You Took My Place

Amazing love,
Amazing grace,
You gave Your life,
You took my place.
I should have died,
On Calvary's tree,
But You stepped in,
And died for me.

What can I say?
What can I do?
To show my love,
My gratitude?
To You my Lord,
My Savior King,
For becoming my
Sin offering?

Here is my heart,
Here is my soul,
Come Lord Jesus,
Take control.
The old is gone,
You've made me new.
You died for me,
I'll live for you.

Kim, this poem prompts and elicits deep feelings of gratitude. But more than that, it is magnificently composed with wonderful flow and rhyme. I really, really like it. Hugs, Paul

Your spirits light is quite apparent! Your writings show the love of GOD and Christ Jesus! They are inspiration to always remember "If GOD is for us, who can be against us?" ....answer... No One!!!

Kim: Thank you for your kind words on my poem. I'm so glad you liked it. I decided to browse your poems and while they were all very good this one stuck out for me. I was very impressed with the eloquent way you put the faith you have in the Lord into the words you wrote. Very well done and all so true. If you like the gospel in rhyme please check out the poem Did You Have Any Fear. I think you will enjoy it. Keep the faith. Together in Christ. Amen. Love, Allan

Kim, this is a treasure--a powerful, heartfelt message delivered in spare, forthright poetic form. The word economy you achieve, while maintaining flow, is remarkable. I love it!

This one is really good! I think I'll join the club and stick it in my favourites too. I don't know how to explain it but this one just feels poetic; and of course it is spot on with the truth.
