A poem for a picture - Written 9th March 2024

Now we have reached the winter of our lives It’s good to look through memory archives Reliving precious moments we have shared Since the magical day that we were paired. Glorious sentimental days of yore When fate and the world was ours to explore Of the day our hopes and wishes came true The beguiling day we both said “I do.” It was enchanting sharing our love nest Again when with family we were blessed The love, heartaches, but the best of all Was our fledglings growing up to enthral. I still envision you in dreams I dream The sweetest girl that I have ever seen Ending our lives together is pleasure For you dear wife are my world, my treasure. Reflections of love flood my heart with joy A joy that no one could ever destroy.

The picture is so apt for the poem. Looking back in the evening of life to the days of love is the greatest pleasure we have when our minds are flooded with memories of joyous and sorrowful times. Sharing a life through the ups and downs of life with one heart is a gratifying experience. Enjoyed this poem highlighting the beauty of a shared life through marriage.
