Rhyming Doubles On My Muse's Stern Command

He who Lives, to green woods explore
and bathe in glowing moonlit streams
shall find his Love, begging for more
than pale ghosts in late midnight dreams!

She who his hot passion bestirs
in its fires, warms her eager heart
asks not for gold, diamonds or furs
instead, he a sweeter path chart!

He that her hand truly adores
in her light and grace, truly shine
oft wades along paradise shores
where sincere poets oft opine!

She that in his stead, falls to pray
accepts life's wrath and its dread
as for his sins she must then pay
sorrows born, when to death he fled!

He who lives, to green woods explore
and bathe in glowing moonlit streams
shall find his love, begging for more
than pale ghosts in late midnight dreams!

Rhyming doubles, on my muse's stern command

I Then In Silver Silence Fell

My muse cried in my night dream,
to you, I gift a lyric sweet
so your honor you may redeem
and thus your hide, I will not beat!

I wept, you are oft my sad woe
in humble pride, I write my tales
caring not which way each spell flows
thus with freedom, my true ship sails.

My muse, to this cry was bemused
but with anger great, she then rose
tis' I that you truly abused
after I your worthless hide chose!

I then in silver silence fell
and in my morrows, saw so true
I had her under my dark spell
and thus my freedom could renew!

My muse cried in my night dream,
to you, I gift a lyric sweet
so your honor you may redeem
and thus your hide, I will not beat!

Rhyming doubles, on my muse's stern command..

Note:
Sometimes you just gotta cut loose and let the
captive rhymes dance and outward flow....
as in verses from a past youth's meandering
and lighthearted compositions....
As in the in the dark abyss of *Dark verse* one can not be embrace its blackness for too long.

    "Pinball Wizard"

strange sounds hypnotize from an ARCADE
challenging me to a dual escapade
silver balls wait in line
for fingers to opine
female transforms to pinball wizard on parade.

STAR TREK is my machine of choice
listening to CAPTAIN KIRK'S commanding voice
ENTERPRISE flies at warp speed
as numbers calculate point feed
as a TREKKIE I win a la Royce.*

MORTAL COMBAT is a game of great skill
super bonus points mount as empty holes fill
deadly fatalities
video catastrophies
in the end my name is on top of the hill.

STREET FIGHTER is quick, sharp and rough
knocking down opponents is so tough
when the flipper sinks the ball in
the bad dude shouts "a vul kin"*
aggravated, I cry out "had enough".

time to hang up my "wizard fingers" for another day
flashing lights show my name on display
leaving fantasy behind
know I'm "one of a kind"
pinball prima donna loves to play.

Premium Member Barbed Wire

Barbed wire seems a 'thorny' subject on which to opine,
But there arose a need for such for people and beasts to confine!
Cowpokes cussed as they worked with it mutilating their hands.
Sheepherders fussed with cattlemen as it spread across their lands!

'Tis said back in 1874 Joseph Glidden, who 'bristled' with the idea,
Was awarded a patent for barbed wire to provide a cure-all panacea!
Split-rail fencing to outline boundaries was rapidly becoming passe',
To keep neighbors' straying goats, horses and other critters at bay!

Sheriffs found barbed wire handy to enforce a judge's firm dictates,
To confine hoss thieves, cattle rustlers and other such reprobates!
Inmates trying to scamper through the wire were apt to rip their pants,
Or worse, might end up in 'boot hill', caught trying to scale the fence!

Alas, sinister uses for barbed wire were found beyond bucolic meadowlands.
'Twas used to enslave thousands of innocent souls behind its menacing strands.
Thousands of men, women and children were consigned to death at Dachau,
Triblinka, Buchenwald, Ravensbruck and Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Among its many other diverse uses it has even marched off to wars,
To protect gallant American soldiers on far too many alien shores.
Mister Joseph Glidden was doing mankind a great favor, he thought.
Were he alive today he might say, "My gawd, what hath I wrought!"

Last Rite Exit

Nearing the end of their fleeting days,
short-inhaled lives infirmly await the long dark
Garrulously tilting fermented liquids in a park,
they watch their former youthful ways

Addled memories of a once robust stride
keep the brown paper covered truth hidden well
Selfish pleasures have left their flesh bodies frail,
weary envious exhalation of tearful pride

Uncomfortable thoughts tinge their mind,
feeble resistance offered in boisterous recollections
Never given to ingest any sobering contemplations,
aged souls possessing only wrinkled opine

Cantankerous wrong heights stooped on a bench,
bemoaning last rites of spirits dead long ago since

Premium Member North Carolina

North Carolina—a beautiful place of humble abode,
On summer vacations or all the year round.
Rife with history, the Wright Brothers showed,
Thanks to Kitty Hawk's sand dunes at heights quite profound,
Hosting Earth's first manned flight on wings at our coast.

Carolina Tarheels—the battle cries loud,
Across our green state, Biltmore east, towards Kill Devil Hills.
Rolling gently across cotton and tobacco fields plowed,
Over civil war lands defended with vigor and skill.
Lakes and streams they're a plenty, abundant wildlife to boast,
Identified as "Southern" south of Mason-Dixon’s own line.
North Carolina place of wonder, from mountains to coast,
Appalachian Trail hikers by the thousands lovingly opine.

So the next time you feel, the need to discover,
Visit North Carolina's splendor, with a friend, sister, or brother!

Superiority

Ignoble though our dawn of days,
yet intoned is worthy praise
of legion minds whose reasoned grasp
has ever roared at starry heaven’s
distant vault—Omniscience’
mighty pillars to confound.

Yet I hesitate and wonder,
if we alone proud mantle don
to reason and opine,
or whether listens now
on curved space’
strange and distant shore
an ancient, brooding mind
who jots it all on pages
of a tiny book it is
writing about us.

How To Live In Silence

"How to Live in Silence"

We speak
in music
codes of love
how to live in silence

poets become sacrosanct

when they opine,
where does music enter
the equation?

poets become sacrosanct

We speak
in music
codes of love
how to live in silence

here are the keys,
love

how to live in silence
we speak
in music

when hearts are deep
cut wide open
but life ain't rhymin'

Premium Member Goodbye Fault

Inspired by a Cyrus William Mistake
Some sticks and stones have more bones
than any philosophy you have ever shown.
When you assume your arrogant position
respect disappears from my spousal vision.
I find myself constantly wishing
we were not on a marriage mission.

Nothing wrong is ever caused by you.
You view fault as blame needing pointed to.
Mistakes are what others cause or do,
that your perfect self suffers through.
You need not learn, change or absorb
and that is why I color you absurd.

So, for you, I finally draw this line –
one side is yours, the other, mine.
Freely take all the fault you can find
and lay it on me in your best whine.
I know you will not reflect or opine.
As for me, I’m leaving my fault behind.

On the mundane meatloaf I must opine

'Tis an all time favorite grub o' mine

Aesthetic Fireworks In a Soiree

Sparks of golden quarks
Amazing particles of heart
Pyrotechnic shower
Too fine
Almost from cloud nine
Rise from the articulation-flood
In the fulfilled flow of fascinated blood
As effusive praise in Aha and Wows
The moment a poet finished an Urdu shayari in a mood of sunset
Like in the couplet:
“If someone were to listen, one thing I will opine
Love is not a crime forsooth it is grace divine”
in a poetry soiree
in a gleaming evening

I can see in the frame of my mind’s eye
Those soul-sparkles in a diamond glow
With jaws distended in a gape
In a variety of shape
Beautifully blowing up
By the chorus of wows, and wah wah
In the wake of delivery of the rhythmic couplets and quatrains
Fine grains of pain
Pomegranates in pleasure
In poetry or shayari
Also called “Sher”
And then the sparklers from the listeners taking illuminated seats
On the trees in the garden
Looking resplendent with those fireworks of satisfaction
Grand vocal pyrotechnics of the artistic colors inside our soul
Our whole world now at the goals of releasing
The ingrained heat and light
Into softly loud appreciation and approval from the aroused assembly
Of pink interest
An aesthetic quest
in the bird-like flying of the eloquent firework
The sophisticated atomizer of stirring pyro-spark
A soul-stirring recital followed by the sparks of applause
From the embers of the latter arise another shayari
On goes the reciprocation
Of passionate oral fireworks of elation
Quarks in the pulse
Shower of polished spark
In sublimation of our basic dark

Spring Rings Out

The warmth of spring will soon ring out
of life brought forth anew.
Each barren tree and hill now dark
as pewter, green and true.

From warmer climes the migrant birds
fly north and seek to nest.
They mate co-joined in nature's maze
and parent to their best.

The myriad of earthly life
produce offspring in time.
Those witnessing this grand display
see life rich and sublime.

Warm rains enrich the soil and fill
each river, lake, and pond.
The waters fuse with elements
as brave, new life is spawned.

Spring winds from gust to zephyr flow
across this sphere's broad face.
The earth and sky sing out of growth
and shine with verdant grace.

As souls we often opine of
the seasons which is best.
When our sun climbs high in its arc
all life on earth is blessed.

                     Spring Rings Out
                     Common Verse

Basis of Belief

Spare me ill-considered thoughts
and tales of the enlightened sage
whose very basis of belief
arose in palpable assemblage
one late summer evening
while listening to his ringing ears,
as he lay soaking naked in a tub.

And holy writ of nether world—
its commands and promises
now in language thrice removed—
misunderstood when first uttered
in scarce remembered ancient tongue,
yet presumptive literal masters
hasten to opine.

Absurdities compound,
interstices of mind—
vacuformed and stolid—
deny calm reason’s abstract,
and flee truth’s sanctum,
dogma in their fond embrace,
awash in its decrepitude.

Humanity thus
in thrall of Mesmer’s haunt
sustains a tortured cadence
of greed, dishonesty and graft,
which now in tawdry bloat ascends,
as if arms of gods on the empyrean sphere
would open wide to greet.

Consider well and ponder such severely,
who would transcend the veil,
for wisdom gained and love prolonged
will surely ease the transit.
And those who favored having over being?
Their cherished worth is fled.
Their hubris now dismissed.

Fairest Summer Weather, O' What A Boon

After the dawn of the summer light
emerges rise of a sweet summer day
Early birds take food hunting flight
enjoying this weather in a cool May

Sunny rays warm up my tired bones
trekking into the morning delights
Soft breeze, sets pleasant tones
as I look down from lofty heights

Earth and Sun,team by grand design
to supply the wants of this man
Natures wonders awe me, I do opine
while magically enjoying all I can

Fairest summer weather, O' what a boon!
Grab all you can, it ends far too soon!
