Best End Of Days Poems
...inspired by 'The Salamander' by C.S. Lewis
The sun bore down with blinding rays,
the oceans boiled and came to nought,
it was withal the end of days
with every living creature caught,
when from the rocks, agile, adept,
a tiny lizard meekly crept.
With roughened skin and beady eye
he reconnoitered through the haze,
no stranger to a blazing sky
it lay in shade, at last to laze,
it raised his head, albeit weak,
and rallied, then began to speak.
"The Future of Mankind is sealed,
the devil's bell has tolled and won,
no recompense, no last appeal,
eclipsed before you have begun
to fight disease and lawlessness,
the hallmarks of your wickedness.
No light will break from yonder stars
to help you in your hour of need,
your destiny these blighted scars
that seal your folly and your greed,
alone with your predicament,
God's only live experiment.
To mess with Nature to your shame,
to disregard His Holy Name,
to vilify the Golden Rule
will label you the Biggest Fool,
death comes quick as you will see,
the bell has tolled, and tolled for thee."
And I for one would like to sleep
but I cannot, because I weep
for lives and dreams and nations lost
We never thought to count the cost
So many are the pirouettes
of running, flailing silhouettes
as flames behind them flicker high
to set aglow the night time sky
Becoming so habitual
this savage urban ritual
of settling some phantom score
by pillaging a local store
is just a New World Order nod
like summoning some pagan god
These worshipers show ignorance
while sacrificing common sense
And mass hysteria abounds
while cultish television clowns
erroneous, declarative,
perpetuate their narrative
That theirs is right and yours is wrong
so you had better come along
and join the other little sheep
Oh how I wish that I could sleep!
Alas my mind shall never rest
My soul, this world does daily test
Let my last option be my first
In God's sure hand I'll be not cursed
My money doesn't mean a thing
Possessions make not my heart sing
But steadiness in spirit form
shall guide me safely through the storm
And though the world be set ablaze
as we come to the end of days
I pray that you and I shall be
together in eternity

war between nations
rivers overflow with blood --
the earth convulses
a crimson sky glows
meteorites fall like rain --
hearts fill with terror
stars fall from the sky
darkness overcomes the earth --
screams fade to nothing
end of days has come --
all life has been extinguished
the earth is no more

Take these shackles and give ‘em to the bear, tell her I’ve gone home
Take these shackles and throw ‘em to the wind, I’ll live like that no more
Gonna find me the weapon that can kill off Mutley, end his child like rage
Gonna find me a whet stone, sharpening my sword, gonna end his blinkered ways
I killed off Mutley
In this war inside I wage
I killed off Mutley
And it means the end of days
Come a long way from our second city, I’m a long way from home
Come a long way from our second city and I’ll go there no more
Gonna find me a crag deep in the mountains, got to mend that old dog’s ways
Gonna find a lost city deep in the desert, make sure the flee pit pays
I killed off Mutley
In the war inside I wage
I killed off Mutley
And it means the end of days
Take this message for me, carry it home, tell ‘em I am no more
Take this message for me, carry it home, tell ‘em the evils gone
I found my mountain, out in the world, it wouldn’t forgive my ways
As I soar down the valley, out of this world, I know this old dog paid
I killed off Mutley
In the war inside I wage
I killed off Mutley
And it means the end of days
Djinn arises from lamp, says
"You may have one wish."
"Make all the trash disappear."
The Earth ceases to exist.

The `End of Days!?
The ways of the end of our days
seem frightful yet serene-
Fear of the unknown may come and
go but the Lord keeps us clean.
For in these moments of life and
death I’ve seen the heartbreak of man,
and in the depths of many deep breaths
I think I finally understand.
Selfish greed and endless needs for
gold of plenty prevails,
He planted the seed and many do heed
yet some leave behind broken trails.
We fail yet rise
we compromise,
and sometimes we climb up again-
But loneliness is a struggle demise
and soon will come the end.
Forgiveness seems too rough
and love just too tough but we should
all be grateful for the Son-
They call their bluff when they’ve had
enough...
...yet Jesus is the only One.
He was born to save
and salvation He gave,
for us all to bathe in adoration,
He needs us now to gather
in prayer, for we are His
beautiful creation.
The end is near so have no fear
and remember to do what is right-
He loves us dear, so wipe that tear
and sleep tight during this dark night.
For the light shall shine and
we’ll all be fine and greater than
the rest-
Be compassionate and graceful...
...for life is our greatest test.

Some said it would come with the millennium
Worldwide chaos and technology confusion
Two-thousand twelve forecasts create mystification
Are the hopes we hold for man’s future an illusion?
There is no doubt our day of reckoning will come
Tornadoes, tsunamis and earthquakes are preludes
Softly ticking clocks gain the thunder of drums
With caution we confront skeptical attitudes
Some spend their entire lives in states of fear
I choose to live in a capsule of serenity
The end of man’s reign on earth may be far or near
As we await passage to a heavenly city
Let’s not get caught up in the growing speculation
Instead concentrate on how we live every day
Knowing our path to eternity has begun
And the covenant of God’s love I won’t betray
The date, the time and even the means matter not
For those who treat others with kindness and respect
To say we know the precise moment? That’s a long shot
Choose to live in the now, not suffer in retrospect
End of Days
By Edmund Siejka
Pondering the value of life
He formulates a riddle
What is better than God?
Poor people have it
Rich people don’t have it
And if you eat it you will die?
The answer to his riddle is: Nothing.
Looking up
He notices a pale, glowing light
Clouds reverberating with music
Feeling movement
Chest about to explode
He is lifted above the turbulence
Faster and faster he travels
Across a gray pallid sky.
Reciting a prayer
The old words reassure him
He who never prayed before
Peering through a tiny clearing in the clouds
He is struck by the enormity of what lies below
Of what he is leaving behind
He feels himself giving way
His body changing
In shape and size
Feeling a calmness to the very end
Uncertain of what is to come
He now realizes
That his crowded little life
Is coming to an end
And the only thing he can think of
Are the stories his mother
Told him
Stories of how people always triumphed over evil
And the endings were always good.
Turning off the light
She would lean over him
Gently kissing him
On his forehead
As he lay still
Not moving
Not afraid
Sleeping the long sleep
Of an innocent babe.
A news flash said there is no tomorrow
And it fills me with a feeling of dread
A pity that more time we can't borrow
This time tomorrow we will be all dead.
A huge comet has decided our fate
Our family gather to say farewell
We all reflect on our lives as we wait
For mans stupidity has unleashed hell.
Scientists tried to change the orbit
Of this giant comet of rock and ice
Missiles sent into space failed to stop it
Also chose to ignore expert’s advice.
Soon humankind will no longer exist
All vaporised in a flash of white mist.

Did you hear the thunder overhead?
Arise, arise ghosts of the dead
See the lightning flash in the black sky
Watch the rain fall before our eyes
Feel the earth as it begins to shake
Now rising Odin finally awakes
Look and you'll see the Valkyries
An ancient thousand year old prophesy
Has come to the light and reigns true
Spared only will be the chosen few
I look to the future without any fear
For I know that Ragnarok is here
People are starting to add up the facts and most don’t like what they see,
The world is rapidly deteriorating at an accelerated rate, call it prophecy!
And if these are the last days how many of us are truly ready?
We are living in an explosive society full of maniacs who’s minds are not quite steady.
Terrorists have made their way onto our shores and struck an awesome blow,
But I feel that was just a testing of the waters you know!
Their weapons are becoming more high tech and more lethal with each new day,
They are trained for suicide missions and to them death is okay.
The Bible says that before the last days the earth will experience birthing pains,
The way I understand it, it is talking about more frequent natural disasters, tsunamis,
more intense earthquakes, killer hurricanes.
Check the records, watch the news all these things are happening right now,
But people won’t listen when you tell them this is prophecy, they say it’s just life and
it’s going to happen anyhow.
The technology we have at our disposal wasn’t even thought of fifty to a hundred years ago,
And instead of using the technology to better mankind we are using it to destroy ourselves
this I know.
The will of God doesn’t seem to have a place in our society anymore,
Wrong this is not our society it all belongs to Him, every grain of sand from shore to
shining shore.
I know I’m not perfect no where near it, but I do believe in God and the Bible and what I
read,
It’s a blueprint for life which we all should obey, follow, and heed.
The world lies silently sleeping
The day of judgement has come
This day is one of awe and wonder
But feared by many and none
I looked out across the seafront
The waters calm and still
Across the meadow was quiet
Nothing stirred on the hill
Everything was holding its breath
Nothing dare speak or move
Everything waiting, waiting
To see what it’s made to prove
Had we as a world, as one and all
Done enough to make it through?
Only the one who judges and knows
Could tell us what really was true
Fire would consume us all
Or feathers protect us from fate
Depending on the judgement
All we could do was wait
Then very softly from the sky
The feathers, through air and trees
The one who judges sent the sign
And everything moved with ease
The end of days as we knew them
Time to start over and new
The judge had passed his sentence
Repayment was now due
This is the bottom line; side stepping as skirting....
All ramble bamble bull crap ? Heaven's Messiah, came
Over two-thousand years past with a message: turn your cheek
Love your neighbor enemies and all as yourself ? Yet, certains entered
Her America's and soon thereafter began slaughtering the native's their precious
Priceless hearts soon to proclaim as self-serving title as this, manifest destiny ?
Surely, a prophecy come true indeed; for you were as are, a manifestation ushering in.
take my only smile
this one i have no need of...
the sun shines no more
