Live Your Best

If we could only accept the truth
The truth about our youth
With every day that passes by
We grow older until we die
Although fighting age is not a crime
It truly is a waste of time
So instead of why and how
Focus on the here and now
For the key is to live your best
Before you die and lay to rest

What a poem! Smart diction, rhyme enforced yet unforced. The theme is contemporary too especially applying to those who abhor getting old, bleaching their skins, 'replanting' their hair...yet all this can't increase their spans. Smart one.

Very true words. Here in South Africa we have a sporting legend called Joost van der westhuizen. He was diagnosed with MND (motor neuron disease). It attacks your nerve system. He can't walk or talk anymore. Speak through a computerised mechanism, similar to that famous scientist. Anyway. Just after he was diagnosed with MND, he always asked "why me?" But in the past few years he's adopted a motto of "why not me?"

Ana This is a great write with such a wonderful message. None of us know how much time we have, so we should enjoy it and leave a good impression of our time here. Thank you for the nice comment on my Romance poem.

A very necessary message. It is said "until death do you part"...well, in this poem's case, "until death do you part...from wasting time". Humanity's choices aren't really so discerning. But, some make it out to be. Nicely done!
