Best More Giving Poems
She isn't beautiful as Nefertiti was.
And unlike Helen,
her face will never launch a thousand ships.
My Maggie's beauty is more open, than entrancing
more welcoming, than enthralling,
more giving, than demanding,
more durable, than perfect.
Perfection inspires no passion,
no lust.
Nefertiti over Maggie?
Maggie, with her woman's body?
Maggie, with flesh where woman should have flesh?
Maggie, with fullness where love and longing
would suffer nothing else?
Yet she strews a careless beauty all about her,
the tender beauty in her gaze
that holds and softens and moulds
a better man within me
than the one that she first knew,
and the bold, brave beauty of her crooked smile,
her smile that tells me who she is,
and who she does not care to be.
Her smile may never softly kill a single soul
but it warms me, softly warms me
as I hold her spent and gentle body close to mine
it warms me to dream dreams beyond my worth
and aspire beyond my dreams.
Missing Teeth
Authored by Chuck Keys
a rainbow walked into my room
pretty enough to bloom
pink and purple with smiling missing
teeth, happy as a butterfly cutely reminiscing
fulfilled deep brown eyes open wide sensitive
pensive and alert digesting the entirety of it all
innocently studying my face, yet with question
licking her lips, hungry in thought ...
reciprocal smiles signaling raceless acceptance
blind to doubt, hate, and experience of time
wanting to thirst willing to trust without rage
demanding more giving more deserving more
she stands proud filled with sugary sweetness
youthfully contrasting my many years
she calls me papa, i call her princess
missing teeth and all
I was less once
The day before I met you
Before I saw myself through your eyes
Before I believed I was worthy of a forever love
A completing love
I didn't know
I didn't understand
That I could love someone
The way that I love you
Moments have turned into years
and years feel like moments
I feel I can be me
and still I want to be more because of you
A better man
A more giving considerate man
My wish for you is to know that I have never stopped seeing you
I appreciate the kindness and generosity of your soul
You give of yourself each day
Your heart is a truly splendid thing
Your beauty takes my breath away
I still feel shy when you look at me
My body still aches with my need of you
You are God's greatest and most treasured gift
You are the proof that He Loves and knows me
Yes, I was less once
The day before I met you!

You think it a lie, seeing that
old man in the mirror: some
imposter taking your name,
living in your house, calling
out to your wife as though
he had married her 40 years
ago and not you... what can
the old fellow want of you,
you wonder, and would ask,
but you fear his laughter....
So you never speak with him
and he runs the place just
as he sees fit: sleeping late,
eating early, taking a nap
and going for brief walks
when you'd prefer a jog.
He also doesn't care much
for taking those long drives
you love so much--too, too
far away from comfy home.
A thousand carefree miles
is but a dream to you,
while he shudders like it's
climbing Mount Everest!
Worst of all, he is less
patient with the myriad
fools of the world-- so
he'll rant and rave
when clerks misbehave.
And his politics! Right
and right he feels,
caring naught for the
downtrodden masses.
Yet he is kinder than
you ever were, more
thoughtful of others,
more giving, less taking.
He loves his friends and
doesn't seduce women
only to leave them empty.
Best of all, the old man
loves God-- he won't
see belief as folly,
for he has learned
the real illusion is
mortality, so he knows
death is a door, not
an impregnable wall.
You could learn much
from the old man
you share a life with,
but you won't, for
you are young--
what are God and
death and endless
soul to you...?
So, granny, they tell me you died yesterday
i wish i could have known you better,
i wish i knew the stories you had,
of love and loss, of joy and sorrow,
I could sit for hours, listening, and learning
A sweet old lady, with a long history, how beautiful is that?
I was busy, struggling, with my own story.
Wow, i do have regret, a loss,
i guess, i should have reached out to you,
been your student,
what did you have to teach?
I hear you were angry,
9 children, dozens of grandchildren and theirs
no one visited you, showed you love,
not even me.
So, you are in the afterlife now,
released, and let go of the tired body.
Our tears are with you, in our loss,
We all loved you, but were too wounded by life,
to see you, to know you, to be close.
The love we should have had.
I painted you, sitting in purgatory,
surrounded by the angels of healing,
I ask the angels to hold you gently as you cry,
and nurture your wounds from this life
The colors of regret and anger,
dissolving,
into acceptance and love.
we all need you to heal quickly
and be our guide.
A voice from heaven
teaching us to love more, give more and forgive.
We all give thanks to the life you lived,
and the lives you brought into this world.
We will all appreciate each other more,
a little more giving, a little more love,
all inspired by the life you lived and left.
One of the most positive writes i have witnessed to date
Was written today and well worth the wait
An awesome Quatrain, by this Devonshire poet
If you have read her past writes, you would certainly know it
What we see in our world now, is what she wants us to see
Dinosaur remains are an example to me
This beautiful planet will gladly reveal
As she shares her histories, our mysteries reveal
If we let her breathe, sigh and flourish
She may be more giving, as we help her re-nourish
And this write will be remembered for its visionary
And her mysteries will be our history

Laying in bed
Can't stand or walk
The day has come
No more talk.
I see it in my mind
I feel it in my heart
I took the first steps
Now that's a start.
It's time to get up
It's time to get on my feet
No more giving up
Until my goal is complete.
I need to do this
It's been way too long
I promise you my love
Walking next to you is where I belong.
Dont give up on me
I won't give up on you
Together we can
See this whole thing through.
One day very soon
We will walk together hand in hand
With some work
I promise I will stand.
Favors taken for granted, often will cease to be granted.
People won't keep giving, giving, and more giving,
If the receivers aren't willing to at least recognize
The efforts or means sacrificed in their behalf.
Granted, 'altruism' is a wonderful characteristic to possess;
The concept is even referenced in the Sermon On The Mount:
"Let not your right hand know what your left hand doeth";
But there are more scriptures encouraging gratitude than altruism.
Blessings taken for granted will soon cease to be granted.
If you pray, don't just keep asking, asking, and more asking.
Recognize express gratitude for what you received and keep receiving.
"Please" and "Thank You" are most important words in every language.

TAGORE ON
I just happened reading Rabindranath Tagore’ s poem called “The Gardener.”
The Gardener XL: An Unbelieving Smile
“……the dark rim of your eyes.
Then smile as archly as you like
when I come again.”
I am a Wheel, my blood flows inward
Of its spokes.
I am a Star,
My blood dissolves
In its Middle.
The Middle is without Time.
Here is where I am born.
Here the Poet letting Go:
Pollen, Sac, Belly
To more giving
Yes—
The weeks go on
And I contemplate the Gardener
Basing on cumulative
Bending, drawing in
Giving Magnificence
Back to the Universe
Stranded between Reason and Awe.
Tagore brings the World
In as Word/song.
With Black and white
His work became tight
As the freest gift
In specially the Light.

BROKEN HEART (COMPLETE VERSION)
I have been loved and I have been thrown
It's nobody's fault but my own
I thought I was not alone, I thought it was you and me
But believing you ended up in you leaving me
Now I don't trust no more, giving my heart away
No I won't do this no more
I tried to pull this on, I tried to undo the wrongs
But your heart here, doesn't seems to belong
I tried to do the right, bring an end to this fight
I know I hit you, but I am sorry alright
You may have hit me twice. In our relationship, this won't happen twice
I promise and I promise to keep my promise, I will do no more fight
But with you gone, I stand alone, so many faces but I am still alone
It's like I am blown away and tossed into the deep.
Baby why are you doing this to me?
What about the love we used to share? What about the times we
used to care?
Come let's take another leap, let's start over a new leaf
Let's end this madness and start all over again
Let's be together forever and forever, again
Let's not end this all in blames and flames

I believe in God
and in His word
I believe if used
wisely it's an effective
tool for
recalibrating
humanity
However, it is not
cut and dry
nor black or white
to me anyway
I evolved
with my insights
It is not
bound by hell
therefore it
cannot be
contained to only
heaven.
Once religion
is peeled away
we see the world
from a more spiritual place
we recognize
energy and God seed
and touched dreams
in all beings
Whether it be
a meal for those
who are hungry
or skyscraper
that employs
those for more giving
We adopt the
need to push ourselves
further or bend low
in order to help one another
Yes, I believe,
but it's a faith
without borders
If God is water
religion was the intended
tributary to get us all
to the river
so we could flow
forevermore
a part of one ocean.
and indivisible
Slip do dah!
Slip my way
Sliding slick surfing time dismay
Who is to say
When winds blow
Anchors distill today
Carried cases of bait to start the day
Who is to say
How many will I catch today
Prosperity some will pay
Others to fill the baskets of bull winkles tray
Laugh today
Some scenes of life carries scripts plots plays
Legendary short cuts take 1 began gray
But today life begins surpasses grasses blade
Today growth expands creative pathways
Today is the day no more giving gave away
Receiving reception manifested may
Over whelm greater is he who believed this day
Will last for eternities sake
This day smile releases extravagant benefits to stay
Long lasting living life by planned purposes way
