Best Flood Out Poems
The absence of love plays on my mind,
I search within, but love, I cannot find.
Another wasted day, just frittered away.
Can't bring myself to see, it's all because of me!
Dark clouds are moving in, my soul's screaming out.
There's no place I wish to be, my mind consumed with doubt.
My body's numb, this pain has won,
As I lift my pen to write again,
these words flood out before my eyes.
It's not until then that I realise!
That all my struggles are not my demise,
and all my woes as far as a poet goes,
For now, a smile creeps on my face.
Finally, I have found that loving place.
Oh my gosh darling, your eyes
They shimmer in the darkness, but remain pale in light
How is it possible that they could mask everything
How can you control them to do your bidding...
I wondered why your eyes were so shiny at night
But why, in the morning, the glisten was gone
The shimmer that your tears created
The shimmer that they used to hold
All gone, with the arrival of morning
Never once again could I see the life in them
As if your soul had come out and never returned
Until your night comes and you shrink to the darkness
And in the darkness you are consoled
Worries and fears, flood out with all those tears that you shed
But morning comes again
And your eyes go back to what they once were
Oh my gosh darling, your eyes
They are the barrier to those secrets you hide inside
Why would you not want to show their beauty
Their radiance
Their light
Why would you just shed from them the tears that have fallen
Why would you never have them glisten in the morning
Are those steel gray pupils the key to the inside?
Oh my gosh darling, I wish I could see your eyes.
To the girl with strawberry earrings, cupcake eyelids and a confetti lined body.
You are beautiful,
but not in the way your first lover told you.
Not in the way of demand action.
To the girl with strawberry earrings, you are so beautiful.
More so than skin deep. More so than in your jeans deep.
Worth more than a pile of meat, you are beautiful
So much more than your "thank you" could ever respond to compliments with.
Beautiful girl, at age twelve you will realize your chest was too small and your stomach too large.
Beautiful girl, he called you. His beautiful girl.
When he left you questioned everything.
A living mystery in young adolescence.
Beautiful girl, with a song in her heart and a story in her eyes.
Wake up.
The strawberry meadows of your mind too quickly became jam; jammed with the other voices.
Entering high school like the gates of Hell.
Burning your body with embers of days your criminals long forgot about.
Beautiful girl, whose apple red cheeks were stained with tears.
Beautiful girl, who forgot how to eat out of fear.
Beautiful girl, who did her makeup charismatically.
Who wore her smile like a pendent upon her chest.
Beautiful girl, you knew better than to open the dam of your mind, for you knew oceans could flood out.
That mind of yours, strangling you in the size of your waist in a dressing room.
Suffocating your chest, no, stuffing your chest to create empty and lumpy illusions.
Making you feel as though you always had something to prove.
Beautiful girl, stop, beautiful girl
Not every room is a battlefield.
Not every mirror a warfront.
The grenade of your mind is pinned to your lips, all you have to do is not pull it.
Beautiful girl, you are a fresh April dew.
You are the alluring scent of rose petals.
You are a star-lit night and a beaming sun rise.
To the girl with strawberry earrings, there is no one chasing you anymore.
You are free
You are as free as the birds up above.
You are untamed and wind blown like the formless shifting cotton of the Heavens.
You are unarmed.
No more pistol to your tongue for the imaginary friends of standard.
Beautiful girl, you are beauty.
To the girl with strawberry earrings, to the girl reading this, you are a beautiful girl.
Nights So Love-locked In Your Arms
Nights love-locked into your arms
breathing in all of your charms
A spell cast to set love ablaze
we lost into epic, romantic haze
You gave its greatest gift, bliss
thanking heaven I did not miss
The sweetest ever enduring kiss
in my dreams I often reminisce
Rested within your lover's trust
heart's deepest desire, a must
Songs that sang us both asleep
memories we shall forever keep
Memories flood out this the best
love surviving each and every test!

note: Decided to share here my poem for today, a sonnet,
the one I write every day on paper for my darling wife.
This one being so tame and pg I can do this..
Hope you may enjoy reading this heartfelt write..
She will read this after her 12 hour shift today at the
hospital. I have high hopes she asks me to frame this
one too. The "tames ones" she asks me to frame but
never the very racey, so very deeply intimate ones. lol
She demands those always stay private..
i wish i knew how to cry
then indeed i would do so
i would sit down
break down like in hymn
lyrically, rhythmically wail
let the tears flood out
empty the soul
cool my puffy cheeks
i would cry till lord came back
you ask why, my brother, sister
it is simple
i would cry for the beggar in the dusty streets
hopeless,
homeless,
left to wallow in the whims of desperation
i would cry for the empty stomachs
the hungry wails of starving children
the drooped bare breasts of mother
with no fodder for the toddlers
i would cry for peace, or for lack of it
a country thrown into chaos
a country whose agenda is mismatched
propaganda, ill motives
politics of hatred,
fear left right center
i would cry for armageddon
for salvation of souls
for brother turning against brother
for the desolation of minds
dialects fragmenting souls
blood spill
tears shed
love lost
homes crushed
death...
yes,
i would cry for my country Kenya,
if only i knew how.

‘TURQUOISE-- INTUITIVE PAUSE’
Mixed hues of green and blue- Peace, calm a tranquil view
Retiring from the world at times- a temporary loner paradigm
Refreshing compassion, aquamarine cool—swimming serenity found in the pool
Teal feminine sophistication—intelligent whims of imagination
Open communication between heart and soul—spoken words are seldom whole
An independent and spiritual grounding—Caribbean healing often binding
Tranquillity, beautiful shades of serenity—crucial escape from noise and stupidity
Sequential self-sufficiency necessitated – realms of reality obliterated
Surfing the tides of modern humanity—breakers surging our living profanity
Rushing neglected creative domains—prevailing insanity inescapably remains
Our poise and intuitive shade turquoise—we need to shut down on intolerable noise
Flood out the deluge of untamed insanity—restoring cerulean peace replacing our vanity
I sit and listen with awe as the pianist coaxes
the most wondrous sounds from the beat up piano
his melodies flood out greeted by stunned silence
as people are transported into the visions he plays
The music soars filling the room
deepening and expanding
whispering of unseen things
of valley's, mountains and glens
the notes lead us into the glen
revealing the wondrous sights
of waterfall tinkling in time
to the most seductive beat
One can hear the birds singing
their notes blending so harmoniously
with the pianist's various moods
as he swings into blues and jazz
Yet still he plays on notes ringing out
telling oh so many fabulous stories
the silence of the audience says it all
he has transported us to another plane
Moon Shadows, The Gift Found
Hair so dark and beautiful, image so pure
sexy goddess, enchantment was her allure
Nights of bright, full moon she came to me
between the shadows in the moonlit trees!
Time stood still during love filled nights
each visit, more ravishing were the sights
No thought of tomorrow while in her arms
such the power of her beauty and charms!
Long summer nights gone, she vanished too
Memories served to hold my romantic review
Then a dark hair beauty came to our town
I could swear it was my goddess come down!
We dated, found out she was from far away
could be, my goddess had come down to stay
Full moon nights, sweet the celestial view!
Some angels come down to earth, who knew?
Dreams flood out from times so long ago
Loving memories of her sexy celestial show
Now I watch and cry out to the full moon
Angel will you visit me again, any time soon?

Never sent, words I should have said
Never sent, things about you I missed so much
Never sent, revealing why I need you close
Never sent, regrets I never told you everything
Never sent, thoughts that break me down
Never sent, this world is dark without you around
Never sent letters, my hands just cant handle writing out these words
That my hearts longing to flood out to capture your heart
Never sent, arriving in the night
Never sent, its 3 feet of snow outside
Never sent, your cold alone in your bed
Never sent, throwing up pebbles on your window
Never sent, you often ask yourself why
Never sent, how do you face every single lonely day
Never sent letters, I gotta tell it to your face
So I can read the reaction so true that its gonna pour out of you
Never sent letters
Words only sound sweeter
When I tell it to you
Face to face
Never sent letters
Never sent letters
Never sent letters
Never sent letters
Some say rainbows are the prettiest things,
And I like rainbowed colours that grow,
They grow and they burgeon, absurdly flowering,
Spewing sharp spikes all for show,
Sharp spikes which are bright reflections of peace,
Tranquil with absolute real,
Shapes that flood in and shapes that flood out,
Whenever you spin round the wheel.
There’s red and there’s yellow, bright blue to dark green,
In hexagonal patterned delight,
And each of these colours create in my mind,
Fantastic thoughts that seem to ignite,
Every bit of my deep inner child,
Every bit of my deep that’s extreme,
Every piece of my mind that loves the bright colours,
Like the ones that I see in a dream.
Poke holes in clouds
Hammer the happiness
Rip my curtains
Flood out the angriness
Curse my name
Couple my drunken state
Struggle with luggage claim
Just sit and wait
Manage my mind
Structure my consequences
Take a stand
Nothing but skin senses
Mark me with your matter
Catch the healing
Don’t have to get along
Its what’s you’re concealing
Scan the volunteers
Purvey the waiters
Sweat stains
Line the walls like a dictator
Walls paper-thin
Hear the moaning
Climax induced dream trip
Better safeguard your heart with zoning
Pull threads
Try an unseal me
I’m holding on
Scared you’ll forfeit and agree
He strolls down the boardwalk so reverently. Uncertainty flows through the
civilians minds. He looks them up and down, picking his victims. He plays with
their mind showing them fake substance of his being. He rips at their soul, and
spoon feeds their minds with all his untimely lies. Their all naive, they all don't
see. He's dangerous, he grabs hold of his victims with his claws which are
sharp as ravens, and punctures their heart. I've been there, he's done so to me.
He's took my everything and now there is nothing, I am nothing. He's made me
one of his fake beings, nothing but a dead talking head with no words coming
from my fake mouth.Nothings real.He is now higher than I. He's took my
everything and sucked it inside, he knows all the secrets I attempt to hide. I love
this man, although I can't stand his presence,he makes me sick.
He was all that I ever cared, ever dared to do things that scare the hell out of me.
He scared me so much in his unconscious land, I'd flood out
my heart my conversation he never took part. He's killed me, inside a part of me
is gone. He took it when I let him inside, now secrets I can no longer hide
He's seen it all, he's took it all. I layed in his arms and there were no longer any
harms, that was a lie! That guy was taking my innocence, taking every ounce of
angelic substance in my aching body. Now a black saddened substance flows
through my veins. I was a part of him and he was a part of me. Now I'm scared,
could this be the truth of his raw being? Was he so sad? Was he so bad?
The answer I sware I cannot bare. I know the truth, but have not spoken a word
for fear my killer would take my only identity I have left.
I love you my ruthless killer
Put your pistol to my brain and drive me insane again
Cheap thrill
Fire at will
Do I fit the bill
the limericks can’t be eschewed
my muse seems excessive imbued
they seep through the pores
they flood out in scores
seek nuance to coyly allude
It’s not just a trek through lewd grit
perfection is sought for, to whit
there’s meter to wrangle
inference to dangle
infinitives to boldly split
You stare into the abyss,
And the abyss stares back.
Take a look into my mind,
Through every little crack.
It's dripping from my finger tips,
It's throbbing in my veins.
The wild inside my bones,
Won't stay tied up in your reins.
If I let my poison pour,
Let it gush out of my throat,
I'll flood out your pretty kingdom,
And set myself afloat.

eventually
it all comes out
the ways in which we break up inside
flood out through the eyes &
down the cheeks,
regardless of the loneliness or
whether another might be in the room,
the self-doubt is the same,
the wreckage gets rolled over
again & again,
like some monster truck at a rally
for you & you
alone---
at these times the bleeding inside
is obvious to all
but the possibility of healing
seems so far off
that one can only smash into a 1000
pieces
momentarily &
as an attempt at positive perspective
dukes it out with overwhelming pessimism,
of course, deep deep deep
within,
we all hope that the positive will win out &
another day will bloom,
but we don’t always get what we want.
