Premium Member When Eyes of Turquoise Dyed the Skies

I see you ‘cross the vast expanse,
a love disguised in dreamy whirl
and clothed in raiment sun-spun gold
as wispy cirrus wraps your dance
the music of your sigh aswirl -
a breeze I feel but cannot hold,

but dance I will with memories
though for your arms I’ll ever pine,
I look to skies for bluest eyes
at times behind the tapestries
of cumulus both yours and mine –
the realm in which my angel flies.

Our love so like the lilac leaf
two halves that shared a center vein,
once green we were but now I fade
I’m torn in half without relief
the pain not washed away by rain —
this heart-shaped leaf afraid and frayed.

O touch me warm your slanting rays
how cold my soul you left behind,
to gaze through tears at beauty high
to wander through the haze of days
and know the planets misaligned —
when eyes of turquoise dyed the sky.

Alas, myself but cosmic dust
yet still, the stardust gilts the rust.

These Eyes Have Often Been Solaced

These eyes have often been solaced

by twilight's cotton candy pllows moving silently

towards a sky's velveteen blanket

and angels'silver gowns

By gazing over hills

to where old country church bells

and crickets play harmonious sounds

These eyes have often been solaced

by honey coloured shadows

pouring moonlight zest

across the rose plum of my cheek

By little antique lamplights

which illuminate my soul 's dark cobbled street

By winds carrying sea-salts to a fragrant golden sand

By tides washing out corals to a distant land

These eyes have often been solaced by your return

to this vacant room inside my heart

By the hush hushed whisper of your voice

By the embrace of your arms

By the way you love me

By the way you need me

By the way you want me

Like an autumn bonfire

 before next sunrise'dew fall

By the way you lean on me

Premium Member The Dove In Your Eyes

How fast to wiles I fell my damask rose,
awake from slumber slept untold ages.
To gaze so deep in ocean eyes repose,
and print whispered prayer on mind's pages.

Your soul in gleaming shadow found complete,
a thirst no other want or wish contrived.
Nor cherry grown upon the branch so sweet,
without cold and dark of Winter survived.

What heart loved without a madness looming,
secure from injury sure to tarnish.
Unbroken, though lone in sadness' glooming,
and held away from love's fruited garnish.

How true the dove devoted in flight still,
that lasted in love, more than ever will.

Premium Member Kaleidoscope Eyes

Round and round I go
Unfolding my spirit of envy and gold
The nascence of a new stone
Hazel room, vibrant lilac sky,
Deep orange haze in a tender place
Arms of sapphire and cornflower blue
Fuchsia beauty drips, covering my ruby lips

All colors drift
On the first day, we met
Visions of dark slate-gray fade away
Firing up the new-age gem
Turning and creating different stars
Magic mint skies
White antique petals follow the current of air
Opal dreams, clouds embedded with impurity
My heartbeat produces flashing colors
The palest amethyst bluebonnet forever fields
Flawless tear-drop streams
Diamond shaped love
Ruby Red promises to keep
Flowing into the deep
Every color spins new
The day I fell in love with you
Peridot lime green tint
A love as old and gray
Olive brownish sun
Honeydew skin
Our future, deeper than aquamarine
Every day you turn fresh new seasons in me
Changing the sequence in my colors and effect

Kaleidoscope Eyes
Reflect by the mirrors of you
Crystallizing everything

Premium Member Where Your Eyes Shine I Want To Lie Down

where crystals gleam
i want to lie

where the scented lily opens
reveals its stamen
tender as babies breath

as unavoidable as our sun's and moon's provocative union
as desirable as a cooling whisper on a hot humid day
as necessary as the blistering heat
a dream yet to be dreamt

in my wanting
an explosion
an us reality
you are the joy of laughter
boxed, wrapped, gifted
all the gems of no monetary value - priceless
moments absorbed fully

womanhood sings
and i respond in kind

climb beyond frozen minds
where pianos open
radiate warmth
cradle purity
my will nestled in the notes

where crystals gleam
i want to lie

Premium Member Angel In Your Eyes

To you who knew me in my youth,
Who spread sweet joy and spoke with truth;
Before you passed to heaven’s skies,
I saw an angel in your eyes.

To you, the stranger that I met,
Who spoke no word of English, yet
Gave aid to me, you are God’s prize.
There was an angel in your eyes.

To those of you within this place
Whose gifts of words show love and grace,
Though I’ve not faced you, I surmise. . .
There is an angel in your eyes!

Be Gone , Do Not Look Me In the Eyes

Be gone..
Do not look me in the eyes

We were not belongers
But,Intruders
who happened to trespass
into each other's lives

We were no Romeo and Juliette
But, Pretenders
Like moon rocks believing they are the ones
who light up the infinite sky

Be Gone..
Do not look me in the eyes

Let not my lips go there
to that young and serene night
When we danced barefoot on the sand
with arms against the sadness of lost time

Your decision has been made

The last petal of an untouched margarita
withered in dust and rain

And you never asked Why

Be Gone..
Do not look me in the eyes

Do not remember me
Do not think of me

Forget my foreign whisper
like I 'll forget the wrinkle in your smile

There was never a better place
Nor will there be another time

The empty pages have been filled

Our unfinished book - Not anymore

I am a nobody ~ an echo in your hourglass fading in the sand
an empty barrel without the sweetened wine

Do not miss me - Do not think of me - Do not need me

Who am I
I' m just your rehearsed dream . a metaphoric lie

Be Gone
Do not look me in the eyes and say goodbye

I was never yours You were never mine.

I was You were

Were you ? Was I ?

This poem isn't about me or my life, but inspired
by someone else's life.

Premium Member Eccentric Eyes

Open eyed, long tearless, foul silvered orbs
have you no pity? The aqua tide rides dry.
Blind staring scorches, accusing twin barbs
who burrow inward, a destiny to decry.

Scattered rendering, puzzled pieces aligning;
"Please mercy has a place, why can't I cry?"
Remove the cataract veneer, stop my pining
"Have you no place for maddened souls such as I?"

Nailed to the boards you see a canvassed psyche
dabbed upon a casein shroud in hues most bright.
"How many lamp lit days will you seek to find me?"
The light betrays me and I live in eternal fright.

Eternities unfold in Lovecraft Tales
upon the silvered side within my eyes; hell wails.

Premium Member The Strawman and the Moon

A straw man stood fixed upon timber firm,
gazing at Autumn's gilded, moonlit prize.
He, the king of Earth and the winding worm,
she, the pale darling of cold starry skies.

Left in fallow field of harvest' soiled gown,
with sun bleached woolen coat so neglected.
Besotted by her face in freckled frown,
though light falsely owned in Sun reflected.

Few seasons counted in scarecrow's race,
lonely journey, long eons moon must know.
She left locked ever more in Earth's embrace,
while he lay fallen soon in Winter's snow.

Jealous moon keeps watch o'er his button eyes,
from Venus, Mars, and star's envied night skies.

Premium Member Your Child's Eyes

The innocence lost so long ago
The undying faith we used to know
The gentle rain of a summer's skies
You can find it all in your child's eyes.

The world was right one time it seems
And we could reach beyond our dreams
To meet a challenge of any size
That fire still burns in your child's eyes.

In a world of anger and miscontent
And the frustrations of a life misspent
And you wait in fear as the storms arise
You can still find peace in your child's eyes.

Take the time for all those things
Hear his words: feel the joy he brings
There is no hate; there are no lies
There is only love in your child's eyes.

Premium Member A Strange Galaxy

When I gaze into this realm, I see more than the dazzling array
of golden starbursts floating in a cosmic sea of blue-green-gray,
photoreceptors painting post-Impressionistic explosions of colors,
fibers and dilator muscles servicing your ocular aperture.

I see distinctive melanin patterns of a truly original individual -
a retinal scan of exceptional singularity,
each nebula unique, every supernova peculiar,
      no quasar like any other.

I passionately absorb with one brief glance
     an infinity of nuance,
   an eternity of historical archives,
a heaven and earth of emotional journeys.

I am reading your autobiography, the encyclopedia of you.
I remain a student of your sclera,
   a pupil of your pupils,
       a Vincent of your irises,

going half-mad with the dizzying vastness
of the starry night within your eyes.

Premium Member Sapphire Skies In Sanguine Eyes

In the absence of complication,
Trials and tribulations become distant memories.
Above sapphire skies delight sanguine eyes -
Inspiring forthcoming musings of the mind.

Hope of a brand-new day conquers
Disillusionments of the past
Hosting exuberance on resplendent arc,

Condemning the nights of angst
In triumphant adjudication
By the authority of a bright new dawn;
Leaving behind feelings of torments,
Emotions dispossessed, forsaken, and forlorn.

In the dread of winter, when he left her,
Beguiled by the aspirations of spring
He was her only poet laureate
Crafting her life’s laudable poetry.

She trusted him fully to write her songs.

But the man who charmed her piano keys,
As he was leaving, destroyed all the lyrics.

She is no fool in the world of romance--
Cognizant that a pretty rose has ugly thorns
And gentle winds yield to violent storms,

And marigold designs sprinkled on magenta
Mesmerizing eyes, in sight of sunrise,
Never come inspired to stay very long.

Yet, she’s moving on, enamored in new song,
Euphoric to answer call of her heart
For a new artist’s brush exalts her canvas--
Who sings her praises in verses of love
And paints her dreams in romantic themes.

Neither a blemish in her twilight skies
Nor a hint of clouds in her cosmic view
As the starlit evening wallows in full moon,
And a night of revelry scripted for two
Aspires to new horizons of sapphire hues.

My Eyes

My eyes,
you traced the beauty of nature.
The starry sky and inky ocean,
smile of winter in the heavenly garden,
dancing of waterfall on the lap of hill
and kissing of butterfly with lips of lily.
You painted the alluring nature
in the canvas of my memory.
It refreshes my soul
and revives my heart.
My eyes,
you are lovely, you are smart.

My eyes,
You traced my childhood
with your experienced hand.
Sacrifice of my mother
and hardship of my dad.
Depth of their love
and length of their sorrow,
thickness of their sympathy
and width of their care.
My eyes,
You are cute, you are fair.

My eyes,
you age out books stepping with time.
My career holds what I need.
You created hopes
and enhanced expectations.
You make my avenue successful and vivid.
My dreams slept on rose petal bed.
I know, a good book is equal to 100 friends,
but a good friend is a complete library.
My eyes,
you are my friend, you are my diary.

My eyes,
you traced a queen
in a marriage party.
Now, she is my darling
she is my sweety.
I never forget that wonderful night.
When you traced her sensation
and her jumping heart,
her tender lips
and her undressed beauty.
I was clean bold
with extreme delight.
My eyes,
you are spicy, you are naughty.

My eyes,
you are very clever.
You can speak more than tongue.
I know, you can't be wrong.
My anger is apple red,
my love is pearl white
and my pleasure is crystal bright.
When I am confused
you fly kingfisher flight.
My eyes,
you are my teacher, you are my guide.

The Girl With Blue Aruba Eyes

~

She stood amidst the tropic breeze
the girl with blue Aruba eyes
Between the fruiting mango trees
neath pastel sunset shimmered skies

Meandering this summer’s eve
we stroll the shoreline hand in hand
Where lemongrass and grottos weave
and footprints wander in the sand

Alone this twilight paradise
as moonbeams glow on suntanned skin
Melodic turquoise waves entice
a seaside romance to begin

When here on dampened shore we kiss
my heart it beats in whispered sighs
Her beauty is my island bliss
the girl with blue Aruba eyes

~

Since it is winter, I thought I’d take a poetic trip to the tropics
