Best Fall Asleep Poems
The desire grows,
the bond strengthens,
to let you hold me in your arms.
closer.
stronger.
oh, how I'd love to fall asleep in your arms,
for they are safe I know,
warm with comfort.
don't move a muscle,
breathing heavy,
wishing time would come to a hault just for us.
never to let a moment slip,
without full appreciation and affection,
of how lucky we are to have found one another,
when not really looking with our eyes,
but letting our hearts lead the way
in the direction they had secretly planned,
without us fully knowing.

Feeling over tired
unable to keep awake
I go to my bedroom
My eyes burning
I am in deep slumber
When my head meets pillow
Now my eyes are closed
I have fallen asleep

I can't sleep
My mind races and I can't relax.
I shiver in the darkness and my nose is cold.
I stare at a screen, thumbs poised to pounce,
Maybe you think this conversation is getting old.
I can't sleep now.
As a jingle rings in the silence
My heart thumps out of time
A tap onscreen to read, then a smile
To make me this breathless should be a crime.
I don't want to sleep.
My thumbs are tapping without my control
But they know just what I want to say
I picture you smiling in the darkness like I am
I wish I could see you the next day
I should be asleep now.
I type my goodbye seconds later
Just for you, a personalised goodbye
Burying my nose under blankets
I'm so happy that you are my guy
I'm falling asleep.
A chime in the night, I lift up my phone
See the reply, I am breathless once more
Lay my head on the pillow, thinking to myself
"How was I living without you before?"
I hug my pillow and fall asleep smiling.

Where do you rest your head at night?
Is it beside hers on one pillow so you can hold her?
Does she pull the sheets away from you so that you are cold?
You were never cold beside me.
Who listens to your heart while you sleep?
Does she lie awake and listen to you breathe?
Does she rest her ear against your chest and fall asleep to your heart's lullaby?
I can still hear it sometimes in my dreams.
Do you pet her hair while she sleeps?
Do you kiss her forehead and whisper to her while she cries?
Or is she a silent sleeper, just breathing quietly beside you?
You always tangled your fingers in my hair.
What's on your mind before you fall asleep?
Is it the way she smiles when she's tried?
Is it how beautiful she is with her hair spread out across you chest?
Or is it me, and where I might be, or whether or not I am awake?
I can still hear you when you're thinking of me.
Have you heard what they say?
Have you bothered to listen when they talk about love?
Have they told you about the signs of a breaking heart?
It all comes down to the last person you think of at night.
That's where your heart is.
Where does your mind rest at night?
Is it next to her, on one pillow, so that you can hold her?
Or is it with me, where ever I might be, whether I am awake or not?

Mama, can you rock me in your arms tonight?
I just want to fall asleep,
The pain is wasting me inside,
I’m tired but can’t close my eyes
Still haven't found my peace.
The world is celebrating Love,
As I gently choose to rest,
My eyes are heavy, pulse is weak
But the heaviness still weighs my breast.
Long weary years of strive I’ve passed,
You promised that the pain won’t last...
What’s that Mama, in your eye?
A tear for all the times I’ve tried.
Don’t worry Mama, I feel peace
Here in your arms I found paradise,
In the distance, I have found my sun,
My eyes are heavy and I’m traveling far
But this journey is a happy one.

A song the radio I couldn't help quote
Parachute, oh Parachute, please forgive me I had to
I love the melody, the message and it made me wonder so intently
who is this she that is love
Is she near or far
could she be sitting next to me on the bus, the freeway
a face I'd never recognize
could she be even in a red dress and alone walking beside me
A whole new world, an Aladdin style romance
would it be all in her eyes
Who could she be; the mystery is haunting, daunting, taunting
Everyday I wake up with the thought
the song in my pocket for good measure
hoping for a simple single second
a portrait of her face pieced together with her name would
appear like an epiphany in a dream
I enjoy a challenge, I'm enthralled by the chase
but I'd rather not arrive at a day
only to wake up, fall asleep, obsessively wondering the same thing
when she...she could happily content with glancing shortly in my befuddled direction
The game, it's changing
because I once heard a name in my head, eyes closed
a movie playing beyond
and the snap of my concentration forced a name on my birthday
I couldn't place a face to
The suspense, it kills; my face it changes when it crosses my lips
but what can I do, place a face to an imaginary name
for all I know, it could be a trick by lovely but lonely Mother
Self inflection:
this might take years and years and years but I just can't give up
nor wave the white flag of surrender
I get love isn't a battlefield
Sorry, Jordin Sparks, love isn't war
at least so I believe
In the end, she, the love I paint her out to be
she could be the greatest thing to occur in my universe
but with all great things, all great mysteries
let time weave it's golden thread to create a golden quilt
to lift the veil to a golden moment
Please, time, do it in haste
or for my sake, perhaps drop a hint or a difficult riddle
for me?
only so I don't feel this emptiness
anymore

Waking up in swirls of gold,
Relax and let my dreams take hold.
Silk of crimson, skin of ice,
Something strange, but don’t look twice.
Many clocks give many times,
Random words give many rhymes,
Bed of chocolate, sea of cream,
But don’t jump if I hear a scream.
Rabbit leaps around a witch,
Little bird that seems to twitch,
Mix of feelings playing cards,
Fish tie ropes around bollards.
I see things amongst my dreams,
Groups of splodges fight in teams.
Desert penguins sipping juice,
Vicious wars that reach a truce
Flying high in clouds of pink,
Made of something sweet I think,
I’m as happy as a pup
As long as no one wakes me up.

Sitting in the front seat of a rustic truck,
whose paint has seen more thunderstorms
than my skin has years,
you look so still,
like a porcelain doll,
with the fading light of the tired sky
casting its blue blankets over both our eyes.
Through the pitter-patter
as raindrops splatter on the roof,
in time with the erratic static
of the radios endless loops
I can hear you breathing in...
and out...
And as raindrops trickle down the windows
their silhouettes becoming waterfalls;
shadows running down your face
and over your cheeks to your lips...
down your neck,
and under the warm thick folds of the blanket
that hides wordless fingertip games.
The sound of your breath like slow tide
interrupted by a tidal wave;
a thunder clap so loud we shake.
An electric explosion so bright it wakes
the souls of the living that were secretly sleeping,
safe and sound with the darkness deepening.
My arms pull you close
and your arms pull you closer,
pressing your ear to my chest
and my chest to your ear
so tight that it's easy to hear
the my own thunder inside.
Your eyes close,
your heart slows,
and as your pulse settles down
the trees start to dance and sway,
gently, side to side,
through the wind and rain.
Our stories begin to unfold
in sleep and in dreams
as the rain begins to fade.
And through the clouds
comes a different trickle,
or rather, a leak;
a lonely sun beam
warming your cheek.

Safely Fall Asleep
America I am so glad has been
With me through thick and then
Sandy shore was weather beaten
Bright morning me was greeting.
Mountains with snow peak to peak
And her great beauty always seek
While it was waiting there for me
No better place can possibly be.
With my home have been blessed
And each river's arm me caressed
Which was either silently in solitude
Or by whole being valiantly viewed.
Both my parents for me always care
See lovely flowers bloom everywhere
And green pastures as they do grow
Fireflies at that will glow and glow.
All my prayers to God I have said
Several more verses in Bible read
Help those who will cry and weep
Watch over me as I fall asleep.

Couplet
Wake up America,
Arise from your slumber
Media has desensitized your minds
We live in a new world of technology that has made you colorblind
Meaningless, with deeper meaning
Music lyrics have been subconsciously stealing
While you think it’s the beat you are feeling
Listen to the words and then tell me if it’s still appealing
Even Movies have brainwashed your judgment of what’s ok
Too many people are sitting back, watching our ethics slip away.
The Government has helped us all too simply learn to accept
While gradually breaking down the family structure, many have just slept.
No longer can we allow these planted seeds of lies to continue to grow
This is real reality, not some entertainment show
Our children are not aware
That their future is in for a scare
Our youth are looking for role models and leaders
They have become susceptible to idolize bottom feeders
Wake up America,
We need a real change
Bring back integrity, morals and stop being estrange
They keep us busy in televised drama
Currently immune, with no proper armor
While people are starving and walking around half alive
They are plotting our nation’s permanent demise
Sex trafficking is at a an all-time high
Wealthy men are raping young girls in America and when they are done with them they watch them die!
Poverty and greed is causing drug dealers to lead
A generation of angry lost young man
Creating baby’s that start the cycle again
The more eyes that now see
The more we can be
Brought back to truth and sanity
The rich are getting richer and the working class have grown tired
Democracy is being set on fire
You may question what you can do
If everyday each person changed just one view
We would be able to recover what has been lost and start bran new
The people need to take a stand and vote like they really care
We must join together, use our voice, and remind them we are still there.

Couplet
when you fall asleep
let one eye stay awake
that when danger approaches
it can be a witness
when you fall asleep
let one arm stay active
that when a robber comes
it can defend the body
when you fall asleep
let one ear stay alert
that when someone whispers
it can hear the secrets
even when you die, do not die
do not allow death to kill you

Lyric
Holdin on to the last piece of my heart
Keep your eyes open even when it's dark
You stole a part of me and tried to give it back
But I thought I saw the light right before the crack
I don't want what you have to offer; you've given me enough
I'd rather fall asleep then to fall in love

Rhyme
It only took one night.
It only took one small sentence to unravel the bind that held her from humanity,
And release herself into life, and into the fire.
This was coming for so long, as these star crossed souls could not be kept apart forever.
Fate could not interfere in these destinies.
And that one night of complete freedom, held everything that she was.
It would mean the end of everything she knew,
If this fire was left to burn.
A flame that would not die, through the night of all nights.
She had found her life and soul, and to look into her eyes,
Was to glance at the stars of Heaven.
If the night was ever to end, so would she,
As there wasn't enough canvas in her dreams to portray her life and soul.
But the slumber took over, and dream she did.

Free verse
Thoughts run through my mind as I toss and turn in my bed trying to find sleep,
going over the moment I awoke and first opened my eyes , as I bent my back for a full
days work, to here as I fall asleep,
An I love you to my wife and sweet hugs to my kids a moment to myself as I push for sleep,
My thoughts of the day, missing loved ones, finding my modification, my reason, thinking
of the season as I fall asleep,
I laughed, was moved to tears, even deep in thought like in a dream when you sleep,
Thoughts of what I had, what I now have, thoughts of my life, my beautiful wife, the birth
of my kids and how fast they grow, how after a busy day how quite it is as I fall asleep,
Did a hard days work as every man should for the right to sleep,
to father to love to raise above find the right way listen to what there body has to say,
you have ask your self did I do all I could today as you fall asleep,
Life has it's way of rocking you to sleep,
but you need to stay on task, remember why, and take nothing for granted, you get what you
THINK you deserve and thats what helps us all fall asleep,
As I open my eyes one last time before I go to sleep,
I look at my mothers picture, thank her and the lord for allowing me to do what I do and
know what I know then I smile as I fall asleep.

Ballad
Little boy blue don't be so sad
You're my joy it can't be that bad?
Come put your horn down and sit with me,
Your smile is soothing and will comfort me
Then we'll look into each other's eyes and treasure
our moments time will not always provide
Little boy blue you're my treasure I've long been waiting for
Soon you'll not be here and my memory will be all that I will hold onto
Let us rest together for I know you're frail,
I need God the Holy Spirit, "the Great Comforter"
to come right now. Take my pain Lord and stand with me,
to help hold me up when all I feel is despair. Give me the
strength to help carry on for when my little boy blue is gone
Little boy blue, I'll love you forever you see
I can only close my eyes and it's you and me
together in peace
You are so precious and such a sweet gift
too special for this world, it's straight to Heaven
where you'll exist
I know you must be perfect in God's holy eyes
to take one so young who never touched his life
You're going to paradise where you'll wait for me
Until then when I am all alone I'll go outside and in my search for some
serenity I'll close my eyes and ask God to help me believe that you will
be the special star in the sky that I will see
