As afternoon fades
and the shadows grow longer
daylight turns to dusk
As daytime slowly comes to end,
and twilight spreads across the sky;
the stars in heavens thus ascend.
As daytime slowly comes to end,
the birds in trees the night to spend,
for in the darkness do not fly;
as daytime slowly comes to end,
and twilight spreads across the sky.
After the sun sets
and darkness blankets the land
lovers start to play
Please kiss me when the sun has set,
and darkness overtakes the land,
and daily chores have all been met.
Please kiss me when the sun has set;
make this a night to ne’er forget;
all night fulfill our love’s demand.
Please kiss me when the sun has set,
and darkness overtakes the land.
As darkness arrives
lovers cling to each other
love the night away

“Close to the western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude.”
— Ernest Hemingway, The Snows of Kilimanjaro
Close, but close to what, he asks himself
to God, or to the end of things?
the question looms, an icy wind that stings
western sun belies the deathly chill within his bones
summit slain, an unread book upon the shelf
there is this urge that drives a man,
is hard to grasp and harder to expound -
the constant forward press that leaves each
dried, unquenched, though verdant green surrounds,
and yet, to feel within one’s core, the source just out of reach
frozen by fear of somehow missing out, his
carcass now grows cold, a mind adrift, in search
of times of youth and days of old -
a man possessed will rid these thoughts no sooner than a
leopard sheds his spots
No real concern is given to the
one who comes behind, who likewise seeks -
has he a thought of how his end will be
explained? to whom? they either understand or know not
what lies just ahead beyond this snowy peak
the sadness of the unattended field such sown - the
leopard lives and dies alone, but for the joys of spring
was this Creator’s plan for us? i don’t think so -
seeking, He’s found in places pressed and low,
at heights, without, does but exhaustion bring
that one might scale the highs, seek out, explore -
altitude, we find, a perfect metaphor

NOTE::THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' (intuitive cadence)& so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

As the gold leaves on the ginkgo fall,
Upon the cold autumn earth.
I think how the winter winds
Sound, as they whip as if in mirth.
Winter is upon us, cold lies ahead.
Can we bear the storms of aging?
I can't help but those dread.
Sometimes I feel like raging.
Dear Lord Jesus, give me strength,
To face and handle each day given.
Help me be the kind of person,
That will be delighted in heaven.
Not just for the reward of gold streets
Nor of the river that flows
And, oh! that tree of life
Food for the body and soul
For the reward of meeting Jesus
And see those Christians gone before.
The awesome sound of the heavenly choir
As they sing original lines, set to a new score.
Oh!! To have love in my heart
A kind of love I have never known before.
To feel a part of a group of people,
Whose love does not keep score.

In winter’s grasp, an aging woman stands
Emerald eyes like jewels gleam
Slightly touched by the passing of time
But a lifetime etched 'pon her wrinkled hands.
Her pressured youth has long passed
Yet grace and compassion are retained
Wisdom gained through joys and tears
Reflected in those eyes pine-green untamed
Shamrock eyes, deep stories they hold
Many sheltered secrets remain
Tales of love and loss will forever bind
Her heart to truth that is tamed
Behind those eyes, a universe unfolds
A journey filled with triumph, joy and fears
Like ancient trees, their roots forever hold
Essence of her dreams throughout the years

Smells like mum

the days get shorter
as summer gives way to fall
change is in the air
As leaves descend from limbs above
of crimson red and amber gold,
they blanket ground with nature’s love.
As leaves descend from limbs above,
through crisp air wings a mourning dove,
and makes her way through fall’s unfold
as leaves descend from limbs above
of crimson red and amber gold.
as sun descends and
daylight gives way to darkness
an impending chill
With shadows long and daylight sighs,
the autumn night is thus foretold
as harvest moon is on the rise.
With shadows long and daylight sighs
a time to gaze into her eyes,
and seek the warmth within her hold.
With shadows long and daylight sighs,
the autumn night is thus foretold.
as darkness surrounds
lovers cling to each other
seeking warmth forever

If I was your smartphone
You would talk to me for hours
If I was your smartphone
You would hold me and make sure I was safe
If I was your smartphone
You would keep me close and check on me often
If I was your smartphone
You would trust me and ask me for help
If I was your smartphone
You would rely on and be grateful for me
If I was your smartphone
You would be excited when I sought your attention
If I was your smartphone
You would make sure my battery was charged
If I was your smartphone
You would play games with me and think I was fun
If I was your smartphone
You would whisper into my ear and share your secrets
If I was your smartphone
Imagine all the wonderful times we would share
If only
I was your smartphone

through the veil of existence,
paints the cosmos with hues unseen
illuminating constellations
auroras bow,

twilight casting shadows upon the land

Enchantress watch,
the universe bends to your will.

Up
in the sky
i saw a clock one
time lost in time when
had i any time to spare my
time would be timeless forever
i used to spend my time like pocket
change time after time there was no time for
time had i made time when time was free i might
be freed of time's tyranny
the words of the prophets
are written on the subway
walls... i will use my time
looking up building up
wising up growing up
listening up tidying up
speaking up owning up
signing up teaming up
lifting up dreaming up
wrapping up till my time
on earth is like the sky:

Step into my silence, hear my tune
drop your music into my soul
carry parts of me not my whole
absorbed Self would fail to your core attune.
To your magic spell I’m not immune
as with your songs I long to stroll
Step into my silence, hear my tune
drop your music into my soul.
magic beyond a romantic croon
a drift over which no control
moments of bliss in words we stole
entranced I dissolve in a swoon
Step into my silence, hear my tune
drop your music into my soul.
