Best Norway Poems
Like leaves on ivy vines and the taste of fine wine
In our hearts fill with tales of fairies, love, and sunshine
Leaving her beautiful inspiring presence behind
A goldmine of fine array of poems, friendships of sunshine

A tribute to a very lovely lady Anne-Lise Andresen
Norway Rains
I love the rain
Under my umbrella
Staring at rainbows
Wishing for dreams
My stomach is hungry, so it seems
I may be just a wee little kid
In the country rain
Still I know dreams do come true
As Anne-Lise brings my favorite ice cream
Smiles all, through and through
Laughter echoes in the Norway rains
Dedicated to Anne-Lise from Norway!!!!!!!!
Listen ~ I'm sure a competent musician could
not have come up with something better
Still we have much to learn from natures melody
We can not escape from the music
You need to change, we all need
Take a deep conversation with the nature
I don't think anyone really enjoys confrontation
Nevertheless, I see this as very important
Nature can not scream in pain, we must see the signals
The voice of nature ~ the music ... a ballad
So ~ for better or worse be a nature role model
Where goodness is sown ~ goodness will be harvested

The beautiful Poetess Anne lise , from Norway ~
Anne Lise being sweet and responding from the start
A most important part of the soup here in many hearts
I want to say Thank-you for reading and inspiring me to write
I want to say you have a beautiful Soul God gifted a special way

In the arctic frozen sky of the enchanting land the midnight sun
leans on the horizon briefly in bright summer and again it rises,
I didn’t know when a new day actually would have or had begun.
The frosty sky in winter night burns in flashes of aurora borealis.
The North Sea stretches the long arms through the blue fjords,
the visible heritage of the glacial deep scoop of the Pleistocene,
dissects the corrugated coastline as if sliced by the Viking sword.
I was held captive there for a long time by the magnificent scene.
To unravel the petrified mysteries of the Nordic Caledonian rocks
I crossed many dales and ridges of the geologic arc west of Bergen,
walked for days across the uninhabited islands where eagles flock.
In the cold crystal rains the shelter of the ancient caves I had taken.
On my travel I stayed a number of days in Lyderhorn, a small village
overlooking the tranquil turquoise waters of the narrow Loddefjord.
A gracious lady of the pretty house, Julia Aasen in her advanced age
gave me a furnished room at a rent that at the time I could afford.
She used to invite me for dinner at her place almost every evening,
offered me plate full of peppered boiled potato and hot fiskeboller,
slices of brown bread she baked with thick Jerlsberg cheese topping,
showed fondly the faded pictures of her late husband, a fish seller.
Time came to leave and say heart-felt ‘tusen tak’ on a freezing day.
She presented me a pair of woolen gloves she had specially knitted.
Years later when I wear these her frail touch they remotely convey,
I feel the warm heart of Julia of Norway although she has departed.

The highlight in December is Christmas we are all waiting for
Surrounded by tall beautiful mountains with white snow tops
My own homeland in December between hills and the sea
You will experience both silence, holidays and white plains
Frosty the Snowman loves Norway dressed in his winter jacket
December darkness must give way to happy light in all trees
While elves dancing in joy, Santa Claus enjoying a cup of chocolate
December is a busy and active time with lots of trimming for Santa
You must remember ... he is an old man
Jingle Bells in the forest winter landscape, a carriage sliding in the snow
Sleigh bells ... listen ... you can hear them
Beautiful reindeer with the famous; Rudolf as leader
Santa has not forgotten the Christmas gifts - toys to all children
Into a mysterious and beautiful veil of winter fairies countries
The snow hanging heavy on the trees
and the sun gets the white landscape to shine like gold
A sled journey with lighted torches are both nostalgic and romantic

Ode to the people of Norway
Strophe
O, the darkness has descended on a paradise
Of Norway’s bounties of nature
On the people living a quiet life
Not concerned about the politics ever
A drug addict, calling himself a warrior
Taking pride of being a savior of Europe
Unmindful of the death toll of the young
Rejoicing in the tears falling from their eyes
A Hitler has raised his ugly head up
Polluting the minds of the old and the young.
Antistrophe
But trying to take a refuge to insanity
Taking drugs to make himself efficient and awake
Priding over to start war for years sixty
Pleading not guilty to terrorism namesake
Though confessing to bombing and rampage
But remaining unaffected by what happened
Thus his plea assures him of future court hearings
By the attacks Norway is riveted with rage
By Breivik’s paranoid writings stunned
Hundreds thronged the courthouse proceedings.
Epode
With tears in their eyes people paid homage
To the victims laying roses a few feet deep
While the killer faces 21 years in prison
The stiffest sentence can be given by a Norwegian judge
His lawyer says the whole case suggests his client is insane
The Royal couple consoled people and tears shed
The prime minister called it a national tragedy
And summed it up “evil can never defeat a nation”
The killer may enjoy Halden, the luxurious jail in the world
Where cells have flat TV and designer furniture facility.

Diving and snorkeling in Saltstraumen
is probably one of the most stunning
and the most spectacular you can experience
A passion in blue lines
and the mysterious properties of salt water
The underwater hunter's paradise
Catch your own fish and enjoy it for dinner
Homemade fish soup tastes lovely
But you can't sip soup without salt
it will be as a prayer without reverence

Walk with me through a world of beauty
A gift from God
Walk with me where the Vikings once roamed
Through the magnificence of her mountains
Into the fjords near Bodo
Feel the briskness in the air of Andoya
Trondheim has a beauty all its own
Checkpoint Charlie is still the place to be
On a Saturday night in Stavanger
You can even pass through Hell
Going to the fly station in Vaernes
Lofoten Islands echo the sheer beauty of the land
Feel the welcome warmth of the people of Oslo
At one with nature, ride the Flam Railway
A country of lakes, mountains and Stave churches
A beauty surpassed only by that of her people
Memories carry me back to this land of enchantment
Troll can only make me smile because
I've had a glimpse of heaven.
Her name is Anne Lise Andersen from Norway
She was here to welcome me on my very first day
Memory's not the best
But to this I can attest
Monster hugs from Canada are on the way

There are many fjords where the Viking ships came forth.
Those mighty warriors dominated the lands up north.
The fallen in battle would go to meet Odin in Valhalla.
For quite a long time, the Vikings ruled Scandinavia.
Four centuries before Columbus, they arrived in America.
There is a descendent from the Vikings named Harald today.
The great land he rules is known as Norway.
