I Am..(Tagged By Raul, Now I'M Tagging Elaine George).

I’m a young boy
A single mother’s son

I’m a young beach beaten by a tsunami
Sent by an undersea earthquake delivering ripples of death
Carrying my mother and hers out to sea
Ravaged sands asking the sunset to reveal the secrets of the sunrise

I’m a father to a wonderful child
A beautiful wife’s husband

I’m the love in each rain drop of a gentle rain
Nurturing arid hearts with the moisture of my words
Watering seeds of the future with hope
The catalyst for the magic of spring

I’m a teacher
A Painter

I’m the strike of a snake
My fang: a pen’s nib full of black venom
Poisoning compressed cellulose pulp;
The anti-venom: beautiful words
Administered through the ink gracing the surface

A student of verse
~ I am a poet ~

Premium Member Beautiful Masterpiece (Tribute To Elaine George's "violin")

As I read the words my heart started to sing
For you had gave emotion to a non living thing

I can't ever remember feeling quite that way
I could hear the music that she used to play

I could feel her heart through the tears I cried
As I read the part where her Maestro had died

I imagined her there in her Rosewood Bed
Reading the most beautiful poem I’ve read

Velvet to her back with her bow at her side
Remembering the joy before Maestro died

She loved how his bow manipulated her strings
Together they were the most beautiful of things

What’s the only poem to ever hang in my den?
Elaine’s beautiful masterpiece titled, "Violin"

Inspired by Tracy's wonderful idea for
a contest and Elaine's beautiful Poem.

My wife loves to cook with wine
when friends come around to dine.
sometimes when she’s in the mood
puts some in the food.

Premium Member Jerry and Elaine

Jerry
Comedian rarely contrary.
Among his wacky friends, the voice of reason.
Still he got tossed in jail with them in their final season

Elaine
Confident and vain, she could be a pain.
Although Jerry's ex, she remained his friend,
along with George and kooky Kramer, till the very end.

Premium Member Dancing With Elaine Benes

Seinfeld’s Jerry, George and Cosmo Kramer
Looked on in revulsion as Elaine danced
   Jerks and quirks embarrassingly enhanced
Her three best friends wanted to disclaim her

It all began at a festive party
No one dancing, Elaine tried to set pace
Resembling a tick that was sprayed with mace
Amused smirks grew to bellows so hearty

She thought herself to be a great dancer
With kicks and spasms she danced on and on
All she beckoned to the floor said, “Be gone!”
Social life failed, no one would romance her

Note: Seinfeld fans probably remember this, but you

Elaine

Sweet lady I remember

doesn't seem that long ago

we were both so young and alive

in love's new born glow

laughing in the sunshine

we could love away the rain

don't you think there's a chance to bring it back again

Started mixing our whiskey

with something much too strong

we both made a turn somewhere

and we both knew it was wrong

I know I left some scars on you

I know how you must feel

Don't you think with some time those scars could heal

but we keep changing like the seasons

and we get uptight for different reasons

but that would make my song too sad

If we gave up on what we had"

Now we both settled down some

and loves' sweet glow is gone

If there ain't some way we can bring it back

I don't know if we can carry on'

There's no fire burning now

but there's still some coals I swear

I know we could get that fire burning

if we gave ourselves some air

So I'm sorry I upset you

I'm sorry that I made a scene

I'm sorry that I got uptight

and said things that I didn't mean

but I never will forget you

and how the time has been

If there was someway I could make it right

I would do it all again

but we keep making up excuses

and it seems like trying would be useless

But I can't picture life without you

I still love everything about you

And we keep changing like the seasons

and we get uptight for different reasons

but that would make my song to sad

If we give up on what we had

sweet lady I remember

doesn't seem that long ago

The Lover of Fair Elaine Ballad Based On Flue Epidemic of 1917

THE FAIR ELAINE

My mother had an uncle, Hayes,
Who loved the banker's child
Hayes was just a dray man
It made the banker wild

When Hayes proposed to fair Elaine
He asked for her sweet hand
Her father said that he’d agree
If Hayes could buy some land.

So off Hayes went
To make his stake
He traveled night and day
Until he found a growing town
He knew he had to stay

he drove his mule team
 train to train
delivered tons of goods
and every day he wrote to her
he’d promised that he would

and once a week he mailed the pack
he sent his seven letters
she saved them all
so comforted that
times were getting better

and in two years
Hayes had the cash
To marry fair Elaine
He hitched his mules
To go for her
And traveled ‘cross the plain

And when he came up to her house
Black wreathes were on her door
He knocked and found his fair Elaine
Was on this earth no more

Hayes went home in sorrow
Took a shotgun from the shelf
He shot his pair of finest mules
And then he shot himself

Joy Elaine Wellington

Joy, they named for themselves, the future's blind
Oyster to drink your sand. In salt tides love rises
Yearning to part the twinning shell and there resign.

Empress of the emerald seas, my ship for rich prizes
Listed its name, cargoing only your pure laden weight
Anchorless against the blustering report of bad winds.
I desired you alone, and for you I you alone I freight
Nature's nagging Testament jettisoned among the fins
Eternal glimpse of glee. O how my ship prized your worth

Well in tons delicious of my dreams, your sweet waters
Ecstatic upon the plunging foray of my keel, port
Leaning through tempting triangles, the pirate pesters
Lack speed's pursuit, and through doldrums I evade
Incessant wrongs, until your wild waves wanton decree
Numbed wind and sail in me. Flirtingly you delayed
Giving my ship to port, and then soon abandoned me
Tideless in a salt bog of tears where I logged deceit
Once in a while I come down to the sea, the old receipt
Nested in my mastless fingers, to wail my loss in you.

Macy Elaine

My favorite cousin of all time,
And the best friend I could ask for.
Cute as a button,
You never make our friendship a bore.

Everyone might be out to get you,
Least of all, I’ll be here.
And everyone doesn’t just choose,
I realize that our family is dear.
No one understands how much you mean,
Even though we keep it clean.

Elaine

My Inspiration is from a close friend who is a single mother raising her kids with
her faith in GOD.

ON AUGUST 29,1966 GOD GAVE LIFE TO A LITTLE GIRL NAMED J.Elaine A., AS
SHE WOULD GROW GOD HAD PLANNED OUT HER LIFE,EVERY MOVE
WOULD BE HER STEPS TO LEARNING, SOME STEPS WOULD BE GREAT
OTHERS SAD,SOME EASY WHILE OTHERS WOULD MAKE HER FALL,BUT NO
MATTER WHAT THRU HER FAITH AND HER LOVE FOR HER FATHER GOD
SHE WOULD STAND UP BRUSH HERSELF OFF AND CONTINUE HER
JOURNEY AS SHE GREW OLDER THE STEPS BECAME FURTHER APART THE
LIFE,RELATIONSHIPS,AND LOVE NOW HAVE TWIST AND TURNS BUT FROM
THIS JOURNEY BLOOMED FOUR ROSES THREE PINK,ONE BLUE,GOD HAD
BRITHED THRU HER HIS KIDS FOR HER TO TEACH ALL THAT SHE HAS
LEARNED AND WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN,AS SHE WALKS FORWARD ON
THIS JOURNEY LOCKING AWAY IN HER MIND THE MEMOIRS OF HER PAST
HER JOURNEY IS ROUGH AT TIMES BUT THE ROADS ARE NOT AS BAD AS
THEY ONCE WERE OCCASIONALLY THERE ARE SPEEDBUMPS TO TELL HER
TO SLOW DOWN AND SEE ALL THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN
ACCOMPLISHED TO RELAX AT TIMES AND TAKE IN ALL THAT GOD HAS GIVEN
YOU.

Elaine, Ethereal

I glimpsed you strolling as you always used to do,
Graceful as a playful breeze
On the knoll alive with lilies, yesterday.

You wore that tailored shirt of sailor-blue,
Tattered jeans above your knees
And your dust-gold hair in sunny disarray.

Erotic wraith, I know you’ve been untrue!
Death’s the lover whom you please.
He seduced you, pretty phantom—pallid, fey,
In denim-blue and sunlit gold. And I feel grey
As your marker, where I kneel and pray.

A Lesson From Love (To Joy Elaine Wellington)

It did not seem so then, but O I wish again
I could spend those days of joy with you
For there I learned that joy is just a rain
That must disappear sometime that a dew
May sparkle on a rose
And a cloud may have meaning in our woes

You left me when in the drought of love, so
Would learn not to hold too tightly when
I pick a rainbow from the ground. I was slow
To heed, and O the pains my body rend
But true love never goes
Unless it comes again, it is the way river flows.

I held you too tightly when we met, and so you
Left me to refresh your breath. You came
Again so I would forgive: love returns when it's true
But I thought you a spirit no man could tame
The way we think is why we lose
Love is the river, you the water that there flows.
