Best Enthral Poems
We first met at the Obsidian Bar,
on a night that I will never forget.
She’s dressed to the nines; like a movie star
in charcoal satin and sable georgette.
I catch the scent of ashes of roses,
as wisps of smoke drift from bright crimson lips.
Like a Vogue model, she sits and poses,
a tall glass of absinthe she gently sips.
With cerulean eyes, which shine so bright,
ivory skin like a porcelain doll.
She caught my eye; it is love at first sight
her captivating beauty does enthral.
She’s on her own, so I ask her to dance,
New Year bells ring, heralding our romance

While I gaze in your eyes, cool cerulean blue,
Sifting night, straining stars through morning’s sweet dew,
I can fathom the depths of empyreal skies,
Angels fluttering by, riding wild butterflies
While I gaze in your eyes, changing, aqua-blue greening,
I’m sucked into chasms, cascading, careening,
And yield to enticements which meekly disarm,
Seeping virtuous beauty, sad sensuous charm
While I gaze in your eyes, bleeding fiery blue
Ever tempting with treasures, with pleasures for two,
Being caught at the core of a blazing sapphire
Possessing, enthralling, aflame with desire
While I gaze in your eyes, misty emeralds, deep green,
Veiling laughter and banter, and echoes between,
Then I dream, so it seems, in whatever the place,
Of your scent, of your breath, of your radiant face
While I gaze in your eyes, at times placidly blue,
Near’ as calm as the weirs in the woods all bedewed,
Forty winks relegate to a shimmering lake,
Gently floating on lilies, while waiting to wake
While I gaze in your eyes, caught engulfed in the greens
And consigning my fate unto verdant ravines,
My reactions, at length, become shyer and shyer
Reminiscent of ravens at risk in the briar
While I gaze in your eyes, restless, hesitant blues
Overwhelming sensations with turbulent hues,
I’m succumbing to waves of a storm battered sea,
Being cast like a plank, never meant to be free
While I gaze in your eyes, shadowed, Midnight Lake green
Glowing hazy with dreams, misty thoughts so serene,
Sudden silence befalls me, a fast sinking stone,
Looming lost in your eyes, I am never alone
While I gaze in your eyes, saddened, lachrymal blue,
Spilling trickles of rain, pearls obscuring your view,
I’ll attend to your anguish and feelings morose,
Lightly kissing your tears, touching, holding you close
While I gaze in your eyes, pulsing infinite green
Of the earth and of heaven and all in between,
It is simple to see that my hands can hold all
Of the treasures I find which so humbly enthral
While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re bountifully blue,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning is granted to few...
While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re blindingly green,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning cannot be foreseen...
Yet I hope... and I wait...
Clap your hands, sing with joy for warm spring is here.
Swallows are the first to arrive now the sky is clear,
Purple Martins perform aerial acrobatics
To snap up flying insects as is their tactics.
Chickadee small and pretty songbirds enthral
But the goldfinch is the most beautiful of all.
Below a dazzling garden so well designed,
Each patch adorned with fragrant flowers all lined
With special flowers of every marvellous pansies,
And in each patch, you'll find flowers which one fancies,
Impatiens, begonias, petunias, delightful in the breeze,
While all around work is began by pollination by the bees.

Incredibly hung ,
with the one bung lung,
And kidneys not quite a failing,
He went to the dentist ,
Tooth reefed out,
Sucked ciggys without inhaling.
The guys in the bar,
Sucked on cigars,
Checked him, the toilet, ha,
Were enthral led with ,
The girth n gift ,
“how come it are”
Said, “Wear no jocks,
Or stinking feet socks,”
Too big for the average shiela,
She took one quick look,
Went back to her book,
Said jam it in a jam jar.
Aha.

watch out for the jammy jars,
plum jam or apricot good tuckers are,
but not 4 jamming Jimmy...ha,
not 4 jamming Jimbob...
I
Anchored on a sun filtered shore
Upon rocks which lay the days of yore
In swirling pristine aquas of alluring calm
Let it serenade heal my bruised palm
To chronicle tales of my hearts longings
And memoirs of my gradual bondings
To enthral my thoughts in the expanse of time
Parading on the lowly impasse of my prime
To write poetry ,prose or mystery fiction
Titled love on a mission to submission
For winds of change will unravel the future
And the dust of defeat will cover the past
II
Invulnerable In dens of sublime realms
where embers of hope forever gleams
Sparked moments that never fade nor flicker
Down the coconut groves lining the ocean Vast
Departing the depths of calamity chosen
To savour the dews of my late night hours
And devour not the memorable endeavours
For beauty was with me in those moments
One Inevitably engulfed in avid desires
An adherent of the much awaited messiah
With amalgam of glee and humility
And simple life of truth and sincerity
III
Traversing the blissful cavalcade holds
I contemplate in dissonant folds
Harrowing scenes from the sunset vives
I linger in my skimming crimson skies
Seemingly, my life plied on out worn roads
Embalmed by these hands in worded codes
In tongues of my fore fathers decent
I will lounge in their culture with no lament
Like those who came before me
Who fought oppressors from over the sea
and their legends enshrined in echoing songs
Of "murmurs of pleasures, pains, and wrongs"
IV
Whereon mindful of the lot i ought to do
Arrayed within scenes from over the hue
Gradually with hasty steps into depths unexplored
And withdraws, into chambers of happiness and scenes adored
To let the crest of my turning tossing mind detach from fearful odds
And my blessed struggling kind flee from the twilight of the earthly gods
So my heart and soul finally infuse with the fluidity of my course
Down the avenues of my maturity
Down the patterns of my progress
Down the depths of my humility
Down the tangled maze of my life I confess...
..In swirling moon beams of alluring calm
A faith in doubt amid a battering qualm
Under clouds which housed the days of yore
On this shell and plastic littered shore.
She is an unsung, unaware, unbridled, unsuspecting scene, deep in the woods, lost in time.
Not ventured into by hunter, or explorer for nigh onto thirty years, full of undisturbed cobwebs,
Large, and beautiful, intricately built by joyful diligent spiders, who have orchestrated them as delicately
As a maestro, taking their sweet time, using inner knowledge to enthral and entrap their prey.
Birdsong lullabies rarely glide through this forest, but the hoot of an owl can be heard nightly.
Wolves, skunk, fox, and beaver, do not notice the owl any more, focused on scavenging and hunting.
Raccoon and opossum scurry in the underbrush, hesitating only when encountering anything strange.
The mirrored pond, where animals gather, but only with their own kind, is the focus of the night.
Opalescent reflections of moonbeam light her, a beautiful contrast to the shadow dreams of the trees.
Mother Nature’s tapestry at her best, she will instantly enchant anyone brave enough to venture near.
Her affinity with twilight spirit, and her joy of being undisturbed, and undeveloped, keeps her safe.
She gathers her sleeping menagerie to her breast, watching them sleep, unsung protective mother forest.
We waved goodbye to the summer skies
As we walked below the last canopies of green
Our memories in awe at mother natures blooms
Appreciative as we witnessed her scene
Fading colourful spectrum's shared many a bed
Butterflies and insects buzz out another year
Yesterdays scents captured in our minds
Her beauty simply amazes, even brings a few tears
The winds through the trees whistle mournful tunes
Whilst the weakened leaves start their spiralling fall
We walk as they drift on the Autumn breeze
To watch their demise leaves an eerie enthral
The evening descends absorbing the light of the day
Giant cathedrals of brown change to an ebony black
Invisible sounds resonate amongst shadows of dark
This seasonal change shows no lack
Hand in hand we have walked through this beautiful park
Stopping and staring at the most beautiful of views
We head back home contemplating tomorrows writes

Through the streets of Whitechapel
A monster roamed them all
He left behind a history
Many to enthral
But who knew the romance
The lover behind this affray
He may wield a knife but in fact
Was Jack gay?
A romantic, emasculated by a wife
A sexual experience
Affected him for life
Read about the romance
The lover, murderer too
It's all in my new book
A paranormal tale for you
If you want a good yarn
My book is just a gripper
It's out in November and it’s called Rise of the Ripper
The snowflakes are falling like the words from my heart,
on the scenery they soon become part;
and I breathe snowflakes_
my world changes to a beautiful work of fine art,
and my rosy cheeks are snow kissed ~
I walk the forest paths meandering in thought,
part of a painting that cannot be bought;
and I breathe snowflakes_
winter fills me with joy and a knot,
and my rosy cheeks are snow kissed ~
I was born in a winter blizzard storm weeping,
into my life snow is always seeping;
and I breathe snowflakes_
cold winter into my poems is always creeping,
and my rosy cheeks are snow kissed ~
I am filled with great joy when the first snowflakes fall,
when winter says I am here to enthral;
and I breathe snowflakes_
in the snow my name I like to scrawl,
and my rosy cheeks are snow kissed ~

Sometimes users do enthrall,
and take advantage,
its their call,
but judgement waits,
on another date,
their persecution,
is their fate,
thats all...

Carol's poem :)
Now we have reached the winter of our lives
It’s good to look through memory archives
Reliving precious moments we have shared
Since the magical day that we were paired.
Glorious sentimental days of yore
When fate and the world was ours to explore
Of the day our hopes and wishes came true
The beguiling day we both said “I do.”
It was enchanting sharing our love nest
Again when with family we were blessed
The love, heartaches, but the best of all
Was our fledglings growing up to enthral.
I still envision you in dreams I dream
The sweetest girl that I have ever seen
Ending our lives together is pleasure
For you dear wife are my world, my treasure.
Reflections of love flood my heart with joy
A joy that no one could ever destroy.
In this passage of time
I long for the month of my birth
a real child of the spring am I
born on the Vernal Equinox
I come fully alive in spring
The sights and sounds of spring
do hold me in enthral
the beauty of each emerging bud
and oh to enjoy the warmth of sun
The busy work of nesting birds
the joyful songs they do emit
filling the world with wonder
as busily they feed their chicks
The carpets of the spring flowers
strewn here and there at random
gallant bluebells wave their trumpets
while stately daffodils bow their heads
All these bring such joy and lightness
to this weary old soul of mine
giving me the kick I need
to put away the winter blues
Love Laughs
Love laughs at each and all
As with the heart it plays
Entreating you to fall
In subtle succinct ways
The whisper in the ear
That little nothingness
Sly messages unclear
Invade the subconscious
It uses every ruse
In its little book
Leaves you vital clues
Entices you to look
You like what you are seeing
The way it makes you feel
It brings you into being
Even if unreal
You see the sideways glance
You catch the sultry stare
As purposeful as chance
Love laughs and begs you dare
A word seems out of place
Instinctively you trust
You know you should not chase
But then you know you must
You think you’ve seen it all
You think you’re to mature
Yet still it does enthral
You can’t resist the lure
Once you’re on the hook
You bow to each demand
Love laughs at its good luck
Has you, at its command
And there is no escape
Even for the strong
For it, encapsulates
All… for which you long.
Silver shot mist obscures the moon
as it hangs high in the night sky.
Radiating its light, only for it
to be reflected and fractured.
Pitch black is the night, yet also
scattered rays highlight things.
Bringing a sense of mystic
to the still silent night.
Orb of silver you enthral
as you glide and slide.
Forcefully trying to break free
and soar once more in open skies.
Crystalline waters
Spring of life,
Traverses newer paths,
Trace the flow of crystalline waters,
Waterfall,
inspires to meditate,
Serenity is immediate,
Stand at shore,
waters buzzing galore,
Furore engulfs agonising throes,
Sets new rhythm,
Tunes the heart beat perfect,
Thoughts flow constant to soulful enthral !
