~Life Support~

Welcome New Poet To Poetry Soup,
I offer you a warm smile, in hopes you come back another day.
From the moment I spot your name on the new poet list,
I roll out the welcome mat, in hopes you will stay
I am not afraid of you, I will approach you to say hello
I will Annoy you until you stop by and say "YELL-OW!"
Please have patience, when my ink has no flame
Don't be intimidated by The Poet Destroyer's name,
I'm sweet looking like a lollipop and fun like a kitten
"Warning!" Don't get too close or you'll be smitten,
You can choose to adore or instigate petitions of envy
When it comes to PD
Even then I am a friendly poet, protected by God's loving levee

It's time to introduce myself, call me Linda or PD
Unless, you're in constant warfare for the dominance of poetry
Then by all means, express yourself retard-ly
Verbalize my name, in any which way you like
Call me The Poet Destroyer, when tapping the mic
All though many here know I'm more of a Poet Supporter
A comment crusader, a poetic hoarder
I have no shame in my game,
I give, I love, I treat everyone the same

Unwind, Enjoy all the Xoolness coming to your direction
Inspiration, Contest, Friendly Poets, Poems, and Dedications
I am not a mentor, I'm not a preacher advocating the perfect poem
I am me, original as can be, in time you will seek out my troupe
Reminiscing, over the time I was your first,
Regale with loving respect, don't judge my hunger and poetic thirst
To all new poets I promise, I'll be faithful and follow you like a star
Unless, you forget to put gas while side showing in my crystalline car

Don't worry, New Poetic Poe, I got your back
Taunting you with a copy paste smack
Call it a "--Statement--" call it what you want
I call it, Love From PD, enjoying the community
With a simple hello, and peace out spree
CONGRATULATIONS, to all who made it through the years
Ain't nobody here worth more than you and your poetry
Take this time, and introduce yourself my new friend
Remember New Poet:
If it weren't for you, this place would be 2005 all over again

Premium Member A Quiet Presence

They slip inside in silence
a quiet, gentle whisper
and gather in the presence
of ordinary women.

Surrounding them with reverence
angelic wings enfolding
they listen to petitions
raised up in pure devotion.

As humble prayers are lifted
to God in sweet communion
His messengers will take them
above, like priceless treasures.

The Spirit, ever leading
it pierces all the darkness
the enemy is fleeing
from mighty words, now spoken.

Power, there is great power
in heads bowed down together
that reach beyond this hour
to His everlasting Presence.

My Diary Day 1

I was meeting me girlfriend , sexy Cherry Russ
When I saw her hands go up to her mouth and she did cuss
There was this whooshing sound
And before I looked round
I was hit by the wing-mirror of a bus

With a broken jaw, to get to hospital was a mission
That wasn’t the end of me plight of painful petitions
Instead of wiring up me jaw
Something worse I implore
They mistook me for a patient that needed circumcision

Through wired teeth, I said I‘d sue for loads a cash
As I ate through a straw blended veg and meat and mash
Suddenly I had the urge to sing
As the wires came free, I screamed
Caused by the nurse accidentally knocking on the laughing gas

They going to kill me I thought in agonising pain
So I tried to escape by jumped through the window which is insane
They didn’t tell me I was two stories high
I must tell you humans don’t fly
Now I got a walk identical to John Wayne

Do You Know God

Do You Know God?

Do you know God?
Or do you know about him.

Do you know he perform many miracles?
Or you know first hand he still does, and
His power is real in your life.

Do you know he heal many?
Or have you experience his hand at work
In your own life.

Do you know he feed 5,000
Or you know he cares and
have supply all your needs.

Do you know God because somebody told you about him,
Or do you know him, because you seek him
By praying in petitions and supplications.
You read and study the bible, living and walking in his foot steps,
and believing all his words to be truth.

Do you know that Jesus cried,
Or do you know he cries for you…

Do you know that he loved many,
Or do you know he loves you so
He loves you so….

Do you know that Jesus died?
Or do you know Jesus die for you…

Do you know that he is risen?
Do you have his love, his friendship?
Does he lives in your heart?
Do you have his forgiveness.

Do you know about God?
Or do you personally know him
Do you know him?

Forgive Me

As silence fell upon the night
My heart again did stir.
Petitions made on bended knee
Return to me unheard.

O Gracious Lord, Why do I find
Your absence once again?
The chambers of my grieving heart,
Hold emptiness within.

I cannot bear another night
Your grace, from me withheld.
Pleas rising from my broken heart,
In anguish are compelled.

His softly spoken words I heard.
My sobs, with them entwined.
At last, my Lord does speak to me
With lessons well defined.

"I sent my son to wear your shame
And on the cross he died.
Tho' turned away, I heard his plea,
FORGIVE THEM' was his cry."

"A gift, not earned, I gave to you,
Your sins tossed in abyss.
Now, with a speck that stains anew,
Your pleas are asked amiss."

"A sin you hide, without success,
All things are known to me.
Mercy flows not from your heart
For one that hinders thee."

"My presence is within your grasp,
I wish, with you, to live.
My mercy waits to cleanse your heart.
But first, YOU must forgive."

Premium Member Mother's Hands

She would lift them to the Father
And peace like showers rained.
She would serve a cup of water
And lovingkindness sang refrains.

Her hands would summon Heaven
And our Lord would heed her pleas.
Her heart was free of leaven
As she tarried on her knees.

How many lives and hearts
Were saved by Mother’s hands?
We see fragments, little parts;
The whole God understands.

Though small and weathered be;
Her hands were great and mighty!
Not for what they held you see,
But the petitions raised for thee!

Hands that fed us and corrected
They taught us to “believe!”
Oh the crowns, when resurrected
That her hands there did receive.

God knew and knows her hands.
He held and holds them tight
While He gestures to His lambs,
Come join us in the Light.

This Sunday Morning

This Sunday Morning

The plague has shut our church doors this morning,
Even the lovely lawn is bare of chairs.
If you like, you can turn to the internet, though
It’s not the same as warm handshakes, hugs or building fair,

But lo, here arching trees form a cathedral,
As I think of you in prayer,
The birds are singing in a songbird choir,
And squirrels ushering, gathering here and there.

There are drifting clouds of alabaster white angels,
And scriptures’ fluttering pages,
Soft breezes carry the whispers of worshiping parishioners,
With fervent petitions for those who are missing,

And the Devil weeps! – he has not won.
For all this is God’s unending Love!

As a child of God
The One who brings me
Through the darkest dread
Through the fears that taunt me
Through the tears that haunt me
Through all the worry, pain and doubt
Through the shadows of regret

As a child of God
The God who gives me grace
Answers my prayers of faith
Assures me that there is a way
Even though my mind can’t accept

As a child of God
The One who lights up the night
With moon, stars and dreams
And lights up the day with rays
Of sunshine laughing in hues
Of lemony joy and butter like hope

As a child of God
The God who makes a way
Where no way has been before
The God who brings me a second chance
When I’ve made the worst mistake
The God who lives to be the answer
To all my prayers, petitions or pleas

As a child of God, the living God….
The One who is my answer to every worry
The One who shares His love and spirit with me
The One who I believe in – with all my faith

This is the God I want to praise
With all my heart and soul
With everything within my control
With all my words and deeds
With everything I believe

This is the God who is everything to me!

Premium Member Invocation

When sorrows bring me down
And I haven’t a friend to be found
When dread darkens my thoughts
And nothing I feel is worthwhile
When fear colors my whole world
And hues of black flow all around

There is the opportunity, the chance
To give it all to One who can lift me up
Reassure and encourage, fill me with hope
Light my heart and soul with inspiration

There is One who listens to my plea
He understands my requests
Hears my longings and supplications

There is One who attends to my needs
He hearkens to all my petitions
He appreciates my solicitations

There is One who hears all my prayers
He listens with care to my invocations
Answers my heart’s appeals
With kindness, a tender affection
That reveals the warmth of His giving

There is One who I go to when I’m in need
One who cares, delivers and inspires
One who lights up my thoughts with joy
One who makes a way for my dreams
One who promises and I believe

There is One who knows me
And gives me His greatest gift
The love that I treasure with
Everything I believe or dream
With everything that brings me
The sweetest joy and serenity

Love like this could never be fake
It is love like this that makes a way
Where there is no way
It is love like this that shows me the way
Toward the faith that is strong, and I pray
For His mercy and grace, felt by the heart
Who knows that He is alive on the inside
And will forever bring the answers
To those pleas for compassion

June 6 2025 Transgender Military Ban

"You may now not serve this country
Though you may be fit and kind
I tell you this quite bluntly
I will suppress your kind

Petitions and the public
Shall never hassle my laws;
Amist a starving republic
They believe me
When I tell them you are the flaws

For I've convince them all the bathrooms
Are threatening where you lurk
I've convinced them all your schools
Are full of your witching work

So drink up; sweet deceit tastes good
I shall convince them you are a crime
My plan has made it thus far
And continues
One sip at a time."

Premium Member Patrick Henry, the Call To Arms

To shield ourselves from the painful truth;
Illusions of hope we often see.
But, this is not for wise men's eyes,
Engaged in a struggle for liberty.
And as for me, I wish to know,
Though anguish the spirit may feel,
The worst and then provide for it.
I'll not pretend. The tyrants real.

I have but only one bright lamp
That my feet are guided by;
That is the lamp of experience.
The past can tell where futures lie.
Let us not be deceived any longer.
Our petitions have caused no change,
Supplications have been disregarded.
Our thoughts now must be rearranged.

And many in vain have the fond hope,
That peace will enfold us once more
Open your eyes fellow patriots!
And see what is truly in store.
If we wish to preserve the freedoms,
That have come from heaven's great light;
I appeal to arms, and the God of host.
For all that is left is to fight.

They tell us, Sir, we are too weak,
To cope with the strength of our foe.
But, when shall we ever be stronger.
The answer I truly don't know.
Will it be in a week or the next year?
As we slide down illusions great slope.
Shall we reach for the means of resistance,
While hugging the phantom of hope.

If we make proper use of the means
That nature has placed in our hand.
And the people are armed with the vision,
Of Liberty here in this land.
Then, the God that presides over nations,
Will raise up the friends that we need.
The battle's not just for the strong,
But for vigilant, brave men indeed.

It's in vain, Sir, to lessen the matter.
Cries for peace, have given us none.
Our brethren stand fast in the field, now.
The battle's already begun.
What is it that gentleman wish for.
Is life thought to be so dear?
To be purchased with chains and slavery.
Forbid it, Dear God! Make it clear.

I know not what course others may take,
But, I'll speak mine until my last breath.
Oppression brings no independence.

GIVE ME LIBERTY! OR GIVE ME DEATH!

Premium Member Santa and Mrs Claus

Letters from parents quite unsettling
Elves keep asking what went wrong
Rudolph’s nose starts him meddling
He’ll have answers before too long

Santa and Mrs. Claus have a situation
Marriage needs complete restoration
Both want help but not medication

North Pole lawyers mediate and divide
Santa misses meeting, not taking calls
Judge looked at first motion and decides
She gets Christmas tree, he gets balls

Santa and Mrs. Claus have a situation
Both failed early mediation
Father Time appointed consultation

Santa cannot “Ho ho”, has lost his voice
Causing toy shop workers to overreact
Emergency intervention knocks elves off course
Petitions demand help for children are on track

Father Time tells Santa to get it together
Informs Mrs. Claus Santa is certainly stressed
Federal regulations, global warming and weather
Obamacare and taxes has their finances in a mess

Santa and Mrs. Claus have a situation
Both happier with intimate communication
Santa and Mrs. Claus are in negotiations

Premium Member A Small Silk Sachet

The Eiffel tower stands gaunt,
like a tall iron finger
whose shadow petitions God
for the right to scratch heaven.

My girl loves me to woo her
with polished charm and finesse,
and yet, tonight, it's my turn
to cash in on payments due.

A diamond cuts the glass
as I break into her rooms,
and her perfumed decadence
near makes me gag from the fumes.

Rifling her jewelry box
I find a small silk sachet,
whiffs of potpourri wafting
into the air at my touch.

I decide to pocket it,
and a smile crosses my lips,
a small, scented memento,
to remind me of this night.

Wake Your Weapons

Wake your weapons
When the weary wind fills the way;
Poor pilgrim
Pray and report all your petitions
To the pure and powerful God.

While the sky waters the wide world
And while death’s dew dwells on kings
Bear each other’s burdens,
Bring all the hardships
And let them not break your broken hearts again.
Let not the past ruin your future,
And
Let bygones be bygones.

Daniel's Answer To the King, Briton Riviere

Gov'ners were jealous and zealous the satraps -
One had received uncalled-for promotion.
With design to malign, these guys enacted
a divine trap for this fella's devotions.

"Accept this new law," they said, "Except to you,
O Great King, no petitions can be uttered."
A crusade to degrade, they watched Dan's window,
As he stepped up and prayed, boldly un-shuttered.

Their wily ruse worked and while he was kneeling,
they trotted off to the king and tattled.
Daniel was content to be pent up with lions,
but King Darius spent the night rattled.

Unarmed and unharmed, Dan stayed with the beasts.
In the morning, the king raced to the hole.
The lions in a daze; sudden praise he spoke,
"I'm amazed, God has delivered you whole."

Hear futile complaints among brutal beasts;
Officials are punished with fear and trembling.
They take a fair turn in the lair as ordered
God takes care of revenge for dissembling.

(dissembling means misleading)

based on the account in Daniel 6:1-24
to accompany the painting by Briton Riviere, Daniel's Answer to the King,
it seems Daniel continues to pray to his God inside the lion's den
