Beer

Barrels

On wagons,

Surrounded by

Bavarian girls

In folkloric costumes-

Waving at all the tourists,

Raising beer steins as they roll by.

The beginning of Oktoberfest....

The opening parade's in September!

When Fall arrives in Munich, Germany,
Exciting times bring visitors from far and near,

With people dancing, singing, mugs of beer held high,
In halls or tents, saluting so rambunctiously, and
Loving our Oktoberfest with heartfelt cheer that
Lasts more than two weeks with much to see and do.

Parades, arcades, and rides, much like a carnival,
Aglow with dancers in bright Bavarian dress, and
Rides on quaint, old-fashioned pretty carousels,
Together with the varied puppet shows, are fun;
Yes, even shooting galleries to test one's aim.

Laughter and cold beer in mugs enjoyed by most;
If not one's taste, great wines are sold 'neath tents.
Kept close at hand, champagne, cocktails; also
Enjoyed are fresh-squeezed juices if one must abstain.

The delicious food consists of many tastes and treats:
Hearty eaters gather round wild ox roast on a spit, or
Enjoyed is chicken with potato dumplings, red cabbage;
Relished too are Bratwurst, spaetzle, and baked beans,
Ending with desserts like rich black forest cake, plump
Strudels filled with fruit and gingerbread creations.

No one goes hungry at this great Oktoberfest, and
Of many fests around the world, is rated one of best.

To dance and sing with spirits high and free
On meadow grounds in city center, brings joy to
Munich, where feasts were held since eighteen-ten.
Opening with carriages and floats of costumed scenes
Reveals the promises of drink, loud songs, and dance.
Resounding well into the festive night, we sing,
Oh, happy time for us! Let's toast to love and life, and
We will party like there's no tomorrow!

Oktoberfest - Munich Madness

Welcome! everybody now
Europeans, Italians and otherwise

Wild birds all set to crow
Intent on pretzels and gnocchi
Liters of beer and wine prevail
Local foods will make you drool

Party-goers in the groove gear up
Arriving with cheers - Huzza!
Returning guests and those on tour
Teetotalers too we will admit
You are welcome; come and stay

Lederhosen and dirndls, dress apparel
Initial parade complete with confetti
Kicks off the breweries' lark
Every first Sunday, a costume parade

Trendy tents offer entertainment
Historic foods, mostly deutsch
Even children enjoy rides and flume
Reservations you will prefer
Early evening tents may close
Should safety cause concerns

No first-timer can turn down
Ox on a spit and all things potato

Thrills last for more than a fortnight
Oompah music always crescendo
Munich Madness - groups perform
Oktoberfest yodeling, give it a go
Regulation insures your beer -
Real German malt lager
Official toast, “O'zapft is!” - Cheerio!
We will party like there’s no tomorrow

A Visit In Munich, Germany

What a sight to behold! A home to immigrants,
a spectacular city rolled with a wealth of arts!
predominantly Catholic with its many facets
its historical resonance and genesis of existence.

While it’s a welcome contrast from other countries,
there’s evidence that it’s replete with triumph and fall;
just after Bolzano, Trento, Rovereto, Verona Porta Nuova,
Peschiera del Garda, Desenzano della Garda-Sirminione and Brescia.

That from Milan Central Station the train arrives in Monaco.
Indeed, I was so impressed to see the main city
its combined history and culture; a satisfaction
just on the horizons they gave me an enormous impression
to the so-called civilization that München defines its soul.

Churches can be found almost in every corner
with their baroque or lavish rococo architecture,
some artifacts and gothic designs in some parts
in the eye of the beholder, they’re indeed a treasure.

People from all walks of life converge at the epicentre
the bustling footpaths, crowded shops and restaurants
with families from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Pakistan
Asians or other Europeans in common desire
this place holds a promise for future and families.

Germans in general, love to drink and hang out with friends
a place like Hofbräuhaus where huge crowds can be found
a good description, the best picture to recall.
Deutsch, the language spoken but difficult to learn
gave me an impression of its beauty in articulation.
With their conventional greetings like in many other cultures
respect is the by-word along with courtesy and reason.
like the Olympic Park, Marienplatz, Nymphenburg palace,
English Garden, Königsplatz and many other sights
They’re beautiful places steeped with history and connection
to the people of München who love their own culture.

I may not be keen about other European cuisines
however, as a person drawn to taste them all
with a sweet tooth I couldn’t resist a typical German version
of the American pancake served in the morning
kaiserschman, its name and it’s common to all.

If you ever go to Munich for you must see
the church of our lady it's cathedral is
nestled in late gothic brick it's a beautiful
landmark there a symbol of such peace
the bricks so nicely placed like angels
were up all night performing these two
towered structures it enhanced my glory
the gold in the ceiling capturing
the smiles of the people surrounding this
beautiful faith dome pure compassion leaves
your soul landing in the heart of a stranger
causing a sense of family for loving always
one god knowing we are safe from satan
as you enter there's a dark imprint of a
foot print the teusfelstrict it is said
by local lore's to be the devils when he
challenged von pollen to build a nave
with out windows as he excepted
and so stands this enormous window
invisible to the naked eye

Munich

A faction of three benches
	Anchored at the face of the curbside
	Woodend and blemished as an old ruined diary after years of worn
	Glimmering light that breathes life
	Slate gray glistens on the surface
	Illuminating each element of beauty held in this city

	Enchanting the street lights stand
	Black iron who twists and coil high above
	A podium these flames of light settle
	A song that is hummed by the radiant glow
	Allocated on a marble pedestal they shine

The travelers, they are roaming ants
	Out searching for a destination, with no place to hide
	With only happiness as a terminal longing to be reached

Hold close to the Disney enchantment this city carries

A Gothic cathedral poised tall and handsome Hear the mellow swallow of the bells echoing in the tour
	Cloaking and dancing through the picturesque streets
	Electrifying one’s veins as if a virgin to the sound

Yellow is the mood
Who brightens all’s hearts
	Felt within the streets and the sky
	Excitement entrenched entirely within the medieval streets
Allurement lingers in the air
Eyes and hearts entangled in this city’s charm
Bringing light to Marienplatz sitting on archway crutches
Admiring the ones down below with twinkles in their eyes

Never ending is the streets
In a big city with tantalizing taste
A dream this rare city can be to the modern folk
Oh to what do we owe to such a captivating aura of a city?

you'd awakened my soul again
as my dying mind drifted beyond
the tall pines of perlarcher forest
I'd mingled aimously about

the falling leaves as my heart roared
of a distant thunder that henceforth
became a solemn song of solidarity
oh how wise my soul stood seperate

from my coarse being catering
to the rough edges of the Bavarian Alps
drawing the crisp daffodils
silently surrounding the bottom

of the snowcapped plains
only fragments of me were left
as my body became a tomb
that in cased all thy youthfulness

that once glistened with the coming
of winters briskness how eloquent
the mere barbarism how bloody crude
nature existing within

the sultriness of a sparrow's eye

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Autumn’s abundance attracts adventurers to Munich.
Oompa bands boast boisterous beats.
Beneath the boundless, blue Bavarian skies,
Bountiful banquets beckon where breads and bratwurst blend,
Beer bottles beckon, from barrels and bars.
Steins are sloshed with swaggering splendor.
Generations gather; Bavarians bask in bucolic bliss.
Hearts harmonize in humble hymns of heritage held dear.
Hand in hand, they huddle, harvesting hope
*Oktoberfest in Germany will take place from September 20 to October 5, 2025. This annual festival is held at the Theresienwiese in Munich. (source: oktoberfest.de). You still have time to book a flight and travel to Munich; hotel rooms, though, will be hard to find.  smiles
