Best Jilted Poems
from rushing waters steal
invading fishes' spritely steel,
twixt heathery beetle's scar
and fluttery, flapping jar
the sentry hill now set
drags ferment's peace to fret,
while in the brave snail's eye
comes forth a baneful cry
from moorhen's craven beak
warm blood the bird to seek,
erect reminders, failing snow
disappear in morning's glow,
and from the corncrakes ring
shouts forth the jilted spring

Got dumped, his first
His love, cursed...ouch!
Her thirst, unquenched

So don’t let those other guys get you down
How could we not beat the hippie and witch?
She’s a criminal; he’s a goofy clown
But we can’t beat the Donald, here’s the sitch:
Standing at the altar, first five, now three
Awaiting the voters to be their groom
Casting anxious looks toward the entry
But with a s-Trump-et, the groom left the room
This can’t be happening? How could it be?
The “Real Republicans” and their backers
Misread the writing on the wall, you see.
Only role now is Donald attackers.
Sometimes the choice is good; this year it isn’t:
It's psychopathy versus narcissism!

Dear Phillip,
You took my heart,
Threw it out on the floor,
And them jumped up and down on it…
In track shoes, no less.
At least, that’s what it felt like at the time.
You are shower scum.
No, pond scum – that’s much, much worse.
If I think of something worse later,
I’ll just scratch that out and add something else.
And to think I wanted to bear your children.
Oh, wait, No, maybe that was Rodney.
Well, nevermind,
Anyway…now, where was I?
Where IS that bottle of wine when I need it?
Oh, there it is.
Oh, uh…you made me cry, you know,
Not just a little, but those great heaving sobs
That make your eyes look like two red fried eggs the next day.
Not a pretty sight.
Anyway, I hope you’re happy,
But not really.
Actually I hope you end up with some old gal
Who runs around on you and gives you the clap.
Yes, that would be good…
And that would make having known you finally worthwhile
Because I would, after all, get the last laugh.
Oh, well, I feel better now.
I’ll just have a couple more glasses of wine
And I’ll be completely over you, jerkoff!
Now, where is that black book?
Ring, ring.
“Oh Hello,
is Rodney there?”

I knew a girl named ______
I saw her every day
I told her that I loved her
and now she runs away
I guess I didn’t love her
we won’t be getting hitched
for how could I have been in love
with such a silly _______?

Time had preserved for me the truth
Enveloped it and put it next to the booth
Nervous as the letter was titled 'BITTER TRUTH'
Anniversaries were never the same
They jeered at my emotions and jilted my sincere love
Why then did you accept it earlier ?
What did you want me to have... A harrier?
Or was it because I had a rough path for my career?
When was I supposed to know I won't marry her?
Wasn't your mother a peasant farmer, Maria?

Absolute happiest hive was wuzzing and buzzing
The cousins are coming whispered our queen bee Luzzing
She rarely gets this excited, knowing her duty to the crown.
We were all polishing her honey combs, sideways without a frown.
The cousins did not come often, being from Nebraska and all.
Last time they were here I had been smitten with my third cousin Gall.
Those huskers are tricksters, the queen bee said to me bursting my glee.
This time Gall arrived with his bride and honey babies numbering three.
I was shocked, for we had seen Gall and his folks just two years ago, right?
I tried to like his new bride, but she buzzed with a mean kind of bite.
Luzzing saw I was unhappy, so she let me fly off to Ioway.
Terrific journey; I met a much more handsome bee along the way.

A better critic
than writer…
Your tongue sharpens,
as your pen hacks
Bastardized on the altar
of cold description
Disavowed by the jilted Muse,

JILTED
He stood there at the altar,
The best man by his side,
Awaiting the arrival
Of his beautiful, blushing bride.
The vicar was getting anxious:
They should have started at four.
The organist extemporised,
Until she appeared at the door.
An usher kept a lookout
For the bridal limousine
But came back in and told them
It was nowhere to be seen
At five o’clock they gave up
And everyone filed from the church,
Leaving the groom to ponder
Why he’d been left in the lurch.
But she hadn’t meant to jilt him,
He found, after making some calls.
For he had been at St. Andrew’s
And she had gone to St’ Paul’s

So much for the lady from Toledo
She had oodles of available dough
She slipped quietly away
One beautiful spring-like day
And, I hear she has another poor beau.

Limerick
If love was just a picture,
Then the frame would be the heart.
Those who waited in faith and patience,
Remained recluse in love.
Love is the little hope that one's wants,
But deserts in times of needs...
Abandoned by true love is the misery of reality,
As only those who went through knows the opium of true love.

A fugitive slice of moon
was preparing to leave.
From nothingness, tiny thoughts
flew out like moths.
I was watching the fall of night.
The wisdom kills nowadays.
Everyday a scandal breaks out.
A child cries endlessly. I might say
for a logic. Her mother had hanged
herself from a ceiling fan.
A celebrity enters the fluid world of pain
talks to the visionary goddess. Impatience
was coming to be. Grabs the wounds,
does not talk, prepares for the funeral
of human spirit and walks away with hawthorn.

I give you your first flower
Before all your lovers
send them by the hour.
Receive my flower.
Soft and brittle
But how mighty its power!
Let it move in you
when times and sweet, and when sour.
I picked it from my lover.
So here's your first flower.

Black umbrella full of blue rain
Disenchanted fella jilted Bella
Red heavy hearts full of pink pain
Not going to be together no forever
Is it better to have Lily loved and lost
To feel like a flower basking in the sun
Only to to have your everything tossed
Reduced dismissed back to lonely one
It is if you are a reminiscing romantic
Who can keep a warm fire of hazel hope
Could destiny design in time such fancy
Wounds in your heart to grow gold soul
Like burgundy butterfly before it has wing
And brown bird in sky before it can truly sing
Do you trust the process the making of dream
Follow your path, believe it, work for it, esteem
If you find that life deals you another hand
Play your cards and win at rouge romance
It’s like a conversation before a daisy dance
Enjoy anticipation go with God another chance
