Silver Mist

Silver shot mist obscures the moon
as it hangs high in the night sky.
Radiating its light, only for it
to be reflected and fractured.

Pitch black is the night, yet also
scattered rays highlight things.
Bringing a sense of mystic
to the still silent night.

Orb of silver you enthral
as you glide and slide.
Forcefully trying to break free
and soar once more in open skies.

I've never thought of the moon as being held prisoner in Earth's gravity...Great food for thought, Shadow. Well done.
