Best Encases Poems
Cars are the wind on the streets
semi-truck wheels shriek thunder,
rain shatters against stone and brick walls
on dusty roads, oak trees fence with twigs—
wushu wooden clatters.
Dreadful arrays of dryads
azure and amethyst gossamer haze,
sleek, silken strikes gist an opera of wisteria,
as they sway to silver breeze's sibilant rustles.
They chant lullabies in lyrical lilts of hued iridescence,
of hearth and opals back to my scarlet nest.
Angelus silver trills, the sylphic sways of pure rays,
Coral rosary—incense strands of aurulent rimes
hum, endless hymns echo as choral evensong
alleluias softly peal out—doves with wet eyes
that drift upward on whispery—ethereal wings.
Ocean's plea emerges from apothic abyss,
a voice conveys the core of faxed shores and stars,
with earth and wind in a solemn tone.
A cosmic biography—in loud squeals and sighs
sea vernacular hinges on nature's lasting awe.
Breath goes to fog—snow melts into puddles—rain returns,
a china-white grave—encases the deceased deer,
before thawing in the morning—icy skin lies frozen.
An eerie distance holds my hand in a purifying blizzard.

A dry and barren moat
around historic tower, London’s pride
for many years in restful dormant mood
dreaming of days gone by
when swords clashed and armour creaked;
the yells and screams of battle filled the air.
Testament of courage and pain;
did those who fought there die in vain?
A dry and barren moat
now back to life to mark Remembrance Day
with a gushing flow of poppies dressed in red
reflecting thoughts of Flanders.
Who dedicates these scarlet blooms,
to souls that rest in earthen tombs?
A dry and barren moat
its open bleeding heart that drips with recollections
of destructive devastation and needless deaths.
Governments rise only to fall;
cries still trapped in the tower's wall.
A dry and barren moat
where visitors now see the red carpet
in place to praise bravery.
Haven't families of lost soldiers
earned a red carpet too?
Let them saunter somberly
above the moat, across the fields.
Such is the costly price of war;
buried loved ones we'll see no more.
A dry and barren moat
encases the historic tower,
a silhouette reminder at sunset
that no one wins a war.
A lone bugle plays taps;
it resounds through the crisp air.
A sad family walks away,
leaving tears on a floral spray.

Wrapped in God's love,
gives you the rare ability to see
wonderful things never dreamed of,
beautiful things that will only exist in eternity
A silken veil is God's love,
encases your mind with thoughts divine
Your heart undergoes a transformation,
new angel wings are now perfectly aligned
Waiting to fly always on God's love,
is a soul changing metamorphosis
Ready to emerge into a new reality,
and float forever on winds of pure bliss
Outside of your cocoon, there's a new world opening up to you
The first flower you rest on, taste the nectar of eternity's dew

Lyric
Damn this isle of mine...
solitary awkwardness surrounds
stifles, and strangles, and estranges
deranges, debases, encases, entraps
...singing this song lonely crazy
Damn this isle of mine...
coast eroding on every side
an intense sunshine serves to blind...
surrounded by sea, yet cruelly dry
squinting eyes and palate dies
Damn this isle of mine...
Mind gone aimless wander
condemned goner
seeing life that flashed reckless past
and gone...tone deaf swan song
beats on with insensitive rhythm
Damn this isle of mine...
Ever lacking human amenities
conflicting identities murky and sly
my own private Hyde sleuths like private eyes
questioning my reason with childish perspective
this madman my sole companion
this isle will kill me before I die

Dramatic Monologue
I am Libra
In every way, in every emotional sense
I am the white picket fence
That encases the complexity
Which makes up all that is me
I am me
I am the chameleon
I am the peace
In all the things you wish to see me be
I am passion
I am love
I am freedom and justice and all of the above
But still I am
The diplomacy and balance
That makes up your own democracy
I can naturally lead you to the end of your insecurity
I am strong willed and independent
Charismatic, ambitious and very flirtatious
But that's me
Still silently awaiting
To be in your precious reality
It be a dream you see
To be the rain that showers love
Or the sun that lights up your days
From so high above
But that's me
A peacekeeper, a homemaker
A pervasive, idealistic extrovert
Whose passionate enough to cleverly become
Your most dynamic love maker
I am excited
I am loyal
And all that you see that never seems to spoil
But that is me, the Libra you see
Patiently awaiting
For you to set me free

The mist rolls in like a mythical creature
It rolls and winds itself around, clinging,
like a choking vine clings to life.
It rides in softly, white, transparent,
Yet visible to the naked eye.
It creeps, it encases everything
Nothing, is left untouched in it's wake.
Visual one moment and the next gone.

Deep dark dreary days of winter
Frozen moments immersed in cold
It grasps and clutches all within reach
Freezing the inner bowels deep within
Barren roots forbidden to breathe
Bitter cold encases gives a squeeze
Winters grip covers sleeping growth
White dust creates icy dunes
Darkness appears early on the horizon
Cold, unyielding,harsh twilight hours
In the deep dark dreary days of winter.

u r a queen
your walk
so elegant
so poised
your legs
like marble pillars
u r a queen
your smile
crafted beautifully
u r a queen
your hips
shaped like
the finest apple
in the orchard
u r a queen
your bosom
bloom like the lillies
on the sharon plain
u r a queen
your skin
your melanin
encases your inner beauty
so lovely
so powerful
u r a queen
your name
like a spreading parfum
how lovely is the fragrance
u r a queen
your beauty
far beyond words
u r a queen
your lips
so inviting
scarlet ribbon color
sweet like nectar
u r a queen
your soul
filled with honey and milk
far more fragrant
than a mountain of frankincense
so sweet
so citrusy
u r a queen
u r a queen
u r a queen

You can feel the breath of fall
as she blows cold air across the plain
she whispers to the sun
asking it to shine a few more weeks
while she gathers the bountiful yield
bringing closure to the seasons warmth
night temperatures begin to plummet
her breathing becomes raspy
as coldness encases
her labored breathing ceases
with a final breath she
brings forth winters frost.

Personification
Ivy draped portal
entrancing
a soul
within a sun
enclaved in gold
made by the Fae
those wondrous beings
Is this real
what I’m seeing?
A song of joy
so sweet to the ear
Earthbound souls
never will hear
a veil
it panes
the sound
of the Fae
forever and always
to this very day
Faeries dancing
on the air
firefly’s lanterns
glistening
in pairs
shining bright
a magical trail
up the hill
and down the vale
eclipsing the moon
making her pale
Every night
no matter the weather
the folk do dance
a love song
together
binding and sealing
a hearts embrace
shows of feeling
a loves true face
Eternally joined
filigree veins
gold and ametrine
glows and wanes
the heart it encases
overflows pure joy
for hearts robbed
and broken
the Fae
refill with joy
Fae chevaliers
of true loves heart
for true loves’ trinity
the dance
the song
for love…

Sheathed in unfamiliar undulating curves
Likened to white marble maidens
Once a graceful willowy frame, wistful memory serves
Augmented by fruitful years and plump babies laden
This heart and mind deceived by time
And all that I have collected
My evolution into this voluptuous frame sublime
Youthful archetype of attraction neglected
Yet this mantle that encases
Does not define or symbolize
For my reflection in my children’s faces
Is the only mirror I realize.

Rhyme
Silvery moon cast shadows
On winters fallen snow
Cracks of ice melt deep down
Echoes of the past resounding
Cold winds howl
As heaviness encases
One by one dreams fade away
Killing the fire that once burned inside
Snow sucks the warmth
Ice crystals refuse to melt
Coldness engulfed the heart
Look at what it has done to me
What it has done to you
We drift in frozen water
Drowning in our sorrows
Frozen crystals of time
surrounding our soul
Tearing our world apart
I float on endless streams
Clutching to stay afloat
Our love dangerous yet beautiful
Encased in blocks of ice.

Angrily, rain enfolds the insular rise of lawn undulating.
Anglers dream, envious fishermen, inside looking out urging
apostles, who elope within imaginary onslaughts, hooked unburdening's.
Aloft, thunder encounters lightening's insistent taunt, oracles fearsome uttering's.
And still, each fisherman's innermost summoning orchestrates this untoward
atmospheric downfall, each drop induced, prayerful, outpouring is underscored.
Admittedly many envious housebound inmates seek oceans, lakes, unexplored
although, the earthly torrent interferes pitiless, onerous, rainfall unleashed.
Absent the energizing rays introduced by ordinary sun, undone
are these enigmatic men in rooms, oar less, ship-less, landlubbers unconsoled.
Another day encases them indoors mooning over fish uncontrolled.
A trophy earned, stuffed, indisputably shows offerings untold.
Ah, fishtails energetically rise incensed by objections never unabridged
absent their earnest wives, imagination rolls on winds un-curtailed.

Verse
Striding into the snowy fortress my tepid heart at double time
paces
Entering a pine colonnade sprouting a wintry mane, saddled with
velvety laces
Cloaked with icy needles forming a brittle, hooded trellis
Golden beams seap through the shielded parapet gilding the frosty
mantle with an iridescence
The distant peaks shrouded with the glow of satin evanescence
Following an unmarked, winding trail spurred on by an eery
prescience
My unbridled senses discharged; my tempered spirit for the
mysterious journey braces
A haunting stillness shadows my movements; stealthily my
boundary encases
Shuttered from the outside world and its vapid spaces
Where time is muted and nature's discordant rhythm races
A pristine environment where tendrils caress, limbs bristle, the cold
wind chases
A cloudy fondue swirls overhead and each spiralling steeple
embraces
Squawking squirrels prance freely on the floor without leaving any
traces
Bald eagles glide above the crenelated spires crowning the summit
with their magestic graces
A maverick-cardinal's chirps funnel through the shrouded mist,
temporarily the dreary damper effaces
A Snowy owl crests over the hollowed thickets scanning the tight
nooks and crawl spaces
White-tailed deer cautiously trek through covered thickets, matted
fields which their camouflage erases
Filtering through the blustery labyrinth, an open field the rough
terrain displaces
The broad meadow teaming with yesterday's cares my
adventurous journey replaces
Looking longingly back on my charted path, my bridled heart the
solitary life praises

Rhyme
My little treasure with such large and needy glistening eyes
She has an angelic face so soft her rosy cheeks do beam
She is short of stature though within her she encases a large loving heart
She doesn’t ask for the world just that I am a part of it
I held her only briefly too short a time for such an abundance of love to share
She asks nothing impossible of me only to be held and loved
Sadly abandoned by those she trusted and loved so dear
Her eyes so deep and yearning as if to beg me to steal her away
So far away where hurt and pain dare not follow
So far into the quiet solace of her little dreams
My little treasure so young and fragile she is
I feel her slipping away can I save her from where she hides
Can I help her find her way to the paradise she needs
Much pain in her sweet little face I can barely glance
I pray I can save her from this cage that is her little life
In death I lost my own little treasure so many years ago
My granddaughter needs that love I saved and buried so deep inside
A love that stands the test of time never to depart
I pray now for solace and wisdom from my grand creator
Great courage and strength I pray will lead me in this journey
