An expert in the law met Jesus, though
his question, "Who's my neighbor?" was to try
to test, and maybe trick him. Christ's reply -
to tell a parable to help him grow.
"A man walked down the road to Jericho.
Thieves beat and stripped him, leaving him to die.
The man looked up with hope - a priest comes nigh,
but passing him, no mercy does he show.
A Levite, too. Then, a Samaritan
whose clan were enemies unto his race.
It was this one who saved the dying man -
the man least likely to reach out his hand.
HE was the neighbor, filled with love and grace.
Go forth and be that neighbor in the land."

What kind of people are in the Household of Faith? More specifically, in your Household of Faith,
who's there? Let's say we just limit this inquiry to the Sanctuary's
social status. Are they poor, middle class, rich, business owners and/or home owners? Is there any unemployed, any hungry, and any homeless among us? Do we assume that there is no one in our pews hungry and homeless? Please, don't stone me for asking questions.

Moreover, we cannot assume that because we are Christians, we show mercy. Remember, in Jesus' parable of The Good Samaritan, only one out of three even cared enough to do anything by showing mercy. The other two who showed no mercy, a priest and a Levite, were supposedly among the best that their society had to offer.

At the end of the conversation with the lawyer, The Amplified Bible says, Then Jesus said to him, "Go and constantly do the same." Are we constantly showing mercy or merely occasionally exercising a kind deed to members of our community?

Let's not be too quick with our answers. One last question. Again, please don't stone me! Remember that in The Good Samaritan Story, the question was asked because the man wanted to vindicate or justify himself. What is our motive if and when we consider showing mercy? It must never be about us and how it vindicates and makes us feel. May all our acts of kindness and good deeds always be about true mercy and love.

Property Rights

Rights’ rollercoaster seats these three:
1 ~ What's yours is mine. If necessary
I'll take it by force and quickly flee.
Such a ruinous view lacks maturity.
2 ~ What's mine is yours, so you may see
when need unfolds or there’s calamity,
no holding back, you can count on me.
3 ~ What's mine is mine, my philosophy.
I keep my safe locked and hide the key.
Wealth yields a status hierarchy.

A biblical parable illustrates all three.

What’s mine is yours that you may see
some men sow, so OTHERS can reap.
When thieves took yours, they wounded thee.
What’s mine is yours that you may see -
the priest and Levite were not free.
Assets were theirs and theirs to keep.
What’s mine is yours that you may see
some men sow, so OTHERS can reap.

A man was going from Jerusalem to Jericho, until evil befell him as he was robbed and left in a graven state.
Both a priest, who obeys the Laws, and a Levite, the chosen people of God to be keepers of the Laws, is passing, saw the lost soul on the wayside on the same road and chose to walk on the opposite side and away from the unpleasant site.
A Samaritan, people who are oblivious to the Laws, saw the horrible site upon approach, and gave pity, rendering aid to his wounds and comfort for his soul with reassurance of certain recovery will be forthwith.
The Samaritan sat him on his animal to a nearby inn where he was cared for at no further cost and will receive him upon the completion of his journey to seeing to his full recovery to good health.

*As scriptured.
The parable was in response to the inheritance of eternal life, when Jesus asked how it would be purposeth, he responded as written in the Laws, to love with all of your heart, soul and strength, yet, further expounding was asked when referencing who would his neighbor be, ergo, the parable. Jesus said, of the three, who would you believe that the man, whom evil had befallen upon, considered to be his neighbor. The Law abider said that it was the one who had shown mercy. Then Jesus said for him to go and do likewise.

Not one to distinguish between them & us

Baranabas was a his given,nick-name
Amongst the apostles he gained honour & fame

Speaking up for Paul in the council's sight
Standing for justice,truth and light

A man of encouragement and faith
Full of the Holy Spirit and God's grace

Forgive Me I Don'T Mean To Inturde

Forgive Me… I Don’t Mean To Intrude…

Forgive me, my Christian brother…
 I don’t mean to intrude.
I know that you’ve been pretty busy...
 I don’t want to be rude…

You told me you’re too busy. And don’t care…
But I can’t find anyone else to talk to… Anywhere!

I was hoping for just a few minutes of your time…
But you almost act like “I’ve committed a crime…”

I think of the parable of the priest,
levite or good Samaritan...
The Samaritan seen a hurting man
And took care of him!

The other two represented “the church” of the day.
They simply passed up the beaten man
without a word to say!

There’s people like him that surround
you with various needs…
Perhaps you need to go where
 the Holy Spirit leads!

Rather than making excuses of just
how busy you seem to be…
What you do or do not do will
impact someone’s eternity!

May the love of Christ compel us
 into HIS love in action.
Reaching others for Christ must be done
 with a heart of compassion!

May the love of Christ stir us
 and daily be a reminder.
To those around us… May we be sensitive and kinder!

Christ was never too busy for me.
He is always there!
May I be his example to other people….
Everywhere!

Will You Be Like the Good Samaritan

Will you Be Like The Good Samaritan?

I have a lot of problems
you may not understand.
I’m not perfect... I have a long way to go.
I sin sometimes...and does it show!

I’m probably not what you’d
expect a Christian to be.
Will you still love and accept someone like me?
I need someone to show me Christ’
love in a gentle way,
Not just in Church on Sunday—but every day.

I want to be more like Jesus...
believe me I do.
Will you show me how—
and not just sit in a pew?
I’m carrying a lot of problems,
beneath a heavy load.
I feel like the man who was beaten
on the Jericho road.

The priest... Levite... good Samaritan...
which one will you be?
To stop and care for someone such as me.
People like me surround you every day,
Please don’t just think of yourself
in a selfish way.
Allow Christ's love to break your heart so tenderly,
So you’ll begin to love people as lonely as me!

With thy staff and robes came a princely Jew,
  a prophet, a Levite son in exile;
for out of the blood and sweat of sinew
did that journey begin on the blue Nile.
Who brought to bear God’s will this land upon
for cursed he Egypt in the desert sand,
and forty years wandered in freedom won
into the covenant land of Canaan.
Born of the Israelites that Hebrew slave
led the twelve tribes in great exodus home,
and from Horeb brought down in God’s engrave
Ten Commandments upon tablets of stone.
Out of the valleys to Pisgah he trod -
great lawgiver and judge and voice of God.

The Good Samaritan

When walking from Jerusalem to Jericho..
I was stripped by robbers whom I did not know...
They beat me and left me there to lie...
Took my belongings; hoping then I would die..
I felt alone and very scared...
None passing by would help me or even cared...
A priest came by, traveling that same road..
He stopped and glanced but, continued with his load.
I called out for help in a desperate cry...
A Levite heard but, passed me on by..
The night wondered on and I was tired and cold..
I wanted desperately something warm to hold..
Then a Samaritan came by and gave me food, clothes and wine..
He was gentle and sincerely kind..
He showed me mercy and love in great size..
Jesus says please go and do likewise..

Excuse Me Dad

Excuse me Dad,

I have an urgent question.
But first let me acknowledge that my blood brother is now my brother in Christ
Recap
The brother who had ta-toed his body with cigar burns
The one who ripped his chest with a dagger
He spent three months in rehab
Yeap, that one
He survived the physical death and the actual death
Saved twice
Yesterday as I sat there and watched him talk about his journey with gratitude
....It all felt like a dream
A very long dream that began four month ago
I remember crying, escaping, believing, not believing, expectation test
But one thing that remained afloat/contact
The life jacket said
Jesus @ work.

Dad, here is the question.
Do you remember Micah?
His mother cursed him and tried to reverse it by offering You silver
Then came along a Levite
The man predicted it will be well with him
..
Dad, I did read the other chapter you know,
It does not end well with him

It does not sit well with my mind
That I could reckon with a man who raised an image
against You
and said it shall be well with him.

I think it is very wrong to think You will come anywhere near with an idol in between

The levite and the coins and the ephod were snatched away by the tribe of Dan.

I think after all it went well with his soul
But not as he predicted.

But Dad,
What do you think?
of Micah and Wonder and the House of Membley

The Good Samaritan

THE GOOD SAMARITAN

He went out from Jerusalem and as he went his way
Some thieves came by and beat him and left him there to stay.
The priest saw his condition, walked on the other side;
The Levite, too, passed by him, too caught up in his pride.
But then a good Samaritan stopped and looked at his case,
Realized the need he had there as he saw the disgrace.
He took the time to treat him with oil and with the wine
And took him to the city to some lodging there to find.
He gave the keeper money so that the man could stay
And said he’d pay the difference when he came back that way.
Like that man, once I wandered from Christ and went astray,
And Satan, the great robber, stole all my life away.
The rituals of the priesthood and ceremonial flair
Could not bring me salvation, though oft I traveled there.
And legalism’s standards, though you are right and true
Did nothing for my sinning nor helped me better do.
But then there came a Saviour, Christ saw what I was in
And took the time to help me and cleansed me from my sin.
He took me to a refuge where I could be cared for,
And said I was forgiven, and did so much, much more.
Now how can I best thank Him for what He did for me?
I can go and do likewise, a need to clearly see.
A one-on-one assistance to someone in distress,
Whatever way I’m able to do my very best.
For since Christ showed compassion on me when I was bruised,
I’ll do whate’er I can do, by Him I will be used.
Whatever task He gives me, though small in eyes of men,
Will not be if I do it as a good Samaritan.

If People Have a Car Accident

If People have a car accident
they can spend months in hospital
needing wages they depend on employers
yet companies can only afford so much

Society could do better
I'm don't like unemployment
where healthy people sit doing nothing
that is a waste of assets a waste of people

yet when people are injured in accidents
they should be able to get invalid benefits
until they are healed but then if they are crippled
and can't go back to their previous employment

We could train them for employment
Where they can survive and thrive
remember Stephen Hawkins
what an incredible man

Facing an illness that would have devastated
any other man he went on to become
a leader in his scientific field
because that is the path he chose to follow

The bible says in the parable of a good samaritan
"It is about a traveller who is stripped of clothing, beaten, and left half dead alongside the road. First a priest and then a Levite comes by, but both avoid the man. Finally, a Samaritan happens upon the traveller. Samaritans and Jews despised each other, but the Samaritan helps the injured man"

Your neighbor is the man
that takes care of your wounds
pays for your stay at an Inn
takes care of you as a person

Our Car accidents and disabled
are the people that need help
without the ability to work
and hold down a job they need support

but support should only be tempory
retraining to become independent
should be the ultimate goal
granted sometimes we can't

sometimes we can't fix a problem
sometimes an invalid
will never be able to get back into work
sometimes our society needs invalid benefits

yet having healthy people sitting on benefits
for their entire life is no good for them
and no good for society
it is an undeveloped human resource

They are assets that could be used
educated and encouraged
to become the builder's, electricians
and mechanics in the war on climate change
