’s true.

I look to politicians to help,
they ask me what I’m prepared to pay.
Sorry, but our hands are tied they cry,
at least until next election day.

We are the future of our nation,
that is trying hard to still believe.
If we will work hard and pay the price,
then America will still be free.

Whispers of Change

In America there is talk
of changes coming
Revolution is the tune
that we've been humming

We’re all standing on the ledge
they're trying to push us over the edge
To politicians standing below
just waiting for us

It started with whispered words
in backroom places
From the shadows it took to the streets
through nameless faces

At the start the song was soft and low
but then our emotions began to grow
Now we’re shouting the truth
to all who’ll hear us

Our leaders have showed us
that they are useless
They proved long ago how they have
a hatred for us

Discriminate against poor or old
by turning healthcare into gold
Our human rights will all be sold
to line their pockets

In America, we must act while
we still have the right
It’s not too late for us all
to stand up and fight

Join us now and yell their name
they’re the ones who hold the blame
Without change it will be
the ending for us

Don’t let the government take
our freedoms from us
Let us set the world ablaze
with our chorus

Our voices ring out through the night
to show the world what’s wrong or right
Together we can make
a better place for us

Is This the Best We Can Do

in a country of 335 million people
one of the richest more educated places
on the entire planet

the largest economy,
the best military
still for now a democratic country

is this the best we can do
choose between three old white men
as our next leader
and the leader of the world ?

a clearly delusional NYC ex reality TV star president
still talking about draining the swamp
and fighting the evil deep state
destroying the government in the process
as he and his cronies loot the country

a gadfly Senator ex Brooklyn Jew from small town Vermont
formenting radial revolution
yet failing to excite anyone but the young
and those falling behind

and a professional politician who has been around for decades
calling to restore the old failed status quo
saying that he can restore competence to the government
hoping that the third time is the famous charm

dear God if you exist
is this the best we can do?
nothing but silence
as God does not answer my plea

American Future

We won’t remember 9/11
election fraud will be forgotten
school shootings will belong in the past
no one will talk about gun control
black, white, woman, man, illegal, homeless, rich or poor
old, young, gay, straight, native or cowboy
we will finally know equality
climate change will not be debated
Social Security and Medicare won’t be needed
all religions will bond together
the words Republican and Democrat will have no meaning
there will be no need for lies, no hate, no greed
no one will cry, fake news, fake hair, fake smile
the almighty dollar will lose its luster
no one will feel envy or jealousy
we will remember the value of prayer
no one will care about this poem
after they launch the thermonuclear warheads
