Cloud King

Beyond the sand waves roll toward me
water abundant quickly attacks and retreats
sunset burns its light upon the surface of the water
reflections in a mirror another evening to the slaughter

There is a tree with limbs that lean so proud
a rope swings to a pool of water soft as a cloud
shade invites rest on the cool grass growing
kisses gently from a westerly wind blowing

A puffy white cloud follows another in the sky
brilliant blue sky to long looked upon will make you cry
Run through the tall grass along the banks
Fly through the sand scare the fish ranks

With any luck at all I will wait on the dock
time begins when you get there simple walk
Pines grow over our cabin there giving reprieve
And I'll be there like Cloud King if you believe
