Your Shadow
Your Shadow...
Is dark in colour
Like black but duller
Comes and goes
Shrinks and grows

When around
It makes no sound
And whatever you do
It follows too

So when it’s near
Have no fear
It’s always there
Cause you’re a pair

Burden of Guilt
Suffocating,
In the depths of sorrow,
Beneath a flood of doubts.
Gasping,
Unable to surface,
I frantically search
For what weighs me down;
I feel nothing,
But the burden of guilt
That fills my soul,
And then I realize
The anchor is me.

Being You
It's yourself you deny
By portraying a lie
If you fake your way
Through life each day
Your spirit, your soul
Will reach a black hole
That's when you'll know
How the power to grow
Is to trust your worth
Right from birth
Because being true
Is being you.

Our Not-So Perfect World
In a perfect world...

Things won't break,
Our clothes don't shrink,
Bugs won't bite,
And skunks don't stink.

People never snore,
They don't even sneeze;
Ice cream never melts,
And puddles don't freeze.

There are no creepy crawlers,
No slimy pets,
No spooky sounds,
No noisy jets.

We never get dirty,
We never get told,
It's never too hot,
It's never...

Airbrushed
So thin,
with perfect hair
and flawless skin.

Arms and thighs
are just
the right size.

No lumps, rolls,
dimples
or moles.

This has to be
a fake image
I see.

A Bright Future
The fallen leaves
of yesterday;
scattered and gone
but not forgotten,
as their colourful brilliance
forever paint
our memories,
lighting the way
for the new blossoms
of tomorrow.

The Legend of Goliath the Frog
Goliath the frog was gigantic in size,
often ridiculed out of despise.

He measured as high as six feet tall
and labeled the number one oddball.

But one day, at Frogville's annual event,
intruders stormed in with malicious intent.

"Yummy! Delicious frog legs," they said.
"Perfect for tonight's dinner...

My Mother
My mother takes me to different places
and laughs at all my silly faces.

She runs me a nice warm bath
and helps me with my math.

My mother makes me healthy snacks to eat
and sometimes let's me have a treat.

She takes care of me when I'm hurt
and...

Sweet Willow Tree
Down by the lake, planted magically nearby
Stands a sweet willow tree forty feet high.

The crystallized tree glitters so bright;
Bursting with colours of candy delights.

Children from all over visit each day
To gather and gaze the delicious array.

Circling the tree, they dance around;
Hand in...

Crystal Ball
I chip fiercely
through the layers
in search of my future
but nothing,
nothing at all,
just the reflexion
of my curiosity
and the certainty
to focus
on the present
or my future
will be nothing,
nothing at all
if I chip my time away.

A Mermaid's Point of View
They pollute our waters, the land, the air
They pollute the planet without a care

They kill our friends from down below
As they swim up to say hello

They build weapons to kill each other
They don't respect each race or colour

They try to hunt us in every way
But...

Swollen Heart
A heart swells,
oozing with love,
having fulfilled, re-fulfilled
and over-fulfilled obligation.
But the mind now weakens
from the weight of this swollen heart
and the pressure must be released
before it explodes.
As they engage in battle;
mind versus heart,
one resists the power of love,
the other embraces balance
and they become...

Heartache
A heart is still;
no pulse,
just a glimmer
of passion
which quivers,
longing for a spark
to rekindle the heart
so it may beat
in rhythm
once again.

Live Your Best
If we could only accept the truth
The truth about our youth
With every day that passes by
We grow older until we die
Although fighting age is not a crime
It truly is a waste of time
So instead of why and how
Focus on the here and now
For the key...

Stuck
Living,
yet not looking forward
just back and forth in thought;
should I or should I not
set myself free
or
live in complete dismay
stuck in this emotional sway.
