Best Grow Over Poems
The choices we make in love can surprise
Because it sees not with the eyes
It looks within the tender heart
As its healing power it imparts
Love sometimes comes at first sight
And give the soul great delight
It can even grow over time
For reasons with or without rhyme
Love can travel over seas
And catch the whisper of the breeze
Love can drizzle just like rain
It can come and go again
Love can fall like gentle snow
And soothe the soul in summer's glow
Love can blossom in the spring
In its fragrance the heart will sing
Love is what will see us through
Through thick and thin it's there with you
And when you find a love that's true
You'll be glad to say "I do"
Love can do all this and more
For this ailment there's no cure
Love can even blow your mind
And it does all this, while being "blind"

If guns don’t kill people
Why are so many people dead
Another moms child
shot in the head
Blackboards white chalk
splattered in Red
A teacher killed
For something she said
Victim after victim
Demons need to be fed
On violence they’ve been bred
We shouldn’t need
Metal detectors at School
A place of innocence has become cruel
What happened to the Golden Rule
Have we all taken on
the role of a fool
A gun isn’t just a harmless tool
It’s a weapon of mass destruction
and the most potent hate fuel.
I am scared by the NRA narrative
The power and control amendment imperative
Off to Washington lobbyist slobs
More and more gun factory jobs
Guns don’t lead to the collaborative
Weapons should not be the normative.
We have got in the habit of not looking up above
No gun has ever led to acts of love.
So until politicians become brave
Our society is a slave
Problems grow over time
We shouldn’t be so naive
Profiteers shouldn’t determine what we believe
In the end there are to many lives to grieve.
Plant a seed of hope, courage,
strength, patience and love
Dig a big hole in the garden of your thoughts
Cover well with soil of fertility
My garden philosophy is
to make the garden simple, practical,
nice, lush and beautiful
in collaboration with nature
A garden that will grow over time
Water it from the source of satisfaction
I choose to have several types of flowers
Marguerites, Lobelia, Scabious,
Rosemary, Foxgloves, Petunia and Chives
The best flowers for bumblebees
plants rich in pollen and nectar
When you focus on the possibilities,
you will only get even more opportunities
In return you will get unprecedented
amounts of happiness and peace
Some of the most annoying I know
are the days when daydreaming
constantly being interrupted
while I climb my ladder
... one step at a time
My garden is my temple

Oh Lord please tell me what Isaiah meant
That “the wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;
the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus?”
I look out at the full moon in the morning atop an unfinished Cube Smart
Storage facility, the I-76 highway buzzes in the foreground. The rolling hills of empty tree tops
just barely hiding the myriad of man made shapes beneath
I cant stop looking at the moon, the sunrise at my back out of sight
behind this worthless building
but painting all the clouds around the moon with a gray-pink.
I tear up thinking of a line that I could never quite get to work in a poem
Give back to Caesar this un-beating heart
And unto you oh God my soul depart.
There's something there but its still kind of corny.
Too forced, too rhythmic.
I get a text from my foreman
“Sorry was on the phone coming up now.”
I see you God in the little moments,
But they don't last very long.
“Draw near O nations, to hear
and give attention O peoples!
Let the earth hear, and all that fills it.
For the Lord is enraged against all the nations
And furious against all their host;
He has devoted them to destruction, has given them over to slaughter.
Their slain shall be cast out, and the stench of their corpses shall rise;
The mountains shall flow with their blood.”
A truck passes by using its engine brakes BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAP
“Thorns shall grow over its strongholds, nettles and thistles in its fortresses
It shall be the haunt of jackals an abode for ostriches.”
Ostriches on the highway, I’m into it. I don't really get off on the stench of corpses like Isaiah though.
Why the love of vengeance Lord?
I’d like to think Isaiah an imperfect messenger. But I get the anger over the destruction of nature
Tell me Lord if this world will be destroyed? Will you let our selfishness destroy everything?
It seems like its getting pretty close.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done.
Please Lord protect the Earth and let me be an instrument for You, Eternal Love;
And to help usher in The Kingdom
Amen.
I hate myself.
I hate myself to the extent where I avoid looking in mirrors,
In fear of the ugly monster that's hiding behind it.
The deformed smile that dares to even grow over its face,
Even though it knows it doesnt deserve it.
The lies of happiness that it goads me into believing,
Only to lure me into a trap that I knew waited at the end of the road.
A pit filled with the unbeckoned rage,
That hides behind that disgusting tilt of the lips.
I hate myself so much that I welcome the imperfections that it graces my skin with.
I hope that one day I’ll return home painted in blacks and blues,
That will eventually fade to ugly yellows and greens.
I welcome the copper that overflows on my skin,
Bright like the steel that it told me to draw with.
But no matter how many times it tells me to do it again,
To cover my canvas of imperfect skin with my beautiful artwork of reds and pinks,
The blemishes and extra folds that I desperately tuck away never leave.
I hate myself enough that I weep with joy when it pulls me into a cold embrace,
Fingers ghosting my eyelids and pulling me back,
Blinding me so I can’t see the way it destroys me.
It intrudes and violates my every pore,
Sinking into me and flooding my senses,
Making it hard to breathe in anything but the vile stench of bitter disgust.
All the repulsive and sickening marks and extra space,
Only intersinfy as it deepens.
And so now I don't just hate myself, I hate It too.
When I look in the mirror it doesn't stare back at me like it once did,
Instead it’s vulgar form looms large behind me,
Draping itself over me like an unwanted blanket on a blistering day.
It directs the madness,
Feeding off of my starved need to be rid of it,
That violently clashed with my desperation for it to stay.
Its want for my pain only grew alongside mine,
And I found solace in its hunger.
Just a note to let you know I am taking a break from the soup. I didn't want anyone to worry. I do plan on coming back, I just need to concentrate on other aspects of my life for a while. Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me and helped me grow over the past few years. Sometimes I may have seemed unreceptive but I have learned so much since joining the soup. This is an amazing community and I hold you all dear to my heart. Your friend and fellow poet, Richard.
My heart my world my baby girl
From the first time I held you in my arms and
laid eyes on you, I fell so in love
You are my beautiful baby girl my blessing from above
From your gorgeous brown hair down to the depth of your complexion
You are amazing in everyway mommies bundle of perfection
You are everything I ever wanted in a child, from your bubbly
personality to your beautiful big smile
Your smart, funny just as bright as can be
You are my first born daughter you mean the world to me
So as you progress in life and grow over time I am so very proud
To call you a child of mine.
Sybaritic Character Take the Stage
The sensual sybaritic character of a man or a woman with a scarred heart,
is something that we can say will grow over time and is never visible from the start.
Upon finding that person that makes you smile when they call, sad when they fall,
and make you want to conquer the world and feel ten feet tall,
can and will this person bring this acquired sensuality from a broken hearted man or woman to a stall.
Has it been the only part of me that I've enjoyed and that fit's like a glove,
not reluctantly its the only part of me that allowed me feel,
while for so so long not in love.
If true happiness is the point to work through the fact that life is difficult and at other times really really hard,
then if so do we seek it out physically, sensually or emotionally for those having been physically, sensually or emotionally scarred.
Maybe one day I will meet this person that feels the same way as I, and upon adopting their feelings I'll drop to my knees and earnestly look to the sky,
and ask that the passionate sensual beast inside me not be washed away,
but as our body's become more and more familiar the beast will no longer have to be held at bay.
If sensuality is a form of expression and perfect happiness is bliss,
than give me that person beautiful inside with eyes like looking into the ocean
and face and lips that I express to kiss.
No one want's to be judged for that part of them that's proved over time passionately and sensually diverse,
but it is true freedom to be loved and embraced for being who you are and no longer seeing it as a curse.

The horror of Covid dead bodies pile up in the grass,
they died alone and now my growing is disturbed;
bury them deep, so I, the grass can grow over them.
When I am done they will be out of sight, forgotten,
but, I pray some will remember and bring flowers;
to lay in my new grown green grass.
I welcome the rabbits, the squirrels, birds and chipmunks;
for they love being in the grass, that I am.
Yes, I am cemetery grass,
and I have a job to do!

Ineffable –
Still, I write these lines
trite.
A scaffold of words
which whence removed
casts only a silence
of long shadows.
To you, the paradigm
of living time,
I write ephemeral
wordless words.
You say nothing
though the wind wafts
words which speak
beyond words to each.
The sound of wind
continues in the stillness
and reaches into
the logos which
spells the visitors
deeper than these.
You speak centuries –
the entire time
of our adolescence –
when you’ve watched
as we wrestle with
the worst of nature.
You were made for fire
and your cambium grows
thick bark and fibers
over the scars.
Does too our tissue
grow over scars?
Wars, devastations?
Will these as well clear
the understory?
But you don’t create fire
you endure it.
Is that the difference?
This is your nature,
share and compare us ours.
We see your exposed rings
and the markers
telling us which ring
belongs to Christ
and the Inquisition.
I see my ring
but not the current
as only the living
scribe those rings
and they are being written.
Poetry overcomes time
and endows the ephemeral
with permanence.
Your permanence
is presence and in
this silence of time
the visitors sense
then understand –
they’ve come not to see you
but themselves.
He doesn't see , no he doesn't see
The love I thought we had
Within years of kissing nights
Those Casino Lights walk last
Through January till September
For years to come with me.
He doesn't get it, no he doesn't get it
That a kiss is more then a kiss
A I love you last longer then a moment
But time has memories he doesn't see
He doesn't see, no he doesn't see
My tears still fall after this year
Three years of love, a year of pain
Two girls later, he doesn't see me.
Zero men later all I see is fear.
He doesn't see, no he doesn't see
Me fighting through the fear daily
Changing my cycle.
He doesn't see, he dirt. And I'm a flower
I grow over him. But he no water.
Beyond the sand waves roll toward me
water abundant quickly attacks and retreats
sunset burns its light upon the surface of the water
reflections in a mirror another evening to the slaughter
There is a tree with limbs that lean so proud
a rope swings to a pool of water soft as a cloud
shade invites rest on the cool grass growing
kisses gently from a westerly wind blowing
A puffy white cloud follows another in the sky
brilliant blue sky to long looked upon will make you cry
Run through the tall grass along the banks
Fly through the sand scare the fish ranks
With any luck at all I will wait on the dock
time begins when you get there simple walk
Pines grow over our cabin there giving reprieve
And I'll be there like Cloud King if you believe
Although it feels I'm far just know I'm near
Physically absent, my dear
But always in your heart, I need you to know I'm here
Torn from my baby boy at 18 months
Leaving you to survive such unthinkable taunts
I've watched you grow over the years and I must say I'm incredibly proud of the man you've become
I know at times my memorial stories are as unhealed scars but when you hang your head low baby look to the stars
For I am your Guardian angel...you are a conquer I'll see you through the pain and the awes
My baby, my son, my one and only prized possession I'm sorry you were Robbed of my love and affection
But your father did awesome as my life ended yours however just begun
Don't be sad my love, don't allow heaviness to grip your heart but instead think happy thoughts and know most importantly I'm far but I'm near
Physically absent my dear
But in your heart shall I continue to live
My Eulogy
Life has been so good to me, but like everything else, nothing last forever
My time is up on earth with you
As much as I going to miss you ,I must go
But,before I leave let me say my farewells
Mama,Thank you for always being there for me
Daddy, thank you for always providing for me
I didn’t always show my appreciating while living
but don’t every for a second think that I
Wasn’t appreciative.
John, my only brother who I loved and let got
Away with so much because in my eyes you could
Do no wrong. I watch you grew up from a baby
To the person you are today… As I watch you grow over the
Years I felt proud because you end up turning out to be great.
Shawn you and Liz have been my right hand girls since
The day I met you both and over the years boy,god has watch
Us grew. You both showed me how real friends suppose to act
You two are the only friends who I knew that always
had my back
Timothy, you have brought out the best in me.
You showed me how to love and be free
My smile you brought that out of me
I can really say you were put on earth for me
I’ll miss you and love you in the sky because the type of
Love we shared you always be my guy.
To the rest of my family thank you for being just that,
family
Who has always been by my side…
My farewells are over my body and soul is tried
But before I go I must ask for one last thing
Please no one cry over my name,be happy
That I lived be happy that I’m free
just be Happy because you were bless to even get a chance to know me…
..
Yew were did you go
Cos you were dressed in yellow, and I was feeling mega mellow
So you swept the other way
2sha
we were like bony and clide, on the side
cos we both got mums side
wat can we do
So come and join my lyrical mixture
Make a mix tape
I did not mean to make a move
I am just devilling back and mevilling
Did you have any think to make me go back
See that chick checking me outback she wants to take me to outback
I am choking when spitting these lyrical lyrics
4 the reasons of treason
did I step the chart
my mind tells me to mark
wat the heak I need to russel up
cos I just feel the must
to go any further with out you
cos I am missing missing you
I would trade the 7 galaxies 4u
To Reminisce on the days that I have missed
So can you meet me half way
And take my heart to the outer limits
To the city of light to make my night delight
Take me to the dance floor 4 romance more
Make me feel safe and take me to a place
That I feel safe
By the hour 4 hypnotic trance
I need you
Your eyes are oceans and I still feel your power by the hour
Rush our for the
Christmas flower
I want to take you out to another place
Making you feel safe
Safer than before
Taking me higher
Higher than before
As I have seen before
As the stars grow over me
You close on me
With a shadow of dout, you gave me a chance to see were I am
As I am going to be you knight thought out the night
Cos I am feeling you
I am clocking you
Stopping you tonight
