Retired Romance : Repost

...Now I ain't without notoriety,
Fact is.. I'm an old stalker with a walker.
She was big in the Purple Hat Society
and broke her hip,...while playing soccer.

When I met her, she was on the mend,
and she knew.. what I was after...
and I said I'd catch her when I can,
She said to push that walker a lil' faster.

She had her a "lectric wheel chair,
I just had my old walker and me,
she was pretty fast for a blue hair...
"till I crashed into her I.V. tree...

Well, they fitted my leg with plaster,
and I kinda forgot what I was after...
"till one day,
she wheeled in to see me,
Yep. Said she'd come ta free me!

Now we sit together,
cozy up and talk about the weather.
We compare wrinkled tatoos,
and guess what they are,
we may share a shot of booze,
we don't go too awful far...

We keep our orthepedic shoes
under the same bed,
and I retired as a walker stalker,
meals on wheels keeps us fed
and we keep our teeth...
in the very same locker.

OH NAKED MAN IN HARMONIA
TELL ME WHAT IS LOVE

Love is when a sensitive child
Happens on a flowering hillside and
Cries out with joy

In the blazing eyes of a cat
The eyes only
Be it live
Or photograph

Love’s power is
That it has no secrets
Will allow none

Love will settle on a countenance
And strip it bare
For all the world to see

An old old man
Given up struggle
Given up thought
Helpless before his maker

Love has no earthly intelligence
But chooses fool
Or Saint alike

Some say love is complexity
But I say that love is simplicity
And draws its power
From contrast with complex things

So simple love
That it brings tears
Of disbelief

If love is fine
Where love is serf
Just think how great
Where love is king

On this side they call it love
What needs no name
In its kingdom

Love is not a God
It is a helpless thing
Without a power to persuade

Love needs no thought.
Those who think they love
Do not love at all

Think of every worldly set of situations
Thought about and then
Declare that love is none of these
None of these are love

Under the Old Elm Tree

Sitting under the old elm tree with
his sweet heart many a year ago,
her hazel eyes looking at him
with tears flowing down her
beautiful tender face.

War had come and he must
do his duty, he told her
that dreadful day in
June of 1917.

Don't go, please stay,
I can't bear to lose
you she pleaded with
him.

Dear I will return,
then we shall marry
on my dad's farm,
as we had planned
to do this very month.

With that he kissed
her gently and held
her so tightly in his
arms for a very long
most precious time.

Then they both went
back to the old farm house,
to have some quite
time together,
maybe for the last time.

Wasted Time

The time that I have wasted is my biggest regret,
spent in these places I will never forget.
Just sitting and thinking of the things I have done,
the crying, the laughing, the hurt and the fun.

Now it's just me and my hard driven guilt,
behind a wall of emptiness I allowed to be built.
I'm trapped in my body, just wanting to run,
back to my youth with it's laughter and fun.

But the chase is over and there's no place to hide,
everything is gone,including my pride.
With reality suddenly right in my face,
I am scared and alone and stuck in this place.

Now memories of the past flash through my head,
and the pain is obvious by the tears that I shed.
I ask myself why and where I went wrong,
I guess I was weak when I should have been strong.

Living for the days and the wings I had grown,
my feelings were lost, afraid to be shown.
As I look at my past it's so easy to see,
the fear that I had, afraid to be me.

I pretended to be rugged so fast and so cool,
when actually I was lost like a blinded old fool.
I'm getting to old for this tiresome game,
of acting real hard with no sense of shame.

It's time that I change and get on with my life,
fulfilling my dreams to be a better mother and wife.

When We Were Yesterday (Nestorian Sonnet)

Ah not so long ago, when we were us, time was all ours!
We let our spirits happily sway in the great fountain
Of faith, where we etched our own history counting the stars
Fluttered in the night sky. Oh, what a passion we had then!

And I kept you in the rosy earth of my heart so glee.

That when you returned, back from a lady boot shaped country,
And seeing you one day, alone, under the glimmers of
A retreating sun, I hurried my shadow along the
Street of for old time sake to hug you, to express my love.

When I had you there was no such hunger, nor thirst in me.

But now as I embraced you, I hardly felt the warmth of
Your blood. I wonder why; is it ‘cause now a cold season,
Or maybe jet lag still eats you? Sure you’ll take yourself off
From my reasoning, and be more fixed on your salvation.

* Nestorian Sonnet is a variant form of old sonnet and in it are three quatrains that rhyme,
with fourteen syllables in each line. Line five rhymes with line ten and it is not necessary to
end it with a rhyming couplet.

Premium Member A New Love

My old love’s gone, and now a new love’s here
although with that old love she can’t compete!
She’s silver smooth from front - to tiny rear;
More practical than my old love, yet sweet!
And like my old love, she is always near.
She’s not as sporty, but she’s just as fleet.
And though I miss my honey “ragtop” girl,
I take my new love “Kia” for a whirl!

Theme: New Love

Old Flame

Fire rekindle as the old ashes are still burning
The flame in ones soul ignites
The soul awakens as there is a new yearning
In your own world was born a new light
Overflowing passion with ones mind interacting
All your thoughts and memories seemingly far away
The past experiences present counteracting
The love, your love wishes to keep it at bay
Remaining focused and still yet no resolve
Tighten your grip on your own reality
The mixture of your absurd fantasies dissolved
Free yourself from this passion insanity
Wherever you go, you always here their name
That spark, a small spark which was your old flame

My Elder Love

Madame, thou art mature and must I say...
Thy wine is old and pleasing to the taste
The love you give to me no one could weigh
Yet eyes eavesdrop on evenings we embrace
Your years above my age is their distaste

For you came like a cougar in the night
Desires upon my flesh you did delight
After our lips would play and kiss with tongue
We lay in love and looking in the light
You would say I was old and she was young

The Old Guitar

Seeing that old guitar
hanging on the wall,
a reminder of love
to many it was known;
guitar was always
in perfect tune
when it plays the song
of two hearts in bloom

Seeing that old guitar
hanging on the wall,
a memory of love
that was bound to fall;
when guitar played
a different melody
and broken tears
blended in its harmony

Seeing that old guitar
hanging on the wall,
could it still play
that familiar song;
guitar in solitude
many years has passed
still remain untouched
by then knowing hands

Old Dog, New Trick

You can teach an old Dog a new trick

But

The Dog will do its old tricks more

Because

It knows them better

A Good Life

From sun up till dark, day after day,
Hard and tiring work, but it was honest pay.
Worked like a dog scratching out a living,
On this old rundown farm where life can be cruel and always unforgiving.

Fighting every element that was ever known to man,
From droughts to blizzards you learn to do the best, the best that you can.
You watch your wife grow old before her time,
Saving every nickel, squeezing every dime.

Your children, always a blessing, as you sit down for your evening meal,
And share their days adventures and reap their love, such an awesome deal.
You hold hands and say grace, and give to God, His justly praise,
For these are unforgettable memories that reward your twilight days.

He thanks the Lord for his wife who stands steadfast by his side,
He knows without her it would all be for naught as he stares at her with pride.
Being poor has its many blessings that some will never see,
The closeness of a family that has known love, God, and poverty.

After supper the children clear the table and do the dishes too,
And paw and maw sit on their old porch and talk about things they need to do.
Then the children join in, and tell stories and sing some old church hymns.
Then it’s off to bed, but not before getting on his knees and giving thanks once more to Him.

Waves Roar

Wow
Never new that ppl can do the positions in which they have been given
Driven am I by this astonishment
Things can be so so hard to get
But with persistence n a spirit of never uffing quit will bend the whims of the chaotical nymphs
Prodigal yet knowledgeable
N old paths reopen
N old mind sets try to begin
Cut it off before the start
Move on before the scab is closing the heart
In the back of my mind it stills creeps to the front but this is moving forward not quite yet moving on
Sleep will catch up
Dreams will wake up
Serene with pastures of green that knowingly ain't so much
Will be soft as is but never to tuff
Climbing out
Yes
Hard work
Nothing handed with my luck
It's ok its appreciated much much
more
Hold on
Becuz a new wave is coming to boggie board

Very First Date Contest

I had a couple of dates in grade school,
but I don't count them, since they were pointless.
My real first date went something like this.
I was a 14 year old freshmen
and she was a 17 year old junior.

I was a football player,
she was a cheerleader.
Together we went to the movies,
but she made all the moves on me.
I was lost in world of disarray.

After the movies she asked what I wanted to do.
It didn't matter to me, I could have died happy there.
She drove to a spot over looking the city.
We talked and she asked if I liked baseball and I said sure.
Then she said, wanna try for second and maybe steal third?

As my heart was pounding, I looked at her and said,
I would love to do that for you, but I can't, I play football.
Looking back, I think I messed that up.

Nine

Nine Months
Not nine and a half
Still hurting
Broken heart

Nine Weeks
Not nine and a half
Too old for that
Too old by half

Nine Days
Not nine and a half
Still counting
I know it's daft

Nine Minutes
Not nine and a half
Tears flowed
To, fro and aft

Nine seconds
Not nine and a half
Writing these words
And now its past.

Thinking of You....

When the leaves fall down
As eternal love,
A drought hit town
Dreams of clouds above

When the birds they're excited
By the morning glow
Or an old poem's recited
In a single flow

When a dog it dies
From sheer cold
But the raven still flies
Though hundred years old

When the old man he sleeps
With eyes wide open
And the heart it weeps
For the word's unspoken

When the men in war
Shall rest in peace
And their mothers too far
Got no more wish.

Like a beautiful dove
In a glorious flight,
Or two souls in love
In their final night

When a couple wish
They'd never wed
When you cant cherish
The joy you get

Shall a bullet though small
Run through my chest
Though my mind may not recall
Thinking of you... I shall rest
