Soul Mates Solace

When my final shadows cling on desperately
Where I fight formidable battles
to merely hold the light
I send you loving vibrations
and soul sustenance
Deep from the cathedral
of one heart to another
where today no choirs sing
nor symphonies play
Yet it is here where we meet
in spiritual solace
here to surrender
and exchange inestimable treasures
recollecting memories
like unopened letters
Galaxies are stretched
over chronicles of shared history
Nebula birthing stars
will be exposed
in forth-coming conversations
bringing short-lived fulfilment to you
Hungry to feast
now will be the time
to approve your blood art vision
and with my own haunting surrender
as dappled shades ink stain your chest
I will reside with you and share, mesmerised
pens - by branding
as this will be your written reams to me
your artist's pallet or brushed canvas
no need for words
and yet creating
mysterious magical moments
Bitter-sweet the music
that dances taut guitar strings
but now blood approved
please go kick your heel up
return to your laughter
and ride on the breeze
for not all are lost
change not
for I am with you always
to love, listen and comfort as one
with you in me and I in you
as masterpiece

Premium Member A Spoonful of Snow

Big things in small packages, so goes the phrase
And astounding, a spoonful of snow, in such ways

A thousand frost miracles, and identical, none
Innumerable prisms making rainbows from sun

Each with its detail of wonders, unique
Chilled to perfection to tickle your cheek ...

Spoonfuls, that if balled, are fun to be flung
Pleasurably melted when placed on your tongue

Just enough snow for a friend, I would think
To get their attention, or cool down a drink

Limpid complexities with formations, fine
Chiseled by a physical process, divine ...

Jewels from the heavens as winter clouds weep
The crystalline tears of a season's cold creep

Transparent and clear, and cleaving the light
Yet bundled together, the whitest of white

Like so much we see, they're plain at-a-glance
Yet examined up-close, are sure to entrance

   So ...

Maybe there's a lesson that we can thus learn
To look at each OTHER more closely, in turn

For the inestimable qualities surfaces hide
And the precious complexion of what is INSIDE

By remembering always, wherever we go
The amazement and magic in a spoonful ...

   Of snow.

Premium Member Enjoy the Morning Glory

“Each morning is an invaluable gift- To be alive is a boon, to be able to stay healthy is a bonus, to enjoy love and beauty is bliss”- By Poet

Early morn, I wake up from my sleep,
Sensing on my cheeks, dawn’s first gentle kiss.
As the shroud of gloom is lifted off from earth’s face,
In my heart rises sweet whispers of bliss.

Yesterday’s mistakes, gone like vaporous nothings.
A calming peace gently overpowers my soul.
The air is crisp, quiet and pleasantly still.
The morn opens new scenes and vistas whole.

Flowers gently sway in the passing breeze.
Bees buzz around, not giving rest to tiny wings.
Coloured confetti fall from the Gulmohar tree.
Butterflies flit around as my soul in joy, sings.

Remember, how lucky we are to see another sunrise,
To savour what nature offers as an inestimable prize!

Premium Member A Rose For a Rose

Pink rose, plucked from its garden of sweet earth,
laid fondly on her grave to venerate
a woman of inestimable worth
on this, her day of birth I celebrate -
one rose to join the rose who gave me birth.

[Sicilian Quintain]

A pink rose signifies gratitude, admiration, and appreciation,
commemorating grace, joy, and sweetness -

Reverie To Reality

My eyes rapaciously closing from the rampant onslaught of sleep,
All the while, aromatic thoughts of her tingling my senses grappling for more time within my psyche to feel her breath upon my face.
Open, close, open, please stay open, slipping away, a final physically powerful determinant thought of her as I drift away, oh how beauty dances about her.

Morning arrives with a thunderous sentiment of arousal; throughout the oblivious night she somehow cradled my emotions.
There it is, her outlying presence, my thoughts reach her, tantalizingly embracing her from afar.
In a moment of pure rapture I feel her compassion, it devours my being with carnal desire.
Elation lingers over me, through me, shudders my mere existence with verve from some inestimable force.

I steal thoughts of her throughout the whole of the day, mind dwelling in a vacuum, heart massive with pulsation, soul ever engaging bouts with heaven.
Graciously my day over, with detachment lastly concluding, emotions now keen with fervor and fortitude.
I allow myself to revel in her exquisiteness, reach for her, take her in, and strip her of the malicious day that may have sought her out.
Embracing her, energy invigorated, ardor consuming, I take the splendor that I behold, reach deep into her essence and release my absolute love.

Thinking On Perfection

When will my eyes find haven in ye Lady?
Thy exquisiteness is the discourse of my pleasure.
I wonder about all of your manners inestimable,
And leave aside all the common earth's treasures.
With breasts so full, my heart doth sigh
A face made radiant as the pole star.
Hair black as chimney sweeper's soot,
Her skin milky white like ivory bar.
Thy body sculpted by some angelic hand,
Hips curving as a nymph's seashell.
Thighs slender as caroling lovebirds,
Feet lingering idle by my wishing well.
Shall we meet once in lover's dance?
A choice less night, left not to chance.

Premium Member Fond Farewell, a Tribute To Our Fallen Heroes

When our flag is torn and burned I yearn
For an America I once knew.
When our patriots fall I hear the call
Of cold blood red, white and blue.

And hearing the talk from those that mock
The beauty of our beliefs,
I’m reminded that freedom’s price
Isn’t always pure, sweet peace.

As the eagle dares in places where
Some will never see;
Higher ground where love is found
America aims to be.

God bless all those who gave their all
That others might remain,
In liberty’s light through day and night
They did not go down in vain.

Sail on, sail on,
Sail onward homeward bound…
Making this world a better place,
True freedom you have found.

Though human thoughts and words cannot
Apprehend all your good treasures,
Laying down your life for friends
Goes beyond all human measure.

Sail on, sail on,
Sail onward homeward bound…
God bless you all who gave your all
That we living might sleep sound.

All you noble warriors
And lovers of democratic dreams:
Salutations, admiration,
Laurels of inestimable esteem.

From now on through eternity
To thrones of noble realms;
We give thanks for all your selflessness
And bid you fond farewell.

A Vessel Unto Honour

I was once a beautiful vessel
Brimming with wine at the king's table
Uniquely made
A vessel of inestimable value
Admired by the guest who eat from the king's table

One day the king found another vessel
I was no where to be found around the king's table
The king's guest forgot i ever existed
I was thrown out
The ash heap adopted me
The rodents found in me a place to dwell

But time gave me a second chance
The potter found me
He washed me clean
I've found a new place to stay
I dwell amongst the potter's vessels
The potter knows my colour
shape and purpose

I'm far from perfection
Though perfectly imperfect
He has displayed me for all to see
The ash heap which thought i was ruined
I'm elevated
High on the potter's shelf
And once again
I,m a beautiful vessel unto honour

Conversation God Had With Judas

I. Warning Note

Your heart, I have seen
Your sorrowful heart

He would outwit them
As always, He’d done
Master has power, inestimable
He can’t be o’erpowered
So, good trade this’ll be
These were your thoughts
Yes, so right you were.
They won’t keep Him back
No, death and grave can’t
This, he told you

Your heart, I see
Your sorrowful heart

To repent,
To hope
Let it lead you
How did you learn?
All your failings, He forgave
Even this, will pass

Go not that way
The way of death
It’s the Serpent calling

II. Suicide Letter

Haunt me no more
Let me, rest take
Let me, this way go
Lest I be vexed to death
With the torment of shame
The sting of reproach
The curse of requital
Nay, the judgment
That of condemnation

Haunt me no more
Death must receive me
Now, it must receive me

III. Rejoinder in Death

O son of perdition,
Son of rebellion
How I longed
To, from your ways, turn you
Calling and calling
Lucifer filled your heart
Him you gave a foot
A foot and a hold
And now, your foot
In his hold
Will forever be

Premium Member Poems, My Mirrors

"Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry."

— Mary Oliver

double acrostic

Poetry shakes me, wakes me up.
Other poets open my mind to
Endless layers of reality and enable
Me to thrive in this special realm.
Sharing through poetry helps
Me know myself and others better. When I’m
Yearning to describe honestly my
Mindsets, whether stormy or calm,
I find that reading poetry provides stimuli,
Readies me for each expressive endeavor,
Reminding me that poetry is like a mirror,
Offering the reflection of one who
Realizes words possess inestimable power
Such potential for enhancing our lives!

The Masked Man's Quest

Through the glistening sunshine, he rode, the masked man,
His face dissembled, but held high in pride.
No one would dare ask what his name or history was,
Neither did someone know what beneath the mask, lied.
For what they knew he was the greatest warrior of the king,
Presumed humility and kindness to the people,
A true fighter in defending the truth,
Instances to prove his courage were inestimable.

He got down aside a patch of plenteous roses to pluck one,
The one which appeared special, with a fragrance to invigorate,
As he was on a quest, to find his soul mate.
This town he was going to was the last in the kingdom, Rubek.
Though the maidens in the kingdom were beautiful, no doubt.
His search in the previous towns had went in vein.
Though he was honored and renowned,
Scared of how his face might be they did refrain.

While he was on his way, Rubek had got the news
Maidens gathered-“What if he looks like a devil’s son.”
“His face would’ve been burnt, scraped during war.”
“I can’t marry him”, they cried in unison.
The masked man arrived, stopped right in front of them,
But when he asked for marriage they all had their heads bent low.
He discerned their answer for silence prolonged,
Sadness concealed under his mask, he rose to go.

Then one of them came forth from the crowd,
Observing her beauty and grace for a second he froze,
She said-“I’d consider myself fortunate to have a companion like you.”
Within no time he knelt, gave her the rose,
And then he threw up his mask for all to see.
Some maidens fainted, others cried in distress,
The masked man turned out to be the charming prince
Who took her hand and declared, “She will be my princess.”

I Know Who You Are

I KNOW WHO YOU ARE
You are the morning
Virgin ripe like the full bunch Benin banana
Crystal clear like the revered coastal river
Bright and bold as the Bantu warriors
Resplendent with the radiance of the sun
at first peep from the ozone horizon
you are the one
who shines out my darkness
you the one who turns up
and I am lit me up all inside out

I know who you are
You are the high noon
Drying up my tears
Charging me up with effervescent energies
Scorching drying all my foes

I know who you are
You are the evening
Descending gently
You come and cool your way into my wary soul
Your call forth dance drama
With evening showers
You cll forth the moon
To hold out the impending darkness
You seduce the stars
To shine my soul to glory
And inspire my mind to creativity

You are the night
You prepare me ready
Lulling me with gentle breeze
To a sleep of sweet dreams

I know who you are
You are my most precious gift
My jewel of value inestimable
You are the love of my life
My inner wheel of strength
The clue to the puzzle of my life
You are my complement

I know who you are
You are the bird of flight
That gives me wings and fly on high
You make me cover mileage in minutes
You give me wide lead among my equals

I know who you are, Olubunkola
You are mine
The human angel
You are my God-sent
My very best next person after me

Daughter

A providential miracle,
she captivated me
from birth.
She embodied
an innocence and
wholesome purity
of such sublime quality
that I instantly knew
only God could create
such an extraordinary wonder.

I felt like a child
with his first pet
when I saw her
and I was drawn to her
like a magnet of love
that bonded and sealed
human life.

I was compelled to
cuddle this creative
miracle and marvel at
God’s handicraft.
From that moment on
she would forever be
the special entity
I called “precious pet.”

When her sister arrived
I was beside myself
with pride.
Immersed in gratitude
and drenched in joy
I could hardly fathom
my good fortune..
Sweet as sugar
and cuddly like a bear,
she possessed a sparkle and
spirit that defined fun
and spelled felicity.
From that very instant
she would forever be
my precious –
little “Sugar-bear.”

Like a trophy case
with twin Oscars
these sibling darlings
would grow in to my
proudest accomplishment.
They were and remain
inestimable female prizes
that would make any dad
beam with pride
and proudly proclaim -
“that’s my daughter!”

Love Is

LOVE IS......
Love is the greatest of all virtue;
is greater than anything you know is great,
bigger than better than biggest best,
richer than any natural resources,
deeper than the deepest of all oceans,
higher than mount Everest.

love is everything and equal to anything,
for nothing is stronger than it,
is the greatest force.
love is the character of divinity express in humanity;
emotion can create friendship but through love relationship can be establish,
love is the weapon of the strong.

love is all; it abilities are in-comprehensive and incalculable,
it boundaries are unlimited,
it potential 'are' inestimable,
many water cannot quench love neither can the flood drown it.
love is like a candle light which shines through the darkest
of night with bluest flame piecing through the thickest of moments
ready to accept everyone unconditionally.

love endures in patient, kindness and compassion,
is never nor ever will boils over with jealousy,
is not selfish/self seeking,
it does not keep record of ill,
neither is waiting for apology for fault committed,
it doesn't strut,
it doesn't celebrate injustice.

love is strong;
its hope are fade-less under all circumstance,
is joyful and confident toward all equally
without any negative expectation,
extravagant are its wishes,
I owe a debt to you, do you?
love is the medicine our world need today.

Premium Member Black History Month

February brings the return of Black History month
Black history is real history every day of the week,
So, I react with an “it’s a long coming” harumph!

Important roles of Blacks have been a hide and seek
It’s a cryin’ shame we must now denote “special” days
For Black history is “real” history every day of the week.

Learning important roles of Blacks will always amaze
Every day in American history, Black people excelled,
It’s a cryin’ shame we must now denote special days.

In school, Black achievements were routinely quelled
We were not taught their innumerable accomplishments,
Every day in American history, Black people excelled.

Black people are long overdue for acknowledgments
For their inestimable, incredible contributions to our lives,
We were not taught their invaluable accomplishments.

All lives matter in the grand scheme of history’s archives
Every day we must honor people of all races and creeds
For their inestimable, incredible contributions to our lives.
