Best Perk Poems
My Perk
When the daylight comes I know,
after hours of rest,
I will have another go
doing what is best.
Use my time to finish work.
After this is done,
then I know I get my perk—
writing verse for fun!

Please don't ask for coffee
when only a few will buy.
I'd rather not put on a pot
than leave it to burn dry.
So Sally won't perk coffee now.
It's not the time of day.
And me a patient gentleman
asks for tea this way:
"Sally; put the coffee on"
Sally will say "No"!
And then I'll take a cup of tea
and on my way I'll go.
Sometimes I will get some luck
and Sally serves my wants.
After all; there's too much tea
than this whole world flaunts.
So Sally perk your coffee pot.
I see it's getting busy.
The time has come for you to shine
and free me from this tizzy.

~ Four-Line Limerick ~
A soda jerk I knew at work
offered customers an unconventional perk
When he pulled the handle on the Coke
~ Their seats would swivel, their rear ends twerk

Taking the world by storm
Is not what one would expect
From the birthing of a poem
Perhaps it is enough
To know that inspiration struck
And for a moment
You were one with

Cold alignment of feelings
Running warm water to cure
Wonderful perk of flowers

coffee's perking
mind is working
always in the past
pour a cup
to wake me up
wondering if it can last
another hour
java empowers
has the die been cast
drive to work
heart in a cirque
the feeling, vast

Oh by golly, whatta show I just witnessed
Milady just showed me her arena of interest
Since I was wee
Made me go whee
Have no control and perk up in an instant

Children who can barely keep their eyes open after lunch
Whose feet shuffle and drag, as they cluster into a bunch
Yawners who struggle to not lie down and flat out snore
When class is annoying, dull, uninteresting or just a total bore
rally at the end of the day with a hip hip hooray
Running swiftly away from the building with pep, perk and play!

TrUmP A Jerk with a Perk
Trump as a President went to work,
And he had been a jerk with a perk;
Discovered disease,
From some fleas,
That around his body liked to lurk.
Jim Horn
Wonder if anyone actually laughs at
any of my poems.

My husband has a perk with his insurance
They provide two thousand dollars worth of free stuff a year
We think vitamins are included, they are not
We think Kleenex are included.
We are also wrong.
My husband discovers they have their own store.
Everything in this store is fair game to be free.
I sit at a computer for a couple of hours spending it all.
Fifty-six boxes of goods arrives in the next week.
Where to store it?
I will have to figure it out.
This is our last year for this perk.
This insurance company is dropping Kansas residents next year.

Caroline is an old clerk, Now she is out of work, She has no special perk, She wants to find the jark, So she goes to the park, It is very dense dark, She walks on the tree's bark, She hears the sound of snark, Finally she finds the secret mark, She also sees a lovely lark, It tries to shirk, Suddenly ,it catches by a spark, And it has become a chark , Alas! I am not a nark.

I used to have a medical co-pay when I had a job
sometimes it was thirty-five dollars, other times it was seventy
Now I have a Medicare card and supplemental insurance
Guess what?
My MasterCard can sleep
there is no co-pay
no money from me required at all
really?
Wow!
Good enough
a perk of being retired
