Premium Member Inner Sanctum

Written: January 27, 2024
               ________________________________________

"Remember, the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you. Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open? Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking".

Oh, a flimsy state over grief, issues, and dualism.
How do I find the inner sanctum of nihilism?
As the guillotine of deceit hangs in plain sight,
How tempting are laziness, ease, and blight?

True divine tandem can occur at a sacred site.
An inner haven as you dwell in glory and light
Yield the path to connecting with the infinite.
In an inner sanctum, calm flows over divine might.

Bewilderment seems sporadic at first glance.
Once you've linked culprits, anguish may trance.
I succumb when the climate renders them unwell.
Cluttered mounds of breadcrumbs lead to a swell.

Ascending free from ominous pits of dread,
Seeking trust across awareness lies ahead.
Sensing the heavenly spark that will soothe,
Illuminating the path leading to the truth.

Stillness enhances your perception of taste.
Find the light; the climate seems to be quaint.
How subtly do things reverse disastrous?
I often fall into that abyss, myself in vastness.

The stain of low scorn darkens in midst of trust.
I stroll into the dismal clay of scarlet excess dust.
The ruthless grasp buried inside suffocates life.
In empathy, I endure the agonizing pains of strife.

Invest oneself in each mission and excursion.
These wonderful events allow for sensations.
Mercury is in and out of phase, as is the moon.
Be mindful of your tongue. The lips are strewn.

Flawed sensory acumen of a stray mind,
uncovers a spiritual path within a gild divined.
The inner sanctum door unlocks at that sight.
While the tulip blossoms with glorious light.

The soul sparkles with astral splendor and sequins.
In a hallowed realm, where rays serve as beacons
In my self-searching dedication toward eternity.
Inward cosmic trends enrich my trust earnestly.

Premium Member O Glorious Autumn

O glorious Autumn of melancholic
Gold -
All abouts the brightly lit
Woodlands
Your wonderful artistry behold!
Tinted bronzes,
Darting between awkward firs
Of sobering Evergreen,
Loiter inside mauve havens
Splashed with palest yellows -
And dappled with many differing
Limes
Throughout this variegated Theme;
A myriad of rustling contentment,
Sweetest contrasting charms,
Complimentary...
Softly whispering leafy hues...
Hushed...most elegantly serene.

Bursting into the swelling copses
And invading between the
Dwindling fields:
Auburn, primrose and lilac views -
Abundant with seasons
Celebrations
That so magnificently infuse!
Glowering in simmering sunset,
And spluttering in misty dawn:
Afire with all the orbs oozing
Revelry,
That upon barkened furniture,
To thus gild - and resplendently
Adorn!

Now is the time
That dry tinkling leaves
Give musical resonance
To a breath exhaled from
A breeze...
Fanning the boughs roaring flames
That each out-stretched branch
does eagerly seize,
Fired from the eternal torch
That immortal Ceridwen tirelessly
Sought;
Whilst I hang upon evocative
Memories
That this arresting moment briefly
Caught.

Blazing with a consummate passion
Ignited from a poets grappling
Thoughts:
The Muses to this joyous splendour
Were summarily summoned
And brought;
But as elusive as the enchanting
Notes
From the intoxicating pipes of
Evasive Pan...
So as elusive the words of the
Unwritten verse
That so evade this singular man.

So burn! You gaily painted colours,
Within abandoned restrain,
Your dizzying carousel
A whirling kaleidoscope
Upon an artists ever changing frame.
Soft ochres and dappled browns
Mixed with vivid orange and crimson
Red...
Applied lavishly from the palette
Of Artemis
Over which the vibrant pastes
Are thinly spread.

A riot of pastel shades
All exploding forth -
With the raging power of a
Supernova
Of an immense, dazzling force!
All hail to the almighty:
From the devout to the Divine...
And all hail to the Grandeur
And Majesty -
Of his awe-inspiring design!

Premium Member When Time Stood Still

When time stood still, it found us two
on higher ground. A wondrous view
lay below, for it was spread
with jasmine blossoms white and red
and bluebells nodding in the breeze
nearby weeping willow trees.
We stood there on that hill -
amazed - when time stood still.

We stood between the day and night,
a radiant light in our sight.
Sun that had begun to slide
beyond our small hill’s western side.
We watched it touch down, saw it gild
all the flowers in the field.
When all the world was good,
on verge of dusk we stood.

When time moved on, it found us then
asleep in our old spot, a glen.
Tired at last, we’d made our way
that moonless night, until we lay
in darkening serenity.
Then awakened, we would see
the whispering of dawn
as precious time moved on. . .

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

From Jaded Green

A harvest breeze invites the leaves
to shimmy on the tree.
In haunting song she sighs and grieves
as on her breath they flee.
They dance and twirl away from her,
sweet fragrance lingers where they were,
they dance and twirl,
they dance and twirl
toward the twilight of the year.

A gentle moonlight bathes the leaves
that lie upon the ground.
Her magic with them interweaves
in midnight’s silent sound.
They turn to gold from jaded green
beneath the moon’s cool waxen sheen,
they turn to gold,
they turn to gold,
and gild a graceful autumn scene.

A winter wind disturbs the leaves
as they so soundly sleep.
The tree’s loss, so the wind believes,
gives him the right to reap.
He whips them up and whispers low
that all the golden leaves must go,
he whips them up,
he whips them up
to clear the way for soft white snow.

Premium Member It Happened On a Rainy Night

Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnights dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover’s Park

The fluid rhythms, realm of rain
Where lamplight’s stream did gild the lane
Wet leaves dripped dreams from tinseled trees
And pulses flowed like rolling seas

Premium Member Brushes Of Fire

The dog days of summer bring humid air,
that morphs into dewdrops, as the night cools.
And summer outfits aren't seen anywhere
now that the kids have returned to their schools;
abandoning their sandcastles and pools.

The leaves are slowly being drained of green,
changing colors as they prepare to die.
And cottages no longer need a screen;
for when the Fall sun sits low in the sky:
there's no mosquitoes, not even a fly.

Autumn paints the leaves with brushes of fire,
while moonbeams gild cerise edges in gold.
For Nature is an artist to admire:
with a palette that's both subtle and bold;
Her art is a masterpiece to behold.

Exhaling a breath of air, crisp and cool,
with a sweet, spicy scent that defines Fall;
Autumn pulls a thread from Memory's spool.
It is time for Jack Frost's first icy scrawl,
to welcome Winter in Her snow-white shawl.
Brisk breezes rattle bare branches and twigs,
while a forest of skeletons quivers.
A squirrel stashes nuts in holes it digs:
fearing the snow that Winter delivers;
for it's enough to give it the shivers.

'Neath The Palms

For so long, I wondered my life ‘neath the palms
A tropical climax to gild golden years
Each breeze would embellish my thoughts in the sun
I never imagined a context of tears

Though beauty surrounds me in floral bouquet
In hues that are married to sunset and wine
I can’t help but ponder the path I have taken
When leaving behind everything that was mine

The memories are haunting as life lies before me
Still promising sunshine and skies always blue
But nowhere do catalogs count what is missing
Not even the sunrise through palm trees will do

Well, yes I could pack up and sail away homesick
And try and go back to the life that I knew
I guess I am living just what I was promised
I’m certainly having a day that is blue

Every now and again, that old homesick bug bites!

Premium Member Changing Sky

My weeping eyes behold the changing sky
O'erspread with clouds of grey where once was blue
With gaze upturned, I heave a burdened sigh
At all the world now changed to leaden hue
Yet still they onward, ever onward fly
And more appear to change the sky anew
And now, as troubled hearts their sorrows spill
These maudlin clouds the heavy rain distill

The sun obscured in shame, he hides his face
And lightning lights instead the cheerless gloom
While thunder follows swift in furious chase
As if to herald thoughts of coming doom
And still, the rain descends at hurried pace
As if the earth in water to entomb
It seems belike this storm would rage for aye
And all the earth would never chance to dry

But lo! The setting sun that once was veiled!
Draws nigh to show his grandeur forth below
He shines his beams abroad the clouds to gild
And sparks the drops as diamonds all aglow
Mid pools of sapphire blue the sky is filled
With vibrant coloured shades of heaven's bow
What eye could see and not revive its fire?
Nor mind behold and not its thoughts inspire?

Premium Member Shades of Grape

Black edges a turquoise horizon,
inking silhouettes a cobalt blue.
And shining stars, like twinkling candles,
faintly flicker in and out of view.

Color escapes from night’s dark abyss,
as shadows reborn are given shape.
And sunbeams gild the rim of the earth,
distilling reds into shades of grape.

Sound is suspended, all is silent,
a magical time, before birds fly.
Magenta clouds share shades of crimson,
imbued with fire that ignites the sky.

A birthing sun ascends from the east,
its brilliance engulfing all of space.
Daylight reclaims territories lost,
and night vanishes, without a trace.

Premium Member A Rusty Screen

Ethereal rays of light
dilute darkness into grey.
Ebony no longer shrouds night;
only shadows defy day.

A spiderweb casts a hue
of iridescent flashes.
And the morning mist drips dew;
in intermittent splashes.

Dawn splits reality's realm
into scenes rivaling dreams.
Where songbirds sing in the elm,
and sunbeams gild golden streams.

Dragonflies and bumblebees
flex crackled cellophane wings.
And the sun warms every breeze,
smug with the heat that it brings.

Slivers of light pierce my eye;
shining through a rusty screen.
And rustling leaves flutter high
in a canopy of green.

Premium Member Summer Sunset

Summer sunsets o'er majestic Pikes Peak are a wonder to behold.
Unequaled hues gild the western sky in flaming red and gold!
Mere artists will never portray on canvas such a glorious sight.
Magnificent ivory clouds enhance the scene much to my delight!
Embellishing this exquisite panorama with colors all aglow,
Reminds me of the bright hues in paintings by van Gogh!

Soon the sun will sink beyond the towering tors of Pikes Peak.
Ushered in is a mellow moon to make the ebon night less bleak!
Nary a sunset gracing the elegant form of Mount Kilimanjaro,
Shall compare to the painting in the sky that I'll view tomorrow!
Even though famed artists have created masterpieces in the past,
The brush strokes of The Master Artist will never be surpassed!

Premium Member A Game For All Seasons

At first was spring, and everything was quenched of every thirst

Summer came, but soon was gone, it quickly played its game

Autumn, lingers here again, blows in with magic fingers

Gripping trees without a care, and painting brittle leaves

Sending cold to gild our hills with brilliant red and gold

Finding ways to rust the sky with tawny autumn days

We should fry up stacks, of buckwheat cakes, and gather stacks of wood

We'll retire, soon, find warmth, and croon, around the cozy fire

We now rehearse, the winter's curse, and will survive the worst, somehow

Premium Member A Muse On the Loose

A muse on the loose. Oh, where might she go?

Special moments in life that made my heart glow

she visits with sentimentality -

to gild cherished memories of family.

Through scenes of a novel or some picture show -

a muse on the loose. Oh, where might she go?

Moved by great drama or by tragedy,

she sprinkles a flavor of melancholy.

To mountains or flowered fields or to the sea,

she's ready to gather the majesty

of nature around her! From beaches to snow -

a muse on the loose. Oh, where might she go?

From daily events of simplicity

to things unexpected that happen to me,

she gleans inspiration, then the poems flow.

A muse on the loose. Oh, where might she go?

Premium Member Reality's Banned

Cotton candy pinks and marshmallow whites
flaunt iridescent sheens buffed by the sun.
And colored clouds, lined with mother-of-pearl,
hang in the sky like a prize fairly won.

Darkness gathers in tattered strands of grey,
strewn across a sky of indigo blue.
And stars glitter as a dying sun shrinks
to a crimson ball with a scarlet hue.

Ebony fingers scratch at the skyline;
like inky tentacles grasping for light.
And as camouflaged greens morph into black;
silhouetted abstracts merge in the night.

Liquid amber burns atop umber waves,
highlighting their frothy, foamy whitecaps.
And golden beams gild glistening waters;
as cascading breakers crash and collapse.

Playful breezes tickle leaves on the trees;
sending laughter tumbling down to the sand.
And as Sol dies wrapped in a scarlet shroud,
time's suspended and reality's banned.
