Premium Member Little Song Bird

Little song bird in my tree
singing your sweet song for me
singing sweetly, singing clear
your song, it fills me with good cheer.

Little song bird sing your song
with all my heart I'll sing along.
A gift from God you grace the earth
there is no measure to your worth.

Little song bird, wild and free
when you leave, will you take me?
Together we could soar so high
across the endless, azure sky.

Little song bird, singing high above
your song, it fills my heart with love.
little song bird in my tree
with your song you set me free.

Shaped By the River

Silvery ripples and swirls of viridian currents
Moving through ancient gorges,
Molding and shaping solid shades of gray granite…
Soft and round,
Craggy and sharp,
Here and There…

Solid rock thrusting up
Shaped by shifting currents of the river
		Rising and falling,
		Rushing and fading,
		Over time.

Who knows where
The current will go next
Or what shape the rocks will take,
Over time.

Nevertheless
	The river and rocks remain,
	One, solid and steady,
	The other, fluid and ever-moving.

Sitting here
My heart longs to shed its burdens
To let them slide like a rock into the gently swirling water
And be carried away by the swiftly flowing current beneath the surface.

I want to know …
Can I remain solid and steady, yet fluid,
As the currents of change swirl
                Around me?

I want to know …
Can I be molded and reshaped
As the river of life courses
                Through me?

I want to know …
Can I be moved in new directions by love,
Harmonious and true to the voice of my heart
Echoing in the ancient gorge of my own soul?

The only answer that comes
Is the flow of my tears and
The sound of the river as it continues
To ripple and run around the rocks.

Maybe
             That
             Is enough,
             For now.

Premium Member Elf Girl Dressed In Yellow

Dressed in yellow
My golden haired elf girl
As she swings around nature
My heart in a whirl

Roses like ivy
Caress the swing ropes
As the butterflies flutter
Just like my heart hopes

Her blue eyes stare
As she swings to and fro
I desire to reach out
My hoping heart in flow

Just as we touch
The sun shines through the trees
To feel her soft skin
My heart in delightful appease

Suddenly i am startled
As i awake from my sleep
My dream of my elf girl
To my memory i shall keep

Rain Storm

The wind howled
The mountain glowed
The sky roared
The heart thundered
The pelting rain
Washed the pain
The heart again
Joy regained

Angel looks at angelic reflection
Much to her surprise heavenly being
Exact copy of Angel with pinion
Timely moment spiritually freeing

Beauty opens door for supernatural
Soft glow of light as the spirit reveals
This cherub's role in life is natural
Angel has to be a jewel who feels

Her wings will lift her up to ideal
Just as Water Lilies have own beauty
Her allure reflects love that will appeal
Unlike Hydrangea her pure heart of duty

Her purest heart will give her wings in time
Angel will transport to realms so divine

Premium Member Perspective

Today I stopped along a roadside path,
Drawn to swaths of gold and blue.
A calliope of yellow mustard, with hues
Of purple vinca, and wild sweetpeas too.

Harsh winter rains lay this hillside bare
But nature’s will the landscape overcame.
No artist’s brush could best this scene
This painting with a grass-green frame.

My burdened heart beat with hope anew,
I felt the dark and troubled day recede.
Perspective gripped my tired soul,
And gave peace to a heart in need.

Aye, Spanish Needles

Aye, Spanish Needles, far from native shore
We the Diaspora exult to meet
Though our station, not what we dreamt of yore
Is battered by grimy dust and slimed sleet
Aye, Spanish Needles, still unbowed you stand
A dazzling prince in a far foreign land.

Dreaming gold reposed on ivory stars
Where evening's chill draws near the weary night
Shining still despite dusty mannered cars
Aloof in their suburban hedge from blight
I see you huddled in mass fore my eyes
Aching through El Dorado's balmy sighs

Extreme doubt supposed in old poet's tale
Of woodland springs and love's certain patience
Your hardy forms admit a desert gale
Thrashing grim your tropic resilience,
Beside beaten edges, and brackish yards
Still hold time's beauty against fate's crude cards.

Aye, Spanish Needles, resident aliens
From another shore, what long age brought you
From the ocean's salt milk, and fresh grievance
To stake your claim to Conquistadors' clue
This Florida had breast to fountain new youth?
Will you now tell islands this empty truth?

Juan Ponce De Leon took back nothing too
Except the joy of the great river here
But I have seen gold softened by silk dew
On regal petals protesting time's wear
And I have kept better company than
Ribault, Jackson, or the old Cowford clan.

Aye, Spanish Needles, brother of the earth
With me, dare my heart now its hope to green
Like you from this rustic place telling mirth
In golden gold and whitest white yet seen
Something in your character is changed here
Something common is now a beauty rare.

It is the mettle of our birth for each pain
To mirth, and wear love's beauty like the stars
Singing redemption songs with tears for rain
And count for medals our battles bright scars
Aye, Spanish Needles, bright golden and white
My heart like a ship rejoice you hold the light.

There prolific in your numbers, a car

Birds of a Feather

Spring Equinox has come at last
As morning dawns from winter’s night
New dreams revealed from seasons past
Soft petals open to the light

As morning dawns from winter’s night
Awareness drawn from dreamers keep
Soft petals open to the light
Evoking visions from the deep

Awareness drawn from dreamer’s keep
A guiding light that shines desire
Evoking visions from the deep
Open to sweet love passion’s fire

A guiding light that shines desire
Beckoning birds of feather home
Open to sweet love passion’s fire
Sing harmony, spring season poem

Beckoning birds of feather home
Synchrony of fecundate soul
Sing harmony spring season poem
Open heart to awaken whole

Synchrony of fecundate soul
A gathering of light transpires
Open heart to awaken whole
To blossom forth our true desires

A gathering of light transpires
New dreams revealed from seasons past
To blossom forth our true desires

Inside the Heart (Poems From 7th Grade #4)

Many scientists know that there are many parts of the heart
From the four valves to the aorta,
It is a beautiful thing
But there are many parts of the heart that not everyone knows about
There is lots of wisdom that fills it
It makes you figure things out easily
Love is another main part
It is the life force of everything
It helps you to find friends
And to love others with respect
Now you know, that the hear isn't just a muscle
It's a machine of love and power.

Premium Member Three Magic Rocks To Another World

I hold three magic rocks, in my hand
Rolling them over and over and over
Leaving this reality behind, far behind
The future opens as i become a space rover

Rolling these rocks, from a long ago race
As a window of light opens in front of me
A portal has opened, i feel a glow on my face
Through the dreamy blue, what will i see

As i turn and say goodbye to this world
My thoughts intrepid as to what awaits out there
Over the blue, i Semaj finally step
One, two three to a black abyss i stare

Within minutes of being here, the darkness fades
A strange orb rises oozing colours of light
Like similar beauties from earths parades
Wonderful scenery, another worldly delight

Through what i would call a clearing, an expanse appears
With wondrous colours and earthly creatures
Giant butterflies, rabbits silhouette against this sphere
While plants so gorgeous display their features

I venture further into this kaleidoscopical rainbow
En-captured by a thrilling of a world of serenity
What delights have my eyes, been allowed to bestow
A place of calmness and no hint of calamity

Beside a brook i sit as i absorb this place
Scented petals grace and drift in a light breeze
As i scan the surface, there appears a face
A golden haired beauty, golly! is my mind in tease

I rise to my feet, and in wonderment stare
To my amazement she smiles, fluttering her butterfly wings
As i approach this beauty by the rippling brook
My heart pounds notes like a longing sing

She looks at me in curious pose
Wondering what to make of me, an alien being
Is she reciprocating what i would be doing
If she stepped through the blue, is she what i would be seeing

As we edge closer, its as if it was meant to be
Nervous i am not, in this land of blissful serenity
We all have a path and maybe its my destiny
Have they tried and tested, and eventually found amenity

I turn around to look back, to where i came from
I can't hear her voice, but i can hear her song
My body, my heart in self possession aplomb
No going back through the blue, for this is where i belong

Sonnet 36

'Tis beauty is, glory after the fall,
A soul that swam in sin now with the sun,
At war with Autumn's act, abused and all,
By love that left unto another one.

Leaves died and fell unto the heart of grass,
Burning thine soul and gifted chlorophyll.
Lovely a leaf that lied with lust at last,
Causing a fever that ones earth would feel.

Glory that God hath lifted seasons change,
To birth the life of breath into a tree.
As love would leave, new leaves would grow with-in,
Of beauty blossoming beyond debri.

A broken heart is like a fallen leaf,
Yet night born from unloved light rise from grief.

Destroyed

Destroyed

By Nathan Hannen

Hello, Hello, Are you there?, Said the animal to the human
Yes, Oh yes, Im here to kill you, Renounce your habitats
Ruiner of nature and all that's good, What do you think you are doing?
What I have been told, My lordship
But what is your vocation?, And what is your motivation to commit such cruelty?
Oh ease your bickering, My chimney's must smoke
I live in this world with you too, And I will choke my heart dead
T'is a shame, Oh little creation, Knowing you are lesser
My brethren will cull you, And extinct your kind with guns
Listen, Oh creature of damnation, The need for guns is void
Oh, Cunning minority with no strength, Why is this?
You will force upon us all, Black and disease, A vile putrid stench
You will be the smoke of your chimney, The poisoner of your offspring
Ah, So it seems you speak of caution and danger unto me
My earth poisoners will swipe their tongues, Acidic your homes
I scarcely believe your idiocy for there is no need for the end
My lord belongs to me, As does yours, Turn your bearings, Malice
I have no lord you creature of sin and spoil, He knows not me
Oh human, Oh human, He will come one day and pillage you
Foolish one with no normal heart and decrepit bones, Ebb away, Recede
My home, Oh my poor children, Playing in the chimney's, They choke
The animals are but dust, And the trees, Oh the trees, They are just rust
Human ruiner, You failed to take heed, Why so is this?
Oh lord, My vision in life, I have served in frivolity
No, This is what your service has amounted to, My lord what rubbish

The End.

Come

Come the shoots, come the spring
Come the rains and summer bring

Come the Skylark, bring the song
Fill the sky and the valley throng

Come on blossom and fill the air
Your colour sweet, fragrance fair

Come Butterfly dance these eyes
Float the warmth of clearing skies

Come sweet Rose and comfort me
Fill this heart with all your beauty

Come the gentle flowing streams
Gently glide and float my dreams

Come nature wrap me in your love
A beating heart under skies above

Come my true love walk with me
Hand in hand and to forever be

This Garden of Flowers

This garden of flowers

Can be yours too

Follow me

What you can see

What can be

This garden of flowers

I found in you

Deep in your heart

Flowers of blue

Pink too

Such beauty inside

Wanting to be free

Your colour

What it means to me

What it cannot hide

This richness I see

Flowers blossoming

What it means to me

My heart feeling

The colours cascading

This garden of flowers

I found in you

So precious too

The colours revealed inside

The heart sighed

This garden of flowers

You cannot hide

What you have inside

Colours to touch

Colours to feel

Colours that make it real

For, the heart

Holds the delicate blooms

The colour booms

What I can see too,

in the garden of you

Premium Member A Teardrop In the Stream

From the side of the bridge
A teardrop fell from her eye
And splashed into the flowing waters
Of the rippling stream passing by

Away the teardrop was swept
With the freshly fallen rain
The rippling stream stole her tear
But left behind the pain

She stood staring at the stream
Originating from the mountain top
With water pure and clean
A rippling flow that never stops

She comes to this bridge
Too many times to her it seems
But her broken heart appears to mend
After dropping tears into the stream

She takes a cleansing breath
Inhaling the fresh air
She wipes her cheek dry
And lets down her golden hair

The tear is now long gone
Fresh water in its place
The rippling magic worked again
She wore a smile upon her face

Lovers may come and go
Causing her heart to often ache
But as long as streams still ripple
Her spirit they’ll never break
