Fickle
Fickle so fickle this life is at times,
You can't press fast forward nor rewind,
There are so many things to entertain the mind,
You seldom have time to relax or unwind,
Before the ticking clock sounds its chimes,
Fickle just fickle so fickle I say,
Going and coming, Coming and going,
Shifting with the wind are the sands of time,
Ever waxing, then waning, like the moon is it's mind,
Like grains of wasted salt there it lies on the floor,
So spread apart it can shift to any door,
Decisions, decisions, what will it choose,
Will it let me win today? Or today shall I lose?
On pins and needles does my plum bottom sit,
Should I wait for the outcome or in a jiff should I split?
No matter which I choose the fact still remains,
That this life is fickle and can drive you insane,
Can't keep your schedule or good time by it ,
So if your heart or mind has a good notion you may as well try it,
Cause life is fickle as fickle as ever.

~!! An Identity: All of Me !!~
*~~*~~~*~~~*~~**~~*~~~*
"Here, I'm talking
All of Me
My name, tale & speciality
not about Thee!
I'm now flowing
with the calm stream of Time
let's come to share my Jiff
let's come to share my Rhyme.
You can't judge Me
through the spectacles of penetrable presence
My inner thought is a little bit different
from the physical appearance.
During past jobs -
I served for Orphans
I too felt glad
to strengthened destitute Women.
I felt their real Pain
in the absence of Identity
I worked to eradicate
their unquenchable thirst, hunger & Poverty.
I am exploring different ways
to intermingle them with mainstream of Society
So they could become self-sufficient
and not be the mere part of Pity.
Introspection of my actions
are my Reality
I will continue it till my last breath
is my Identity.
Let's sow the seed of Affinity
to preserve Global Humanity
Else, we will be late
to bear Indemnity!"____Durgesh Verma

Hiding in the trench in the French sand,
Indian Singh fights like a British soldier.
It seems it is the ending of the universe.
Dark curls of smoke rise up - cradles are
shattered, and buildings collapsed. Roar
of the war planes gobble all the shrieks
by the mothers and their mothers in a jiff.
Wounds play a sad raga on the strings in
the throats of some fallen military men.
Indian Singh seeks his sweet lady among
the golden corns in a Punjabi wheat field
during the horrible silent interval. A red
salwar kameez flutters in the day dream.
A sudden roar makes him raise his rifle.
Though he is Britain’s adopted son, he
fights for his new mother with true love.
She opens with a smile the creaking gate
to the ecstasy of reunion- soon this smile
is scattered like a phial in an explosion.
She waited for him with the same verve
for years and years in vain, until the earth
worms claimed her wrinkled body one day.
Thousands of memorial stones were erupted
here and there after the First World War, but
not a single stone remains to honor his valor.
(Winner poem on exhibition in Liverpool University, U K. It was also presented on Anzac Day at Auckland Museum,New Zealand. It also appeared in 'Selected Poems Anthology 2014 by Pendle War Poetry, U K)

Very, very naughty I can sometimes be
Turning over a new leaf but I sure need to pee
Be back in a jiff
Well that's really if
I can zip my zipper without snagging my wee tree

NAUGHTINESS AT ITS BEST
I GO UP IN JIFFY FEELING WHEN I SEE YOU
DOING NAUGHTY THINGS LIKE THIS
I REMEMBERED MY DAYS WHEN I DID THE SAME
AND TO SEE YOU DOING THAT
MAKES ME FEEL GREAT
SO KEEP DOING THINGS LIKR THIS TO MAKE ME STIFF
THIS IS HORRIBLE OF A WRITING
TO WRITE IN A TIFF
THOUGH IT IS A PIFF TO WRITE LIKE THIS
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LECTURE
IT MAKES ME BE IN A CLIFF
SO THIS NAUGHT JIFF IS ADMIRED ONE
WE'LL ROAM IN THE WORLD OF NAUGHTY
THINGS TO COME.
AND IT CAN BE FELT WITH A JIFF
IN WHAT I'VE DONE.
AND ONE THING IS FOR SURE ITS GOING
TO BE CLIFF-HANGER AT ITS BEST.
NOTE; I WROTE WHEN I SEE MY GF DO NAUGHTY THINGS AROUND ME,AND I USED TO DO THE SAME.

The palms, the peas, the protea too
Showing up the lilies and iris ever blue.
The gourds and the daisies growing so fine.
Nothing outshines fungi which walks a clear cut line.
Tens of thousands of plant species
Growing more readily with help of feces.
From bulbs or seeds, makes no diff,
Cover the ground in a giant jiff.

Rhyme
By twilight, the west breeze sings a catchy tune,
Pearl's fingers raved by stars and the roved moon.
When you're down, I'll be there to hearten your day,
If you're antsy, I'll yearn to allay your dismay and pray.
I'll shed a tear and ease your pain while we are here,
Vibes are forlornly sad, won't let you wiggle to the rear.
But here we are, wishing to drop into another place,
Let us look at the brain trap's root in clear space.
I was all I'm not in one shot—creative and attractive,
When drawing blusterous is the unique alternative.
I remember having pals, pens, paper, and a dream,
Belonging to what's not lifeless or hollow, as a team.
Live in the present and simply absorb everything in,
Yield all your focus forthwith, or sire another skin.
Don't let your mind stray to what will unfold next,
Don't misuse this chance; rather, yield your best.
We are not always urged to strain any color we see,
But to design hues and become who you aim to be.
Don't allow kismet to lead your rush through today,
Albeit, too many superb times will be thrown away.
For the one, you're with now, at this special time,
Allot them your utter care; be there and sublime.
When ready, put on a vibe and start the journey.
In concrete cracks, roses may bloom; unseat worry,
Our life's doom can be twisted in a jiff second,
Once it is waged, views and deeds are reckoned.
In just a few minutes, you may meet a friend.
Discover love, or watch a story trigger or end.
Eons are all we have, yet are costly and few,
Optional of owning it or squandering it, up to you.
Listen to my heart, look into my eyes, heal my pain,
Kiss me, let's a gambit, and abscond from here again.
Learn to rise and fall. This life is not looking at you,
Be vehement, zealous, and apt to be over your shoe.
I'm caring for you; you are the rhythm of my heart,
Your love plugs into my life, as we've never been apart.

For kids
Nothing beats peanut butter
So says Skippy
So says Jiff
It can nourish
(Ah yes
But it can kill)
With kids can cause a large degree of happiness
Nothing beats peanut butter
Always a jar on the counter
"Simply GREAT for you kids
Sticks to the ribs!" says mom
Can't you see that inevitable smear of jelly just above the lip
While with agile tongue he slathers stuff around a quick-sand mouth
It's on his chin
On his shirt
In the sink
Spoons and knives alive with it
On the floor
On the rug
He's left a brownish-red hand print on the front door
Home from school
It is the one thing he can count on
What?
Empty?
In the cupboard
Quick!
There's more
He's on a chair
On tip of his toes
Well!
Whataya know
COOKIES!

A quintessential graven image
A bunkum to this present age
Destructive and repulsive
Crisps grips with hands sieve
Pismal dismal for this mar, this mar.
Dictative,will never mind your scars
Disgraces all graces with one face.
Defaces characters in different jiff phases.
Addiction is perdition
It disrespects all traditions
Advances by graduation
With granular measurement
It weighs more than a person's sacrament
Adapts easily to evil
Works with covenly devil
Good addiction, am afraid is now rare
Leaving the opposite with posing flair
Addiction is evil
It disallows decisive decision
Brings preclusive deception
Takes you back with no solid description
Disallowing you with grips of concocted confusion
To blend with it's impending conclusions

Blank verse
The waft of petrichor filling nostrils
The drizzle sending a cold chill
Toddlers with paper boats rushing towards puddles
Declaration of holiday makes children chuckle
Office-goers ambling with umbrellas
Octagenarians reminiscing with novellas
Farmers look unto rain as God's gift
Ombrophobians flee in a jiff
Ample RAIN causes GAIN!
Surplus RAIN causes PAIN!

Prose Poetry
I looked without eyes
While I waited just a jiff at maker’s eternity gate
Back in my global village, people meet to mate
And procreate; they wake late looking for a date;
A life without hatches and matches they hate.
But here with the dead, my soul was weighed
By angels in celestial scales; they just sighed!
‘Before here, where were you?’ one flayed;
‘In the garden eating just a fruit,’ I prayed.
‘It was not a just fruit’ I was by archangel busted
‘You lusted for it and harvested hell’ his crusted
Words disgusted me; I kept quiet and adjusted
My thoughts, ‘But Sire, it was ‘cause I trusted
‘One word..’ He closed his eyes and looked.
He closed his lips and the book. I was booked.
I waited and waited. The gate in front was locked.
And I breathed again. Then without eyes I looked.
