Premium Member Your Wild Side Is No Longer Napping

You realize your wild side is no longer napping
Fully aware you are trying to sneak away
Leaving her in a suitcase or closet
With the fancy miniskirt she loves to wear.

You realize your wild side is listening when
She flings your thigh-high-look-at-me-boots
Onto the bed and sneers at you,
And you cannot stop looking at your make up case.

You realize you are out of your depth when you look
In the mirror and you are wearing your "come hither"
smile and your Wild Side is laughing maniacally
As you prance out the door, ready to party

In all the ways you said you would never party again
After the Wild Side did the same thing to you last night
And the three nights before that. She has you, and you
Have never felt more sexy.

Premium Member The Power of Positive Napping

An hour long nap right after lunch?
I find it helps me quite a bunch!
When sleep is missed the night before,
It matters not if work or play,
A nap is balm to stress of day,
And this is not just metaphor!

A nap is like self-given hug,
That brings a smile back to your mug.
No, don’t discount its healing pow’r,
A servant to your ev’ry plan,
That greases all the wheels of man,
A nap, the hero of the hour!

My father first taught me this art,
Much sounder than dessert or fart,
It puts day’s burdens in their place!
God too took rest at end of week,
Rest is Holy! Hear Him speak!
(For from God’s rest poured Saving Grace.)

A bright and shiny new year approaches
What great astounding resolutions will I quotath

Bout losing some fat
And spending more time napping on the sofa

Caught Napping

CAUGHT NAPPING

Cocky
bluffing like the covered duck

Tripping
boasting 50 years sojourn ahead of tomorrow

Stuffing
filching away our future in a "Ghana Must Go"

Sniffing
snuffing life out of the halves not

Smiling
suffering in the midst of plenteous

Praying
screaming to God in a pinnacle for miracle

Thinking
scheming to uncover the protruding umbrella

Dropping
raining fuel scarcity in fuel city

Wailing
knocking hope for an end to Boko Haram

Willing
making our votes count with a loud voice

Drinking
making mockery of the change ingredients

Napping
snoring while the people's eyes remained ajar

Fluffy
Cutting the wings of 16 years umbrella

Aging
caging no more the sage of change

Premium Member Napping Sleeping Falling Off a Chair- -

Shhh! quietly I nodded off nearly sleeping;
Hush!! Dogs barking outside reeling;
While I nodded nearly napping;

Mom looks at me as I’m breathing heavily;

While I nodded nearly sleeping;
While I nodded well-nigh sleeping;
Fell, fallen off the chair yet still sleeping;

Sleeping while I nodded nearly;

While I nodded nearly sleeping;
So I nodded still well-nigh sleeping;
As I am falling to the floor intimately sleeping;

Premium Member A Funny Thing Happened

A soft rain was falling,
A roof top lullabye I call it.

The sound was so peaceful,
The rhythm lulled me to sleep.

I dreamt I was sailing,
In puddles and streams.

The thunder cracked,
I awoke...my roof was leaking above me.

Nap
Babies like them
Angers toddler child
Cranky attitude puts me there
Research says teenagers need them the most
They are the hardest to convince
Bones and teeth need them bad

While You Were Napping

i look at you; i see a lot of light in you
i see a lot of hope in the eyes of you
i look at you; i see a lot of sun in you
i see a lot of free in the thoughts of you
i look at you; i feel you as a flame.
then,
i feel you burst into a fountain

when i see you i know i really see you
and all the bright bright beauty inside you
i see a lot of life inside of you
and i see all that life becoming true

when i see you i know i really see you
and all that delightful life pours from you
i feel a lot of life from you
and i see all of that life is true

cold winter blizzard
tranquility setting in
its napping weather

maybe hot cocoa
oozing marshmallows on top
lulling me to sleep

Security Misfit

For a security slot, A Sluggard,
For a praised company, rather haggard:
From long unemployment a drunkard,
Full tankard draining after full tankard.

Also, a listener at nights to Bard
And could Security suspend for Card,
Still, hopefully, he seeks to be her guard:
In many circles this fulfilling dream bared,
Most likely to collapse, if he is barred…

But a company won’t have things snapping
Through a guard sure to be caught just napping!

Premium Member Cat Napping In the Sun

A rainbow sliver of sunlight hits my white socked feet, as I sit in my recliner.
I notice the cat has strategically placed himself in the line of sunlight also.
My eyes begin to close, as I snore even more loudly than Shark, my tabby.

                                     sun enters crevice
                                  landing on happy tabby
                                    snoring commences

Premium Member Wide-Awake Napping

Fn->spacebar lights my keyboard
So I can see the keys to score
Wanted placement in the game of poetry
Top links in line so I'm not ignored

Little mouse help route my cursor
So more corrections makes things less worser
Oh I miss my pen and eraser
And the days I was an ardent curser

But today I let the keys do the tapping
While my mind is set a rapping
And the computer seems to do more work
As I'm just here wide-awake napping

Premium Member Napping In the Sun

Lying outside in my pajamas soaking up the sun
Time of day matters not, no one is coming here anyway.
It could be morning, noon, three p.m. Who cares?

Cozy and comfortable, watching cardinals swoop in
Eating thousand dollars worth of bird seed a month
Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but they are eaters.

Listening to the neighbor’s incessant lawn mower
He must mow six hundred days a year; but at least he can
He cannot drive a car because he has epilepsy.

People are dying; it says so on TV. Pandemic is eating lungs.
Clogging them up, other people, not me. Not yet.
I settle into a favorite position, a monarch breezes past.

The monarch is safe, I think. The blue jay is safe. The cardinal is safe.
A spider walks up the white siding, and I look at it. You are safe, I say.
There is a virus, but not here, here we are all safe.

I hear my husband coughing.
Reminding me that every day is a gift.
I stay out two more hours
napping in the sun

Premium Member Wonderful Napping Weather

Falling asleep softly
On a mellow summers day
My eyes flutter open at rooster’s crow
I sit in my porch chair listening to the gentle hum,
Softly serenading me and the cat to sleep,
Lulling us with gentle wind chimes and grasshoppers buzz
A variety of bugs are humming and droning
Spreading magic melody throughout the meadow
Wonderful napping weather.
I let my eyes gently close.

Napping Under the Haystack

The boy who resides over the sheep seems to have dozed off in the midst of the
changing times

Everything around him is traveling at a light year speed

And jet-lag has taken its toll on the one napping under the haystack

So I guess its up to someone else to blow the horn

But who?

It looks like everyone else was along for the ride with Little Boy Blue

Now the cows and sheep are out of place

Heading for the cliff at a fast pace

So lets all wake up before we lose all of our LIVESTOCK

And before our LIFE STOCK starts to decline

Find an alarm clock and set it for yesterday

And take some of the pressure off of Little Boy Blue
