Operetta
Opaline arias glow in moonlight
Shimmers in the whip-poor-will’s reminisce,
Opalescent anthems silvery delight
On the still waters, moonbeams leave a kiss.
Iridescent serenade sonatas
Echo across sleek undulating swells
Choruses of nightingale cantatas
Rise up in sheer murmurs from argent wells
Midnight luminescent harmony blends
Overtures of plaintive loon duets
Glide over satin ripples to transcend
The song of hero and saucy coquette
In tranquility soft moonlit scenes close
Midnight’s operetta in dawn’s repose.
Creatures of
the night
in song...
welcome me
to sing along;
cricket arias
froggy croaks
plopping waters
hooting owls.
Skeletal trees
spooky limbs
shadows weave as
moonlight beams;
a bulbous moon
o’er horizon
wolves that bay
to its beauty.
Twitterers sleep
‘neath dark sky;
silent paw pads
caressing ground.
Trickling waters
their rhythms cast,
fireflies flickering,
'round a pond.
Squeaky mice
and meowing cats.
All nightlife
sings to sleep
the human heart.

Hey, hey, hey, hear what I'm gonna say
The world is round and I'm definitely gay
Well happy? You betcha!
But in my operetta
My arrow zings straight for that target risque
Moonlight symphony, and stars in the heavens
A magic overture of a lovers haven
A concerto of warmth and complete passion
An operatic sensation of passions fire
The opus of the rose permeates the air
The magical grandioso that takes me there
Come to me my lover of impromptu
And seal our operetta with a kiss
Serenade me with a vivace moan
A concert of love to call my own
A tender adagio, an expressive glance
Only you, my one true love, can entice me to dance
Approachable the heavens,
upon mound of heightened sphere,
bid you closer to the atmosphere.
Starlight in singsong.
Lungs of operetta moon strong.
A white veil cascades over your intricate ark.
You sail the calm seas of blue
with heaven’s spectacular crew.
The open jars of lightning bugs.
Sunflowers on bended knees.
Your eyelids in crescentic freeze.
Dreamy colors inflame your mind,
as the days playfulness you rewind.
Sweet infusion of colors collaborate ~
watermelon, honeydew, and lemon.
The flicker of twilight slowly fades.
Daylight wanes behind your shades.

Vermillion Scythe’s Lullaby In The Sunset Contest
Arthur Seymour Sullivan
a favoured operetta manfa
He partnered WS lyric
so popularity was quite quick
Love in sweet abandon as her voice resounds,
calls to me in echoed waves of whispered sounds,
soothing, lilting, rippling shards of harmonies,
a sensual operetta on the winter breeze.
Lost in stark amnesia in a darkened mood,
'neath simmerings of thunderclouds that seethe and brood,
locked in isolation, set against the light,
I miss her sweet libation in the thrall of night.
Lord, I suffer angels mirrored in her face,
her body sways in splendour with specific grace,
slow motion tarantella danced until the dawn,
leaves footprints in memorial snow upon the lawn.
Love in sweet abandon, how her lips beguile,
part slowly in the fractions of a drop dead smile,
such beauty pulls a killing stroke inside of me,
a king of fools supposing it is not to be.

When you take a walk alone in nature…listen to your footsteps
because from the moment that you start…
You’ll hear how the sound your footsteps make…match the beating of your heart.
Check your heart rate as you’re walking…it’s amazing don’t you think
how the sound your footsteps make and your heartbeat are in sync.
And the more you walk alone nature….
through forests, over mountains, valleys and firths.…
you realize your footsteps and your heartbeat
connect directly with the heartbeat of the Earth.
Whether you’re walking under the moon and stars or accompanied by the sun…
you quickly come to appreciate…how your two hearts beat as one.
As you listen to the symphony of nature…as you hear Earth’s music hum…
you realize to her daily operetta
your connected hearts provide the rhythm of the drum….
The Ojibwe word for drum is Dewe’igan (day way eh gun)
which, when you pull that word apart…
means the instrument that creates the sound of a beating heart.
The Ojibwe believe all of nature is animate…alive…
they include their sacred and cherished Dewe’igan too…
On a walk in nature
as you listen to your heart connect with the heartbeat of the Earth…
you begin to understand how this Ojibwe belief…is true.
