Premium Member Sign a Petition To Stop Fgm- Follow Up To My Girl Rising Poem

Dear Soupers, some of you have read my piece on FGM….Female Genital Mutilation for Richard Lamoureux’s Contest: Girl Rising. One of you has suggested signing a petition so that this grievous practice will be stopped. I’m happy to inform you that something IS being done by my church organization in the enditnow campaign. The Women’s Ministries Department of the SDA church along with ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), a non-profit organization, have banded together to get petitions signed to bring about awareness about this awful practice so that steps can be taken to outlaw it in many African countries. You CAN sign and be a part of it. The letter you will be signing is going to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon. Yes...all the way to the TOP! I JUST NOW signed and it is as easy as pie! Please...take a stand.

Here is the link: Please check it out if you want to speak out for those whose voices are not heard.

I know a family that doesn't have much
But their small abode is spotless
You can eat off their floors

'Course that makes them 'classist and racist'
The home in which they take such pride
    ~ a veritable eyesore

Premium Member The Song of Wandering Aengus: ,The Follow Up

IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT
AENGUS COMES HOME
TAKES A COLD SHOWER
BRUSHES HIS TEETH
AND GOES TO BED
ALONE
TO DREAM OF HIS WANT
OF THE FAIRY GIRL
AND HER SILVER AND GOLD
APPLES.

Premium Member Follow Up To Networking Nancy - Bawdy

Nancy’s a nymphomaniac
Who networks when flat on her back
Her motives are shady
And Nan ain’t no lady
She always gets blokes in the sack

Yes, Nancy’s a bit of a lass
Three stock cupboard guys get her ‘pass’
She has hanky-panky
With Tom Dick and Frankie
Guess Nancy is just pure badass

NB Terry suggested in his comment that I wrote about Networking Nancy getting up to mischief in a stockroom - BUT I was already working on the poem ... proof great minds think alike!

Follow Up To Lady In Waiting

The lady lived contentedly
within a castle by the sea
for time unending.
As daily she watched o'er the water,
she and her devoted daughter
household mending.

Her husband yet was lion hearted,
but from her side had not departed,
come what may.
Though others went to war for glory,
he knew too well the age old story;
how women pray.

Soon enough would come in sight
some educated noble knight
his charge to wed.
Till then the husband and proud father
would the sweetest love in-gather,
his soul well fed.

Memorial Day Follow Up

Memorial Day Follow Up

Then there are those who never came back,
As much time flies by and we will loose track;
My age has lengthened and up I have grown,
Still see tomb of soldiers who are unknown.

By other veterans, they loyally would bequeath,
With honor, in front of their tomb place a wreath,
And now each time when it we all do pass by,
Will always remember those who for us did die.

12 Hours Ago, Follow Up From Weds

Today I shined very bright.
I added the fuel to ignite.
I gave it my all and hoped for the best.
I went in and faced the test.

Sitting there waiting, my pits sweating.
The quiet, lifeless room was offsetting.
Time taking so long I might grow thin.
Just waiting for the teacher to say begin.

She speaks and I dig in and give it my best shot.
I might not be the best but a quitter I am not.
Almost five hours later were done, I can barely see.
Minutes go bye, we get our score, could this be?

The teacher nods as she walks down the aisle.
1530 out of 1600, I'm in the 96th percentile!
Above the clouds today is where I flew.
Because today, I achieved a dream come true.

Premium Member A Follow Up

The weather is brutal today, like a roll in the hay
Like rambunctious like, you know, when your mind goes astray
You leave mother earth
Seems like a rebirth
When you recover, as a follow-up we'll see you again!

(maybe 10 minutes)

Cast your net upon the waters
let your words and Visions flow
from breast to breast
Let The Healing Waters begin the flow
you are cured
like in a bird and the blue skies let it soar
 let your words comfort me
that your Deeds
be from your needs
I fell down on my knees
Lord on my knees upon the waters
casting the nets upon the waters
let your words and Visions flow
floating from breast to breast
Let The Healing begin you are cured
life in a bird in the blue sky
its soars let God's words embrace our sons and daughter
let the words float on top of the water
from breath to breast
Lets lift Healing Waters Let The Healing Waters Flow
Go forth and
Let It Go
Let It Go

*Photo I took of the Snow Moon, Super moon. When I upload photos here, and copy them to my page, they end up blurry, but it was beautiful.

                  beautiful snow moon
                a bright satellite for you
               four reaching moonbeams

Tonight, I won’t write anything at all…
I’m throwing in my quill,—who am I fooling?—
I’m throwing in my keyboard, overruling
my instinct for seriousness,—o how small

and earnestly banal…/I mean!, the gall
of an Artiste not sat at home drooling
on their craft and crafting another grueling
chef-d’œuvre,—Bah!—leave that to the alcohol!—

—@-tack your ’s-periment__’n’|defend|
mine own: for the[object]of this{subject}
is Anihilating your nothingness.
Yea! all this—and (, verily,) nothingless.
Avoid a void?,your void—I“[-VOID-]”| perfect
disdain,—no mask upon it to append.
