Premium Member Sand Promises -POTW

Flip flops and straw hat adorn him, beach wear suits him nicely
Kind is he to her as he scoops into a bucket measuring precisely

Casted are his piteous passions in sunstruck warm sands
Gently shaping and capturing her likeness, she is in skilled hands

Stooping over chin to knee he bares bronze shoulders glimmering
Her features delicate, her hair etched in his mind flowing, shimmering

An energy is sensed as sand and water caress through his fingers
Behold if only Aphrodite answers his prayer, he pauses and lingers

Recollection clears a birth, breath of life be given this inanimate object
A saintly face faintly appears, he’s fallen in love with his imminent project

Sculpting feminine curves slowly surfacing, an hourglass figure shaped
An alluring amazon controls his very soul, an apotheosis angel draped

Belief in a statue which comes to life, vehemently pangs the phenomenon
Alas the last touches fini, fervently he unveils his seaside Pygmalion

And without further ado, emerging from the ivory sand, he prizes
An obsession his idée fixe at the edge of the pier, a sand goddess arises

What Discursive Poetic Theme Shall I Write About

Hmm...What Discursive Poetic Theme Shall I Write About...

Translation of Eric Mottram’s A Faithful Private 5 Homage to Humphrey Jennings by T. Wignesan

                                                             for Elaine Randell

l'exactitude contre l’exactitude
venus d’autres lointaines mers

Secret Revenges

Something is coming in my mind now.
I think about the destruction of Iraq
And some iraqis Innocently
by some arrogant politicians
who could not find
weapons of mass destruction
which they suspected in that country
And they could not think to repair  the lives
And a lot of things destroyed in the wars
Which they created.
The state president was hanged publicly
Because of some lies and jealous of his
few colleagues who hate the development of others

Some iraqis took refuge to where their  problems
came from to heal and prepare future revenges.
they are silently angered like bombs
which are  ready to explode soon.
Now, they have some good positions
in the governments of these countries
waiting for the days to start some bombardments.
As some people don't want to destroy injustice
in the World at this early moment...
Will they stand some attacks from inside
and outside?
Answer is " no
and no."
The more some oppressors continue oppressions,
The more victims infiltrating among them
to hit their heads
seriously.
It will be late to fixe the problems
When some people will start singing ,
the first shall be the  last
and the last shall be the first."
This is not a  prophecy
But It is a reality.

Some big thinkers
Can think of it daily.
It is an open alarm
That sounds loudly.

Premium Member Eric Mottram's the Cat Sat On the Mat Translated By T Wignesan

Translation of Eric Mottram’s The Cat Sat on the Mat, La chatte s’est assise sur la natte by T. Wignesan

(Unless I’m sorely mistaken, this’s EM’s first published poem: Poetry Magazine/Poetry Foundation, Chicago, February 1959, pp. 306-307.)

(Note: * probably an error for “isotope”. )

Idee Fixe

don't even think about it
a bucket of motel ice in the face
proving the thing in itself does not exist
because he registered all the meanings all the time
with a nausea so profound
the retching never ended
rearranging all my proteins
in a hypnotic anarexo-bulemic frenzy
I marched to the beat of crawling flesh
an x-rated dermatologist tattooed Celtic blue
in an idiot ritual purification
couldn't find a long-haired dog for winter
settled for an inferno of intrigue and dissipation
in a tin shack at the edge of an endless swamp
it wasn't serenity that's a rock solid fact
the horse hairs stung across his butt
Mistress Cheetah grabbed the microphone
she had saved him from pointlessness in the past
weaving many paths upon his terrain
in a fairy tale about fairy tales
fear swept the land as a craving for snacks
the ones who get no peace rose in rebellion
ridden by that cancer of abuse
the great canon that we are but animals
the Brahmins and their bullies faced extinction
so they cut a deal to escape the cro magnon hordes
coldly calculating the cost to nations
in a curious mix of apoplexy and daring
trying to duplicate the distortions of time
a grandiose epic on the nature of Nature
and the desert of human intellect
clanked and hummed into bloom
an infectious enthusiasm swept the palisades
curing the sick and raising the dead
bypassing the humiliation of needing to lie
now if that doesn't please your ghost
here's something that will
I'll give you the formula now
in a dance of erupting minutae
if the West is decadently feudal
the East is feudaly decadent
this is my message to Earth
multiply yourself by yourself
and avoid counterfeit soothsayers
like you avoid a broken pin ball flipper
in a sea of hard financial assets
some of the angels are stuffed dolls
and confabulate without knowing it
where everyone is a game piece
tell me what is not measured
like wild geese honking through the night
part of a vast migration of souls
with the moon low and full
in a time of riches and knowing
in a teasing ****** of ignorance
in a power surge that spiked through the wires
the closer to the pillar you stood
the more transparent it all became
end of transmission

YOUR LIP STICK

The Bibliophile

He was known for a puzzling idée fixe
for literature in an array of topics;
Not a citizen of particular themes.
Given to a pursuit of this literary ENTERPRISE,
he would hermit away and ravenously read,
which left him with a pale VISAGE.
He'd dealt with comments of its PERNICIOUS effects,
putting a BLEMISH on his social standing.
Yet, it didn't DAMPEN his spirit.
He didn't shy from upgrading to a learned man.
A mixture of books granted him entrance to
TRAVERSE an ever transforming road,
for which weather had no dampener on.
He was a SENTRY of his own mind,
following the ASTRAL bodies in the night sky,
to channel knowledge into dreams.
