The Spider and the Dew

The Spider and the Dew This morning, my fingers curled around my cup, I went to the window, musing about the coming day.. By the step, glistening with dew, a newly spun web. It shown like jewels strung with abandon. Its fragile beauty left me almost disbelieving.. Can the spider know the beauty before him? Perhaps it's his reward for his magnificent weaving.

It's amazing the beauty you can find in nature if you only take the time to really look. Nice view here. You may want to change its to it's in the last line. I enjoyed this poem. Thank you for sharing it and for your kind words on my haiku. Keep on writing!! Karen

Wow, I love this Barbara. I always gasp at the beauty of dew threaded spiders' webs. Wonderfully described and with a lovely touch of philosophy at the end. Love, Nigel
