Peanuts Charlie Brown's Snoopy

My favourite comics is the Peanuts strip
Featuring 'good grief' good old Charlie Brown
Reading it takes me on a pleasant trip
Especially when Snoopy is around

Charlie Brown's faithful beagle is Snoopy
They get along with each other quite well
He can be sneaky when he is ready
Yet, just when and where, you can never tell

When Linus, in one hand, holds his blanket
The thumb of his other hand in his mouth
Snoopy sneaks in, suddenly grabs hold of it
Then runs around, spinning him all about

Yellow Woodstock is Snoopy's feathered friend
He bounces up and down when he's flying
On Snoopy's friendship he needs to depend
He alone knows what Woodstock is saying

Snoopy flies off in his Sopwith Camel
To the skies to battle the Red Baron
They both engage in a fearsome duel
Each trying to outdo the other one

Snoopy dances around when he's happy
If Lucy is close by, she must watch out
He would dance up to her very closely
Lean over and then kiss her on the mouth

Linux - By Bob Atkinson

Linux
    - by Bob Atkinson

Linus had a vision
of that which percolates
upon the scene of tradition
giving wheat grain at the gate

to better the community
by effort of the hand of man
wherein we all accumulate
repayment for our plans

he sought that which one sees
in visions traded for
efforts of the skills obtained
on all the foreign shores

no matter who we are in our
simple lives of quiet revision
we do our individual part by
coding commerce for his vision

whereby the info flows down on
a matrix of delight
accomplishing our harder tasks
as if by a quill pen's light

Linus kept it simple
no greed carried within
let the others steal from man
his objective was to give

Lost

Previews were many for a series called "Lost"
The cast was extensive, oh what a cost!

Production gave, to the viewers, a plight,
When Oceanic 815 began its fated flight

Something went wrong, the plane began to fall
It crashed on an island, a mystery to us all

The passenger list was many, few survived
Eventually, we lost, some who were alive

Injuries were treated, thanks to Dr. Jack
He soon became the leader of the pack

There were families, sisters and brothers
We, soon learned that there were others

Attraction was immediate, when Dr. Jack saw,
Kate, who was running from the law

Conman, Sawyer set his sight on Kate too,
Poor Kate, she just didn't know what to do

With the heart of a killer, Sayid had skill
He could be a friend or just as easily kill

Hurley would prove to be a loyal friend
He came with a quickness to defend

Desmond spent years resetting the clock,
Until he ran away and left it to John Locke

People soon learned that it was a mistake,
To trust Ben Linus, because he was a fake

The Smoke Monster was The Man in Black
Then he became Locke, when he came back

Jacob is gone, yet he still hangs around
Claire was missing, now she's been found

When beloved characters met their demise
It kept the show interesting, I realize

Hero Jack is my favorite, yet I shed a tear,
For Charlie, Jin, and Sun, who were also dear

So many questions, will we ever find out,
Exactly what this Island, is really about

The series is ending, scripts are being tossed,
I'll have to watch repeats, or I will be lost!

Charlie Brown offered his pal Linus
Food that Lucy said was the finest
She said it was Hummus
Charlie you’re the dumbest
Good grief, that stuff came from her sinus

Orange In My Pocket

When I arrived I brought with me
an orange in my pocket
it warmed me nearly, as my girl
her picture in my locket
providing me security
like Linus and his blanket
it cleansed me of my awkwardness
its scent wafted about
helping me to feel at peace
once I took it out
its orange glow provided strength
in a chilly world
just like the warmth I felt
back home with my girl
it transformed my imagining
dead trees came to life
the fruit it bared
that I held dear
I gave it to my wife
a chance to strive
our drama free from strife
red is fine, yellow too
it's better when they meet
blending in a fruitful whirl
my girl is orange sweet

Counterpole

My rhymes are timeless while this time is lifeless
why is life this kind less, reminds me that this
mind is spineless ready to tip and quit, as
my lies become mindless and get swollen shut
and Stuck up inside my sinus
Drivin in my prime but with no optimus
Victim to the flip-side of the Midas
Running through my blood like a virus
The sun makes my skin mundane
rubbin on ben gay but get arthritis
touch spermicide and converts to hepatitis
I hit the plus sign but it just musters up a minus
I'm seen sucking my thumb like the peanut's Linus
I run and duck when I hear the sirens cause
I abducted the president's Nike air pumps
now air force one is trying to find us
I'm at my desk obsessin about success but
This whole time its been right behind us

Snoopy and Linus Play Blanket Tug of War

Snoopy is a crazy dog
His heads always in a fog
Thinking of some fun new ways
To steal a blanket each day
That Linus loves very much
But its like an evil rush
That turns Snoopy really "mad"
He wants this blanket really bad
Hiding in trees way up high
He'll pounce Linus walking by
With an evil scary look
Becoming a blanket crook
Not giving up he will succeed
Something in him really needs
To win this blanket tug of war
It is deep in Snoopy's core
To find a cooky silly plan
And pull it out of this boys hand

A request from my daughter which I
gladly wrote

Three Scientific Clerihews

I.

The great Albert Einstein
Would appreciate a fine wine,
And after sipping a little
He would play upon his fiddle

II.

The legendary chemist Linus Pauling
Found the hydrogen and atom bombs appalling,
And after winning one for chemistry he would not cease
Until he won another Nobel Prize for peace.

III.

Madame Marie Sklodowska Curie
Was just as famous as could be—
Amidst the fin-de-siècle pandemonium
She discovered radium and polonium.

Brutus Iulius Trois Page 05

Brutus Iulius Trois Page 05

Loud laughed Pandrasus Hear the mice roar
yet stubborn Pandrasus swiftly gave chase
over the high mountain, through the deep forest
so easily he fell to the trap Brutus had laid
on Achelous's banks Brutus did ambush the king

Brutus standing tall looked down at Pandrasus
Pandrasus said Brutus Irony is fates game
Greek oppression rebuilt my nation
in truth you Pandrasus built my wooden horse
Metrophanes , a grandchild of great Priam
by Imbrius's widow, the captive Medesicaste
Crowned Brutus with a Laurel wreath
shouting in Greek, Hail Brutus the new Pandrasus
repeating in the Trojan tongue -hail The new Pendragon
Long may he rule over all of Chaonia
Brutus pulled off the wreath, not even by conquest is this land mine.
Greek soil is too bitter to nurture Trojan Roots
I would wash even my sandals in the sea and return to Troy

No shouted Linus one of the half blooded
I speak now for many men present
full blood, half blood we all bled for you
Our families were Trojans but Troy is no more.
Brutus! we have avenged the Trojan shame
Brutus! our wives, our children are Greek
we are not Argonauts to sail after adventure
we are not Trojans who fled from defeat
we are like the great warrior Ulysses
reluctant to leave home even for war
but stout fighters all and we are the victors
Brutus! we are Trojans only in name.

Assaracus grandson of Helenus crossed to the fore
Linus I led these enslaved sons before your birth
I gave Brutus the sword which cut our bonds
for brave Linus I also feared to use it.
My mother was Trojan My father Greek
I loved both must I choose between them?
Brutus the Trojan, Linus the Greek must I choose?
We are as a new nation, a new people
the old Phoenix dies as the new Phoenix soars
above the flames of its fathers funeral pyre
Aeneas, Ulysses, now Brutus were exiles
let our new people follow the new Pendragon home.

Brutus Iulius Trois Page 06

Brutus Iulius Trois Page 06

The defeated Pandrasus spoke out
his weary words weighted with wisdom.
Linus is as Greek as I am Greek and as a Greek
let him inherit the crown, I'll name no other heir.
take for yourself as bride my Imogen, my daughter
many fine ships shall be her portion
and peace shall be proud Imogen's price
Set sail Brutus, leave all that is Greek behind
take those who would be Trojans home to Troy

Grey bearded Membyr rapped his cane for silence.
Fools with hands still bloody from fighting!
What peace can live with the families of the slain?
Linus will wait for a crown he won't live to wear.
Brutus accept the kings tribute and let us depart.

light heart-ed Brutus danced long at his wedding
Ere he left Chanoia to sail home, home to Troy
happy Brutus was with his bride fair Helen's image
youthful Imogen, old Pandrasus's proud daughter
with his new ships Brutus went sailing , keeping to the coastlines
through the archipelagos, around the Greek peninsula
at every anchorage being joined by freedmen and escaped bonds men
at every anchorage being provisioned by small kings and unhappy chieftains
who hastily sent away this army of would be Trojans back to Troy

An unwilling wife was Imogen who wept for her homeland
her eyes turned to the shore while it was in sight
Imogen wept for her mother, her father, her fate
Imogen wept for her spinning wheel and wept for her loom
Imogen wept for her gardens, her gowns and her goats
Imogen wept for all that was hers, which was left behind.
Brutus soothed and kissed her holding her tightly
until weary with weeping Imogen slept.

At Sounion, Brutus climbed the cliff to Neptune's temple,
offering a spotted bull with passionate prayers for a safe voyage
As the sun set on the Aegean, a citizen came from Athens.
Philaeus, son of Eurysaces, the last king of Salamis.
An oracle of Apollo had demanded he renounce his rights to rule
and have Neptune's lost sacrifice returned to its altar
So he gave away his kingship, and came here carrying Hesione's ashes
Hesione, the stolen sister of Priam. The late payment of Laomedon's debt.
As Laomedon's heir, Brutus accepted the task
taking the veil covered amphora, he gave it great honor
placing it upon his own ship, fastened securely behind the prow

My Blankie

It tags along with me wherever I go
There isn't any journey my blankie isn't in tow
Like a super hero cape I wear it wrapped around my shoulders
As I explore my top secret mission waiting around the boulders
On long rides in the car it keeps me warm
I use it to take down bad guys that swarm
I use it to make my own secret lair
I set a sign outside of it saying enter if you dare
I sometimes use my special blankie to dry my crocodile tears
I took it with me my first day of school and like a superhero I faced some pretty big fears
My blankie is super soft and cozy
It makes a soft landing when I'm playing ring around the rosie
It gets drug through the dirt mud rain and snow
Indestructible like a superhero, wouldn't you know
Sometimes I'll use it to play peak a boo with my baby brother
While I'm really a super hero working under cover
I like to lay on it and day dream about the shapes of the clouds in the sky
To far away lands on my blankie being my magic carpet that I'd fly
I use it to sail the seas and take down pirates to find the burried treasure
No other blanky can ever compare or measure
I snuggle my blankie when I take a cat nap
I wear it as a royal cape with a royal crown, not cap
Some who watch Snoopy say I'm a cute little Linus
I Iike to think of myself as more like lockness
Grandma's added extra superhero patches whenever it's torn
It's extra special because she made it for me before I was born
At Nana's I take it with me for a special sleep over
It brings me luck like a four leaf clover
When I get hurt and my parents are out of sight
One hug from my blankie and my worlds been set right
At the Drs office I hold it extra tight
Mommy and Daddy tuck me in with it each night
My blankie loves me and I sure love my special blankie
Grandma says when I get bigger she's going to turn my blankie into a bunch of special hankies

Peanuts

You used to laugh every time Charlie Brown fell for lucys same old trick you never said it but your brain smiled and told you what lucy would say next .football head .
You came to work with goggles a cape and slippers on your boss thought it a bit odd and said heros dont live here go home. You moped down the walk then snoopy and Woodstock appeared on your shoulder and you understood there language and what they wanted to take you for a ride.and they took you past the sky.
You cheered for linus in all his precious moments the day he became friends with a girl with cancer and even faithfully defend her from mean little chicks.the days he carried that blanket around like it was his soul and caused every little kid in the world to follow the leader and if mom stopped to wash it they all had a fit and the days of the great pumpkin were you told your mom to never plant a pumpkin in your backyard after watching it but secretly were saving seeds.
Your childhood you grew and your last Christmas as a child you still watched the peanut christmas special wether they were dirty or playing the piano or just a brave dog kissing lucy they were all there at Christmas giving you something to hold onto.

Premium Member An Alphabetical Limerick For the Happy Barber

a singing barber raises his voice to sing
beautiful songs that make the hair take note
cutting round the ear
dadaism heeds, as
each falling hair sings down to the floor

fabulous songs from Pavarotti brings
glacier eyes against a miserable grump
here is your hat Mister Linus
I wasn't trying to be mean
just wanted your hair to have a good time !

The True Meaning of Christmas

THERE'S RUDOLPH, FROSTY, SANTA CLAUS AND GOOD OLD EBENEEZER
THERE'S CAROLS SUNG BY EVERYONE FROM KISS ON THROUGH TO WHEEZER
THERE'S CD'S OUT FROM NAT KING COLE, THE BOSTON POPS HAVE TWO
THERE'S ONE OUT NEIL DIAMOND WHICH IS STRANGE BECAUSE OLD NEIL'S A JEW

THE STORES HAVE TINSEL EVERYWHERE, THEIR TREES TOO,LOOKING NICE
THERE'S WRAPPING PAPER, CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND EVEN PLASTIC ICE
THEY ATTACK YOUR SENSES CONSTANTLY, THEY MUST THINK I'M A FOOL
FOR ALL THIS STUFF IS ON DISPLAY, BEFORE THE KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL

THERE'S A RASTAFARIAN SANTA CLAUS WITH DREADLOCKS KNOWN AS "STONEY"
GENETICALLY ALTERED TURKEY MEAT THAT TASTES JUST LIKE BALONEY
PEOPLE DON'T BUY CHRISTMAS GIFTS THEY SEEM TO JUST GIVE MONEY
SO THEY GO SHOPPING BOXING DAY, AND THIS I FIND QUITE FUNNY

THE CHARITIES ARE ON THE PHONE AND AT YOUR DOOR EACH NIGHT
THEY WORK YOU WITH SOME CHRISTMAS GUILT, AND SAY "IT'S ONLY RIGHT"
TO DONATE TO UNFORTUNATES AND THEIR FOLKS NEED IT MOST"
AS THEY FLASH THEIR SMILES, FAKE I/D'S BEFORE THEIR PHONY BOAST

PEOPLE SHOP AND BUY AND BUY AND THEN THEY ALL RE-GIFT
MOST TIMES YOU'LL GET CHRISTMAS CAKE, THAT'S REALLY HARD TO LIFT
YOU WORK O.T. AND DO YOUR BEST, YOUR CHRISTMAS CASH TO SAVE
AND YOU SMILE WHEN YOU GET YOUR GIFT, AND IT'S THE ONE YOU GAVE

CHRISTMAS IS LESS FESTIVE AND TO ME IT'S GOTTEN RATHER CLINICAL
WITH SCHEDULES MADE AND SALES AND THINGS, IT'S MADE ME RATHER CYNICAL
TO SAY WHAT CHRISTMAS REALLY MEANS, I READ THOMAS ACQUINAS
BUT INSTEAD, I'LL USE A QUOTE FROM SHCULTZ'S PROPHET LINUS

..."AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS WITH THE ANGEL A MULTITUDE OF THE HEAVENLY HOST PRAISING GOD
AND SAYING "GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE, GOODWILL TOWARD MEN.""

AND THAT IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT....PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
