Mother's Hands
She would lift them to the Father
And peace like showers rained.
She would serve a cup of water
And lovingkindness sang refrains.
Her hands would summon Heaven
And our Lord would heed her pleas.
Her heart was free of leaven
As she tarried on her knees.
How many lives and hearts
Were saved by Mother’s hands?
We see fragments, little parts;
The whole God understands.
Though small and weathered be;
Her hands were great and mighty!
Not for what they held you see,
But the petitions raised for thee!
Hands that fed us and corrected
They taught us to “believe!”
Oh the crowns, when resurrected
That her hands there did receive.
God knew and knows her hands.
He held and holds them tight
While He gestures to His lambs,
Come join us in the Light.
