When I Stop and Pray

When the storm clouds boil around me,
And the lightning splits the sky--.
When the howling wind assails me,
And life's sea is rolling high--
When my heart is filled with terror,
And my fears, I can't allay--
Then I find sweet peace and comfort,
When I simply stop and pray.

When the things of life confound me,
And my faith is ebbing low--
When my trusted friends betray me,
And my heart is aching so--
When the night seems black and endless,
And I long for light of day--
Then I find a silver dawning,
When I simply stop and pray.

There are things beyond the heavens
I can't begin to understand,
But I know that God is living,
And I know He holds my hand.
Yes, I know He watches o'er me
All the night and all the day--
And He's always there to hear me
When I simply stop and pray.

Premium Member no poet am I -

a poet, you say? pardon no, not am I
there's only ONE poet - He writes on the
       sky
of sunsets and stars, of space without end
with a dazzling bright ink and ethereal pen

of rainbows and sun dogs, anvils and rains
mists from the moors, breeze-tickled plains
of haze-shrouded hills and cloud-crusted
       peaks
of sunrise horizons with blush on their
       cheeks

of green flash, auroras, of comets and
       moons
the fair constellations that rollick and swoon
of bright, stabbing bolts that pierce the
       dark skies
and spiraling storms with the sun in their
       eyes

   you see …

all that He authors is authentic and true
light years beyond what MY words can
       construe
but every-so-often, He blesses this fool
and imparts me the mercy to make me His
       tool

yes, I'd love to take credit, but I must keep
       in sight
I’m a pen out of many, with which He may
       write
so I may seem a bard with these verses I've
       spun
but regarding TRUE poets, there's really …
       just ...

   ONE.

She rests beneath her willow’s weeping rain,
As autumn strips them bare behind its theft;
Of slender leaves and tears, they stand bereft,
Yet sorrow, like the wind, begins to wane.
For all that falls to earth won't fall in vain,
And what escapes our sight has not yet left;
Though heavy hearts must carry now this heft,
It's how we know what’s lost to still remain.

And from the tears, the grieving willow weeps,
Its twigs and leaves descend to softened ground,
Reclaimed by earth and soil from which they grew.
For all that's ever buried merely sleeps,
And what we mourn as lost again is found,
When spring returns, and life begins anew.

Grace-full is the lily born of virtue’s milk
Inspiring me with petals pure in my hour of need -
Vow and vim of passion vivid and empowering as I
Imagine the strength of soulful surrender while three
Nails were driven into a suffering so great -- selflessly You
Gave Your mortal life so I may live despite thorns and thirst

Grateful is my blossom watered with Your blood and tears
Opened with a faith unfurled by Light I venerate
Devotions trumpet from a callous soul once solus - jubilant the
Lifeless root that stood futile in fertile remorse before I
Yielded my yoke to the hands of merciful Love; please Lord

Grant me the fortitude to face my sorrow - Your
Resurrection reminds me of the sacred sacrifice endured
Accepted with the courage I strive to possess -- though I
Cannot conceive.. I believe in the circle of contentment; the
Essence and embrace of God’s white whorl of salvation

Premium Member As Time Slips By

Crystal winged hourglass flows muted gold sand
as time turns red dawn to pink dusk once more;
life’s tapestry fades as years so expand
but love in the heart gives youth to restore
when embraced with so much left to explore.
Crystal winged hourglass portrays such fleeting
finite life as time slips by depleting;
with love reborn, awoken from sleeping
so shall heavenly days be accreting -
when sand flows no more - just joy, no weeping.

If God Gives Me Tomorrow

If God gives me tomorrow
I'll try to stop crying
unlike this dark night
where I fear that I'm dying

If He gives me tomorrow
I'll let go of today
I'll hold onto the good things
and the rest throw away

In the grass I'll walk barefoot
and make friends with a bird
A deaf ear shall I turn to
any harsh, evil word

I will look through the skin
to search out the soul
for therein lie treasures
that make someone whole

If God gives me tomorrow
a new song shall I sing
With the heavenly choirs
our voices will ring

Won't waste time with worry
and neither will fret
No more whiling my hours
in pools of regret

Each day is a do-over
a brand new start
to expressing your love
and unlocking your heart

So much to accomplish
new seed to be sown
in ground lying fallow
where good crops are grown

I'll do what I can
to ease someone's sorrow
by sharing a smile ~

if God gives me tomorrow

Premium Member Thorns

Shall I reside in shadows of past years
like a silhouette where light appears dimmed
as life’s entangled path cuts deep like spears
of perforating thorns overly brimmed?
Shall I guard the fragility of heart
and retreat stumbling with blindfolded sight
unless black shrouds unveils colourful art
of silky roses grown in shades of light?
Shall I remain dwelling and not then seek
life that awaits a brave travellers feet —
yet, would not a fervent heart grow so meek
with a dying rhythm of its own beat?
Amidst faith, scars from life’s thorns slowly heals
upon a path where inner self reveals.

                                       Dream of waves who sigh
                                          so quiet on the beach

Premium Member I Am Willing,, a Miracle

To win is the trying..!' gainst despairs blank stare, a wounded earth still
rolls on..! Midst the throes of territorial vying..

Shows our shattered crystal the counsel of despair
As the pales; of circumvention, invade earth's free sod and air,

Oh.! such power we covet To maintain..! what is "right?" what is yours..
can be theirs" or is it ours..? should we fight..?

Yes it tears through our city's this division reprised,
To the call of soulless ambition, destruction quickens in stride,

And! yet not new its existence..) "for know ye satan he is a liar"
Though hidden deep in shadow; was to emerge its sly desire.

Yet how ask us "innocent's" & why should this be?
Whilst we gaze upon its sickness and water the seeds..!

So we stand without reason, or we lay down condemned,
Yet open hearts to salvation; on Jesus depend,

Call his name now in season) let the fetters free fall,
The Miracle is "willing" none should perish is all..!

Premium Member Worth More Than Millions

Jesus gives me directions
To love as He has loved
With a sincere compassion
That knows no conditions

This love of His has no limits
It goes beyond worry and strife
It fills the heart with a joy…
That can only be expressed in rebirth

This love of His has a purpose
To give generously, without constraint
With a true sensitivity to the feelings…
That someone else has felt

This love of His has been given
To bring salvation to the sinner
Reaching into a wretched heart…
And bringing about a complete surrender

This love of His holds the answers
To every question we might ask,
Creates a sense of peace on the inside
That could never compare to another serenity

This love of His sends us promises
That our greatest fears will be overcome
By the assurance that no harm can arise…
For those who trust in God’s only Son

This love of His mends what is broken
Whether it be a heart or a spiritual pain
It restores the one who feels shattered…
With a promise of true hope and faith

This love of His succeeds where nothing else can
Pleading victory from these nail scarred hands
Reaching down to the poorest, lost sinner
And giving a new life, a new way, a second chance.

This love of His is worth more than millions
No amount of money can possibly buy it
Through grace, it is eternal salvation sent to us
Who simply have the faith to accept Him

Premium Member Eulogy For God

Oh, Lord! Lest one is asleep,
the purge to kill you,yet again,
is quite deep.
Some, who read your word in
the Bible, re-create it, with myths
that are long and deep.

Or, they in arrogance and fervent
ignorance stomp, on your words
as but fairy tales.
They are turning the tables on you,
woking hard to make you a fable!

As in days of Hitler, we who believe,
are shot dead in Temples and churches!
(Then, they blame guns!)
We live in a society in great pain.
Of course, bullets in this society reign!

We are being attacked for any freedom
of speech of you, and are always
besmirched.
We are beaten and called names by lost
soul jerks.

We open businesses but those who hate
your children want all of them shut down.
Because the businesses won't support the
killing of babies.
They torture us wearing their popular~~
'freedom of choice' crowns.

Churches are objects of derision.
You, God, they wrongly surmise is the
source of any division!
Poets here, who write of you, are
mostly passed over as "boring."
Your creations are adored ad infinitum~
They drool, however over their dog,
Rover!

The seas, the birds, the splendor in all
the flowers.
Their poetry glories!
Of these they write and sing for endless
hours.

Of you? Bah, humbug!
Our serenity, our hopes no longer lies in you.
But in politics, poetry, news, movies, booze,
sex-aplenty, self-adoration and calming drugs.
Oh, Lord~ we are so lost!

Have Mercy on us all, I beg!

Premium Member Musings On Faith

What if love is the religion,
and heaven a voice
with no ego;
synchronized in
harmonious hope,
speaking dialects
of kindness?
What if hell is a myth,
and evil lurks as shadows,
dressed in greed
and insincere speech?
What if there’s no fine line
between dusk and dawn?
no strained streak between
darkness and light,
blurring out visions
of wrong and right?
But If love is the religion,
would the Universe
tame the storms
raging above holy shrines?

If honesty can see through
the sunless eyes of
sinners crawling
as nocturnal creatures,
preying on gullible souls-
disguised as saints,
would they mend
sacred survivors?
for, they’ve conquered
colossal galaxies rising
from unbeatable infernos.

In a world that is oblivious
to the grieving clouds,
drizzling tears from the azure.
I wish, you and I, would read
the same book of intuitions;
scriptures that reveal
no name to the faith we behold.

Sometimes, I close
my confused heart,
allow third eye to
roam and reach,
to find heaven through
astral waltzing,
across spiritual realms,
where hymns of healing echo.

Perhaps, it’s been
etched in karmic kismet,
that amidst fleeting time
and passing seasons,
love shall rise like
a forgiving flower,
sprouting from emptiness.
Embalmed in jasmine rain water,
pouring upon the
emblem of empathy.
So, don’t speak, just listen,
close your eyes, awaken
your awareness to the air,
witness the unspoken truth,
swirling through weary winds,
caressing fragile skin,
like eagle feathers.
Seek beyond all that
which shimmers,
there flows dreams that glow,
woven with faith;
a combination of meraki,
and divine elements.

Premium Member You Took My Place

Amazing love,
Amazing grace,
You gave Your life,
You took my place.
I should have died,
On Calvary's tree,
But You stepped in,
And died for me.

What can I say?
What can I do?
To show my love,
My gratitude?
To You my Lord,
My Savior King,
For becoming my
Sin offering?

Here is my heart,
Here is my soul,
Come Lord Jesus,
Take control.
The old is gone,
You've made me new.
You died for me,
I'll live for you.

The Peephole That Is the Moon

An infinite door of midnight blue;
glowing peephole that is the moon.
Dare I look before turned to dust?
Yes, dear friend, I surely must.

In the midst, a city of finest gold,
large as the earth; immense and bold.
Quoins of pearl, this must be known,
the lusture seemed a life, it's own.
Rising from it, a mountainous temple;
whisps of prayers escape the steeple.

Without the city, fields of crystal flowers,
and trees more akin to wind chime towers.
Platinum trunks doning metalic leaves.
Angelic music when brushed with their wings.

Out from all this, layers of various planes
seemingly worlds of their own, yet all of the same.
Once starving children and homeless ones too,
with comforts of home; endless tables of food.
One plane of great sports, children running free;
prosthetics and wheelchairs, now trophies and glee.
Another, Indian braves running with buffalo,
women laughing carefree with children in tow.
Serene planes of beaches and tropical breezes.
On none was found pain, lameness or diseases.
Thousands of planes, but my favorite to view;
families and the ancients with no need of adieu.
So euphoric, this sight, but there is more to tell,
as three glorious chimes of the great temple bell.

All froze still as beams of golden light
transported them to the temple in quiet.
The most beautiful prayers and songs arose.
From within the city; pure love aglow.
Three bells again and all were beamed out;
some to the same planes, some different routes.

I wanted so badly, to open the door
and be in this place forever more,
but the door was locked and I had no key,
then an angel turned and flew towards me.
Approaching the peephole, that is the moon,
It said, "Don't worry, you'll be here soon."
I have need of a key, I began to implore,
and it slipped a note neath the midnight door.

I unfolded the note; three lines within,
and three nails fell out; payment of sin.
The first line proclaimed, the door was faith.
The second; the beams are God's loving grace.
Overcome by peace as I read the third line.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the light,
and I remembered a scripture that so sweetly states;
"For by grace, through faith, are ye saved."
