Best Gripping Poems
As the rain trickles down the cracks of my stained oak casket
And it stains the fabric of my tattered shirt with the crimson paint they placed upon my lips
The shifting of dirt can be heard in my worm infested ears
As the skin on my thighs is being eaten away from the wood beatles
My spirit hovers above this nightmarish scene
Broken tombstone and twisted roses cover my name
Once spoken from your tongue, now just a whisper in the wind
Can you even remember the words that dripped from my trauma fueled pens
Or have they turned to ash like my sins that were thrown into the pyre
Choking on putrid soot as you lowered haphazard memories into the barren ground
Darkness can be so blinding, don't you see now
All those insomniac nights and breathless days
Gripped by panic attacks and mind numbing depression
I screamed, pleaded, wept for longing
Just to be understood, as I got on my cracking knees
Praying with bloodshot eyes for an ounce of peace
I can't breathe, lungs swelling, tears cascading likes waterfalls down my sunken face
But you refused to see the girl breaking inside this woman, invisible scars ripping open
A spiritual bloodletting
Now the final chapter can not be undone as the bell no longer tolls for a lost soul among the deaf.

GRIPPING ROOTS © TANKA
Birds chirp spring’s sunshine
Rain showers the ground outdoors
Plants begin to grow
Gripping roots draw nourishment
Mother Nature's weathered gifts!
Coats Of Snow © Tanka
Pure white coats stockpile
And cold shouts a freeze
Daylights sunshine glare
Early moonbeam blights a kissing
And dance the night time sky!
THE GOD PHOENIX RISES! © Tanka
In Arabian ash
Half a centuries' time
Beauteous ‘Phoenix’ ashes lay
For five hundred years
Ageing in Arabian soil
Will rise awake sentence-free!
In this cage there's no room
Dark all around like a cocoon
I wish to break free soon
Fly up up and away so high I can reach the moon
But somehow my agility
And overall ability
For unlimited mobility is affected
My freedom so highly disrespected
My limbs gripped by the chains
So tight I can't feel the blood rush to my brain
The pain
Leaves me in disdain
I pounce on these bars my skin covered in stains
The scratching of my claws
And paws
Echo
The chains won't let go
Hunter to hunted
Predator to prey
Locked up and threw away the key, I'm blocked from every way
Can't maul
Can't growl
Chewed bones in a pile
My future looks vile
It's a feast
Swallow them whole now they live in the belly of the beast
The scars from the whips are the mark of the beast
Too bad they overlooked my healing factor like Wolverine
My head is chopped off like I met the guillotine
I wish i could cause mayhem
Carnage
Anarchy
The damage is so chaotic
The sounds of the screams
So melodic
Hitting the cage of life with forceful tackles
I'm being held by the shackles
Vigorously
Viciously
The thought of execution keeps up with me
I can go head-to-head with a cobra
Call me mongoose
I am forever caged like a beast
These chains won't let loose
Bulldozer can't make me fall
Neither can a wrecking ball
Lord help me out of this cage
But for what price
You take your pick
We switch places you get the cage
And I get the crucifix...
Everyday, I awake, body as stiff as a
Board, or a slab of concrete.
My kidnapper stabs at me all over, no hiding for me,
So, I limp and gasp at my limitations, and cry.
I cannot recall a time without kidnapper, pain.
I wish often not to awaken again
For this type of restraint cannot be logical
Making me crazy.
Slip, please?
I’m high up on a slider
I can’t get a grip
I’m slipping, but
I manage to hang on.
I don’t know how
I should plummet
But I’m stuck and then I slide
A little and stop
The more I look down
The less fear I have.
I’m looking forward
To the drop. To hitting
The ground. I no longer
Want to try, to climb
To maintain the struggle
Even though the end’s
Unknown, below me.
I let go,
I dangle
I should be in free-fall
But I’m stuck
The torture continues.
I’m high up on a slider
I can’t get a grip…

Too many listen and give in to domestic terrorism/
Home’s a wreck and terror’s risen for our children/
Most don’t inspect many carry on missing radicalism in their own colosseum/
No call to see ‘em no wall we’ll greet ‘em /
I’ll sprawl and take any call to free them from whatever bad man/
From the tales we’re told as kids too tall for our short attention span/
To the guide rails blurred /
As they asked his to crawl when they need to get walking/
You see them down that’s the only way you’re kicking it with kin/
It’s true I’m on a path of a one pony savior gripping it and withering/
All new weathering whether winning or taking a slipping loss never falling/
Re-gripping your loft to grow a new crop for your own sods sawing
I struggle with you
On and off daily
Perplexed
Moment by moment
You cause me grief
Tugging at my heart strings
Wrecking my mind
Battles with my thoughts
Leaving me feeling weak, confused
A nervous wreck
I struggle to free myself
To free my mind, my heart, my soul
To walk away from your tight grip
Squeezing my life out
But still, you hold on to me
Holding on, keeping me bound, trapped
But I will not stop fighting
Fighting to break free
Released from your grip
Released to breath again
Released to new found energy
No more
Anxiety
No more
I am free...
Creeping gripping fear,
Veiled by the sheets of the night,
Phantom stranger lurks by.
Hands folding into grips
Touch so soft
Lips meeting
Secrets unfold
Under a spell to another world
Like floating
With fresh air
Lifting above
a emerald ground
A satin blanket
You wrap around
Deep purple to violet
A wonder of colours
Surround my ground
Heavenly stars
hearts in jars
Free you're fear
the innermost Feelings
express you're heart
Without the dark

In tender times we always live
the boundless mystery
newly-found
Regret returned
and now coloured light...
In this
a child shall hew a tender chain
On moving sands these
gripping views shall strain..
He ripped his hand from her gripping grasp
Upon the reentry of my eyes
She’s taking a drag
On a lowly, loathed fixation
Yet his hypocritical heart hunts for it
But they aren’t conjoined ceaselessly
For my presence is an unbinding force
But if you love her
Tell her
And hold her
Don’t let my existence
Rot your heart and your hands
My loss led me to confront
the consequences of my reckless emotions.
For you are still clutching to my heart,
stabbing into my soul like that of a dagger.
Please let me go
and live out my destiny...
...Our foretold fate.
Into my heart
Plunged the hand of fate
Suppressing each beat
With strength and control
Now, if it beats,
It is the hand that permits
Allowing momentary flow
Total control of my being.
With short breaths
I seek to regain control
For naught, the heart is hers
Her hand holds me, yet thrills
I’m fated to love.

Have a blessed birthday, Cherry,
The talk tells a gripping content;
The speech starts with a history
Of poetry in brief statement.
